I was happy to meet both Dr. Georgen and Betsy RN. They host an informative 2 hour meeting to those interested in the surgery.
Both appeared knowledgeable and caring, focusing on the genetic predisposition of obesity yet firmly stating the surgery is only a tool. They had a slide show and handed out a coordinating lengthly packet, very helpful when going over this information later. They did their part in listing what I needed to gather for insurance approval and sending it out in a timely manner. They were not at all pushy, I actually would have preferred them to be a little more so. They have a monthly aftercare program for one year, then as needed. This was important to me, as they are located nearby and ready to help at any time. There is also a support group from their office that meets monthly consisting of pre and post-ops. Being local, I hear good things about him from friends who work at the hospital.

I thought he was very nice and informative. My impression did not change about him over time only that we go to know each other alittle better and he has a good sense of humor.
His staff was great, very frienly, very nice and helpful. There isn't much that I didn't like about Dr. Wasco only that he seemed in a hurry some of the time.
I think that his patients need to know is that he is a caring doctor and he will take the time to answer your questions and he don't hurry you out of his office like some doctors do.
He feels strongly about aftercare.
He did not stress the risks of surgery until I asked him but I was just reasuring myself because I got all that info from the seminar they had me go to. Overall I would rate him an excelent surgeron. I have no complaints about him.
His surgical competence and bedside manner are both great?
He knows what he is doing and is a very nice man.

I thought Dr. Wasco was very nice and informative. My impression of him never changed over time just that we got to know each other alittle better and he has a great sense of humor. I thought his staff was great, very nice and polite. I can't say that there was anything I disliked about Dr. Wasco. What future patients should know about Dr. Wasco is that he is strate to the point and honest and will take the time to answer your questions. He is also caring and concerned about you and is there when you need him and does not rush you out of his office. You can call his office anytime and someone will be there to help you.
The aftercare program is great. I was advised of all the risks before hand which weren't very many. I was well infourmed about the surgery and I knew the risks and benifits.
His surgical competence and bedside manner were both great I have no complaints.
Over all I would give Dr. Wasco an excellent rating. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon.

I met Dr wasco only once at the informational meeting. He seems to really care about what he does. he explained very carefully all the risks and the benefits of the surgery. The office staff is great. whenever I had a question they were very helpful

He was very informative. He was willing to answer all questions asked and he is very knowledgeable in this type of procedure.
He made me feel better about myself. By pointing out several times that being overweight is mostly genetic and that is a disease.

My first impression of Dr. Wasco was very favorable. At the lecture that you must go to before having the surgery, he demenstrated that he was very knowledgable and confident about the gastric bypass. I felt very secure about having him and Dr. Georgan do the surgery.

His staff was also very polite and knowledgable, and you could tell they were experienced at helping their bariatric patients.

They have a very structured aftercare program, and monitor your progress. They have support groups set up, and some of the local health clubs even offer discounts to their patients!

Dr. Wasco did make the risks, and benefits, of the surgery very clear. He made sure to stress that this surgery is a tool to help you loose weight, not a magic cure-all.

My first impression of him was how young he is! I only met him once at an informational meeting on 9/19/02. He was very thorough in his explanation of the surgery, and the risks and benefits. He talks a little fast and quiet. I met Betsy, his nurse, and she was VERY nice, informative, and friendly. They seem to have a great aftercare program which is very important to me. I think he's great, and would tell anyone else about him.

Very informative. His office holds a no obligation informal no charge meeting where Dr. Georgen speaks directly to a small group of people for about 2 hours and even yes answers questions you may have. His bariatric nurse is wonderful!! I will update as I go my letter is in the process of being compiled and sent to the ins co. I have not meet one-on-one with them yet so we'll see...
