Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Surgery Institute, P.C. Bariatric Center
I consider myself very lucky that I found such a competent, professional and warm surgeon and staff to work with. Every one of my needs was attended to from the beginning ( I am a single Mom of 2, I live 3 1/2 hours away, etc ). My surgeon came to see me every one of the 6 days in the hospital and he really listened to me. He took extra precautions when I had some minor issues ( I had 2 hernias, one very large, repaired and there was some trouble keeping my temp and blood pressure down the first couple days after surgery.) I honestly dont have a single complaint about my experience in regard to my surgeon, Dr Williams or his staff.

I have not met Dr. Williams yet. I finally got my paperwork in and they have contacted my insurance for approval. I'm not approved yet but I have my appointment for TSH Lab work scheduled with my PCP and my clinic date for physical, psych eval, and nutritionst meeting. Thanks for your help Virginia Rock!!

Quite, soft-spoken, and he emits a level of self-confidence and knowledge that makes me feel completely comfortable and confident in him. He performed my surgery in 58 minutes. I don't get nauseous, my pain level was very low, I was back at work in a week, and my scars will be minimal. I'd let him operate on me once a month if he said it was necessary, I have that much faith in him and I'm not a very doctor-friendly kinda person. The office runs very well. There seems to be enough staff, they know their job and do it well, and they all seem to truly care about the patients and each other. It seems very family oriented as I've seen some children of the office staff there. The practice is VERY involved in aftercare. The doctors are online once or twice a month to answer questions from anyone, they sponsor an exercise class several times a week, they have a full-time after care nurse, they have an online support system and live support meetings twice a month, they sponsored the 2003 Atlanta \"Walk From Obesity\", and the list goes on. Also, for your $6,600.00 fee you are a patient of the practice for life; never another charge to see the doctors or the nutritionist. I love a deal!!!!!
Dr. Williams was great. On my first meeting with him he took the time to answer all my questions and put me at ease. He has a great bed side manner. And my opinion of him never changed. He was wonderful. I had surgery on Friday Feb. 4, 2005 and almost everytime I woke up he was there checking on me. The nurses says he checks on his patients like that and calls them all the time checking. I would recommend Dr. Williams to anyone that needs this surgry. His office staff is also very friendly anytime you call and they take the time to answer all questions no matter how dumb you may think the questions are. Anyone can contact me if they are considering using Dr. Williams and I will tell them how wonderful he is.
I have not had a problem with my surgery at all and realize that I am one of the lucky ones. I have lost 96 pounds to date (11-4-05) so everything is going great.
Love Dr. Williams
Dr. Williams is sincere, kind, very intelligent, and a very skillful surgeon. My impression has not, nor do I forsee it, changing. The office staff is also very knowledgeable and caring about their patients well-being. They are quick to respond and the staff makes sure that their patients fully understand answers to any questions that they may have about the surgery and surgeon (Dr. Williams). I do not have any dislikes about Dr. Williams or his staff. Future patients should know that Dr. Williams is the top choice they could possibly have when choosing a surgeon for weight loss surgery. I would recommend him without any reservations. His aftercare program seems thorough and he definitely addresses all risks and openly answers any questions surrounding surgery. I would rate him a 10. I feel that surgical competence is most important, but beside manner aids in recovery by easing patients fears. Dr. Williams is top because he is great at both.
Nice man, I liked him. I was referred to him by someone else who had already told me all kinds of positive things. He's not so serious he can't smile or laugh at something to smile or laugh at.
No change since I've had my surgery, I still think he's nice. Office staff is great. Aftercare appears to be a huge aspect. I've only had one post op appointment yet but many still to come and they give you that in writing after your surgery of what kinds of appointments and contact they expect from you as you go along. The surgery was well explained and gone over with me at my pre-op appointment. Surgical competence is absolutely most important and better. Bedside manner is nice too but he doesn't have any problem in that area, he was a nice man. Besides, post op I only saw him 2-3 times for checking on me and releasing me. I was cared bedside by the nurses and they were the best.
My first impression of Dr. Williams was that he was a very confident yet down-to-earth person that I would be able to speak freely to and ask any question that I needed answered. He never made me feel as if I was being rushed, but to the contrary always asked me if I had any other questions or concerns. Over time, his humorous personality shined through and his caring for me as a person really came through. His wonderful soft-spoken but sincere demeanor encouraged me to go finally go ahead with my revision surgery despite my past negative experiences. His confidence that he could do the revision laparascopically was certainly appealing as well - and he delivered. I am unaware of any other surgeons doing this. Dealing with his office and my first surgeon's was like night and day. His staff is the most friendly, competent group of people I've ever encountered running a medical office. They run a tight ship, but it shows in how smoothly everything runs. I could not have been more pleased with the structured aftercare information we received pre-op, giving us a chance to get used to the idea of what we will be facing and what will be required of us after the surgery. Dr. Williams even has a contract that you and he sign that gives all the things expected of you post op in keeping up with your care - all of this being done in the name of helping you to be as successful and healthy as possible. Although I already knew the risks of surgery, as I had faced nearly every complication you can face after my earlier VBG with another surgeon, the risks were again fully covered with me, both on a video with a T-F test afterwards as well as personally with Dr. Williams. I would rate Dr. Williams a 10 in all aspects of patient care, from his surgical skill, to his bedside manner and communication skills. Although I think advanced surgical skill is the most important to me, it's great to know that I can have both it and a doctor I can talk to who listens and cares. Thanks for taking such good care of me, Doc! :-)
My first impression was he seems personallble and down to Earth. He was the only surgeon to gaurantee he could do my surgery laparoscopically after my open VBG. He and his staff are very professional. All risks of surgery was explained three seperate times and I even had to look at his video before my consent. I have been loosing weight nicely after I was converted to the bypass. It was worth going down to Atlanta.
