Jeffrey Hannon, M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center
I saw Dr.Lane in Jan. 2001 for my first
visit. He was very kind and listened to
what I had to say. He explained to me and my
husband the procedure, the risks and the
benefits.
He asked if we had any questions, and answered
all of them.(I had a list written down)
He explained the aftercare in detail.
He is very personable.
I was satisified with him on all counts.
Now just doing the hurry up and wait process.
My first appointment with Dr. Snow was Oct 24, 2001. He was very easy to talk to, he listened and answered my questions. He was very attenative and informative. We didn't really discuss much aftercare but, I have another appointment with him before surgery. His staff is very patient and also attenative to questions. I am very happy with Dr. Snow and his staff.
Dr. Hannon is great. He has a very good bedside manner and I know of no problems with his surgeries. I met him in 1999 when my brother was having surgery, and he has not been any different with me. One of my co-workers has had a horrible experience starting with her first office visit, but for myself I have had no problems with anything. I give Dr. Hannon and his staff a 10!!
10/12/01 I have seen Dr. Weinstein 3 times so far.My initial visit,my visit after insurance approval and to set up date for surgery, and a meet with my husband. He is very reassuring! Explained in detail the procedure of RNY and any questions I had. He's very busy so there's normally a wait, but he always acts concerned for your wellbeing.
Dr Weinstein was highly recommended to me by another surgeon, my OBGYN and from a previous patient. I went in with high expectations of him and was NOT disappointed!
He was great! He is informative and understanding.
His office staff is very nice. Mary has been helpful, but she is the only one doing this and only comes in 2x's a week.
We discussed my history with my weight problem and the history of the surgery. I explained that I had been researching for a long time before coming in and I already had my mind made up to proceed. We discussed the risks but not aftercare. We will meet again for more details on type of surgery, aftercare etc. after I have been approved.
As far as which is better, surgical or bedside manner? Well I definitely prefer competence! The manners is a nice addition to have though.
Dr. Larmar Snow was a very kind and caring man around middle 60's in age. I had all my ducks in a row when i went to him. (letter of medical need, pros and cons of surgery, goals, medical history including weight history. He drew out what he would do during the surgery and answered all questions. My husband was also very please with him. His staff all seemed concerned. When anyone goes to him they should be prepared and have done their research. He says that the aftercare is so important. That for this surgery to be a success you should really follow all instructions and not set unrealistic goals. He did say that as in any surgery there are risks and went through them but that he felt the risks were so slight that in my case he felt like this would be the way to go. I believe he will be a very caring doctor all the way to the end of the recovery. He does want me to have a follow-up with my primary care doctor within two weeks of surgery so I can be monitored by him as well. I will be seeing a nutreionsit (spelling) for a period of time after surgery. Dr. Snow feels that a lot of my medical problems will be much better not long after surgery.
I was very impressed with Dr. Hannon and his staff. They were all wonderful. I really think I made the right choice as far as having him as my surgeon. He spent time answering any questions my husband and I had and was really terrific about it all.
After my appointment I met with Mary the lady that takes care of all the insurance things. She was wonderful. She was expecting to get the letter faxed to the insurance company in the next few days and then I will follow up with calls to the insurance company.
I am looking at an early to mid November surgery date. Will November ever get here?
Dr. Hannon is great! He answered all my questions. On the second visit with him, my husband joined me and he was not hesitant to talk with him about the surgery.
The office staff is great also. Dr Hannon told me that to have this surgery there are 2 things that I would have to do after surgery.....drink water and walk. He also said that my food intake would be trial and error. I feel that Dr Hannon is the best doctor in the southeast. Dr. Hannon is surgically competent and has a great bedside manner. I can't say enough good things about him.
Dr. Hannon is great. This is not the first time that I have seen Dr. Hannon. In 1997 I had the wonderful pleasure of a gallbladder operation for Valentines Day. Dr. Hannon was great then. When I spoke to my Family Dr. regarding the surgery he highly recommended that I seek out Dr. Hannon once again. Dr. Hannon was very thorough in explaining the surgery, complications that could arise and the benefits as well. My husband attended the office visits with me and Dr. Hannon took time to answer all of our questions and concerns no matter how trival they may have been. His office staff has been very helpful throughout the whole process of obtaining the authorization from Blue Cross Blue Shield of AL. Mary ( works in insurance at Dr. Hannon's office) was great to work with. She told us exactly what we needed to send in and worked with us on getting everything from other doctors that I have seen. I do believe however that my best impression of Dr. Hannon is that he is a Christian and does not hide the fact. It was comforting to look at his lab coat lapel and see the Cross pinned there. I have no doubt that God was in control of all the visits, insurance application and approval.
