Jeffrey Hannon, M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center
I first met with doctor Hannon on November 29, 2000. My visit went well and he said that I just met the requirements. He went into through discussion about the procedure. The seriousness of the surgery and the risks involved. He let my husband ask as many questions as he wanted and was very compassionate.
I have only been in the office for one visit the nurse and the insurance filer were very pleasant. I will follow up after approval and surgery.
I have nothing negative to say so far everything has gone smooth.
November 2, 2000- I am now using Dr. Hannon and surgery scheduled for November 16th. Will update after surgery. He seems very competent but younger than Dr. Gleysteen. I have read several good reports of other doctors in his group.
He was very personal and knowledgable about the surgery. I have felt comfortable with him each time I have seen him. The nurses and office staff were very nice and the insurance lady was very helpful. Thing I liked least about him was having to wait so long to see him at the office, but I guess emergencies come up and that can't be helped. He comes very highly recommended. I had 3 Dr's recommend him to me in this area. We haven't gotten too much into the aftercare part yet, but I have been doing alot of research on my own which has helped too and I know if I have any questions I can always call his office. I don't remember how he approached the risk of surgery, but I do remember that I was comfortable knowing what all would be involved. I would rate him a 9 on a scale of 1-10. I think surgical competence and bedside manner matter a great deal.
I saw Dr. Weinstein for the first time on 7-11-00. He is a very caring and understanding person. I felt comfortable with him (even though I did run my BP up to 210/100) He explained everything and asked me questions and let me ask him all the questions I wanted. I think we spent over an hour just talking about the surgery and about me. He did not pull any punches. He told me what could happen with surgery and what would happen without it. I really like his staff, they have all been very helpful when I needed to call and ask question or get information. He talked alot about life after surgery and how I would have to learn to adapt. He told me he would send me home with a shot glass and I would have to use it all the time to start with. He emphasized that this is a tool and not a cure!
So far I'm very impressed with him. He called me in for a second initial meeting
to be sure that we were on "the same wave
length" and didn't even charge me for the
visit!!!
I feel much better after the second visit.
I had more detailed questions for him and
he the same for me. I feel very comfortable
with him now.
Dr. Weinstein has a great ability to explain the pros and cons of this surgery while easing your mind. He came highly recommended by several Doctors and friends. Everyone on his staff is very nice and helpful. My choice of Doctors could not have been better. He has taken the time to explain everything in detail to my wife and me. We both feel comfortable with him.
