Jack F. Rutledge, M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center
Dr. Rutledge is a wonderful doctor! He is very easy to talk to, and very thorough. All of the staff in his office are very nice and sincerely concerned about each individual patient. Donna, one of the nurses, is spectacular. Doloris, the Bariatric Nurse Coordinator for East Ridge Hospital is just wonderful. Many of the staff have provided a "been there, done that" for every step of my journey because they have had the surgery themself. I would highly recommend Dr. Rutledge. I was told by a nurse in pre-op that he is very particular with his staff, he demands the best from them and from himself. His below average complication rate speaks for itself. This is the kind of man and team that I felt comforatble trusting my current health and future wellness to.
My initial visit to Dr. Rutledge's office went very smoothly. My husband went with me and got all the answers to his questions. Dr. Rutledge looks much younger than he actually is. He is a warm friendly doctor and promises to take excellent care of you. He goes through all of the risks and wants to make sure you are sure. He has an excellent reputation as being the best laparascopic surgeon in the area. I am glad his hands were blessed. I would give him a 10 out of 10 so far.
I can't say enough good things about Dr. Rutledge and his staff! He is very knowledgeable, and able to explain this surgery so that I fully understood all risks and benefits. He takes time with you, and answers all questions. His staff is very friendlly and supportive. I am so lucky that Dr. Rutledge will be performing my surgery and taking care of me!
Dr Koler seems young, kind of nervous when I first met her, everyone in her office calls her Amy. She was very concerned and seemed to care. Knowledgable, and took her time with me. Called me back quickly when I called. She really believes in the Wish Center and they all seem to want to make sure that they have the highest standards in the industry and the odds of death are 1 in 400. The norm is 1 in 200. I hope my insurance will cover this, that is the hard part. They are trying, but it is up to me to really pursue this. I feel confident in her abilities the more I meet her the more I like her.
Changed Dr because of new procedure called the Mini Gastric Bypass, going to NC to have my surgery done by Dr Ruthlegde, havent met him, I will meet him the day before my surgery on Mon the 7th of July 2003. Will update when I meet him. 7/13/03 my surgery is done, I met Dr Ruthledge the am of my surgery with about 5 other patients, he was nice and tried to answer all our questions, this was the only time I saw him until the next day he popped in the hosp to see how I was doing, he didnt check my ports or anything. I not sure about him, I feel like a number instead of a person. My surgery took longer and he didnt really give me a straight answer, kind of skirted the question, he is a Dr who's numbers are important to him. I still feel alone, the clinic is not what it says it is, kind of hard when you are from another state.
My first impression of Dr. Rutledge was that I thought he was a very nice person, he wasn't rushing around trying to hurry the appointment along. He listened to all of my thoughts and answered all of my questions. I didn't feel like he wasn't interested in why I was there or anything like that. He always gave me his full attention. He went over the surgery procedure and all of the risks. He wanted to make sure that I understood any possible risk or complication.Over time My impression of him never changed. He always treated me with the same respect as he had from the first office visit. He is always very patient and caring as well as the rest of his Staff. They always greet me with smiling faces and call me by name. Donna his nurse is just as sweet as the rest. She makes you feel very comfortable and is willing to help you with anything. She was very good in answering any questions or concerns I had about the surgery. She also helped me with any questions about my insurance. When I got my surgery date his whole office seemed excited for me, and that made me feel good. I didn't feel much nerves for my surgery knowing they were all there to help support me. They day of my surgery the hospital staff was great to help me and Dr. Rutledge talked to me and my family before the procedure, to help ease any nerves and to answer any other questions. Afterwards he issued the same care as in the office. Never rushing away. He just wanted the best for me and my family. Dr. Rutledge has you follow a strict aftercare program and I think that is good, because if you feel like falling off the program or something like that. You know that you will have to tell him about it and he will whip you back into shape. He is very serious about this procedure and the job you do afterwards. He wants the absolute best results for you. That's why he follows your dieting and exercising, and if your not doing it just right or exercising enough he won't hold back. He will tell you the way it should be. I like that about him. He is honest with you. Even though sometimes it is hard to hear, I know that I need to hear it from him to straighten myself up and get back on track. I have enjoyed having Dr. Rutledge as my doctor. In my opinion, and through my experience, I feel that he is an excellent surgeon. He gives you his undivided attention and is willing to help you in any way he can.
Dr. Rutledge Is Number One In My Book!
I had a great experience with Dr. Rutledge he is very professional and cares about his patients. His staff is terrific and I would recommed him to anyone considering this surgery. I cant think of one bad thing I could say about him or his staff. Donna is great and they always answer questions promptly and accurately. Will always take the time to call you back with answers. He always takes the time to tell you what you are doing right and wrong. Never seems to hurry you through his office, spends time talking and asking questions. Just a great experience. The hospital staff was also wonderful, especially Dolores Hawk the coordinator, she is wonderful, always friendly and has a hug for you. East Ridge Hospital was wonderful.
My first impression of Dr. Rutledge was that he was very easy to talk to. At his seminar I must have asked about 20 questions just by myself, and he never looked put out in the least. For as long as I've known him, that opin ion of him has never changed. His top nurse Donna is the absolute MOST wonderful woman. Everyone on his staff is very caring.
All future patients of his his will feel very well taken care of. His demeanor and professionalism are top notch. I had the best care and never had any medical problems at all.
Dr. Rutledge is a very good surgeon. He is excellent at what he does. I worked for two other surgeons in the same group several years ago. His patients always seemed to love him. He explains everything - the good, the bad, and the ugly true. He also had an excellent bed side manner. So, I was totally shocked when I found out Dr. Rutledge was doing WLS. Donna his nurse is very smart, sweet and caring. She knows her stuff. She knows what she's doing. I seen him almost a year ago and he explained everythign and answered my questions. Donna was very helpful at tryign toi get me approved. However I was turned down by my insurance company. Recently my insurance has changed, so I'll try it again.
