Oh my gosh! Dr. Rutledge and his staff were great! I was so nervous in the beginning because I have a natural fear of doctos, and I know that Dr. Rutledge has the reputation of being straight forward and thorough. But talking with him and the staff was so relaxing and reassuring. I feel like I have made a good decision and I hope that things will go well without any complications. I have faith in him!

He is strong about the after care and that this is a tool and a life changing event!rnrn rnrn My entire family went to the consult and they are as happy as I am with him.rnrnMy mother has her doctor of nursing degree and asked a bunch of questions and he (Dr.Rutledge) never blinked an eye and answered every one of them.rnrn Bravo to the staff also Vicki and the rest of the ladies there are so nice and calming. I went to the Gastric Bypass Seminar last night given by Dr. Rutledge and I was MORE than impressed !! Dr. Rutledge seems so knowledgable, yet so down to earth and willing to answer any questions or concerns.

I am ready to get my 12 month diet out of the way and make an appointment with him to get the ball rolling !!

Dr. Rutledge was wonderful throughout this whole process. I researched this sx for a little over a yr and then went to one of his Free seminars to ask questions about the sx before my initial appt with him. He was very open and honest about everything and I felt VERY well informed of what to expect before and after sx. His staff is also wonderful and I feel like I can call and ask anything at all and not be made to feel like I am asking something ridiculous or repetitive. Several of them have had the sx as well so they are of great encouragement to me. I would suggest Dr. R to ANYONE in and around the Chattanooga area.

I was impressed with Dr. Rutledge. He was confident (almost cocky--but serious too). He was clear about risks and benefits and strongly gave personal recommendation about type of surgery (RNY lap). I continued to be impressed with his thoroughness during pre-op. The surgery itself was textbook perfect. The nurses in his ofice are wonderful examples. A number of them have had the surgery and are quite healthy and happy. I could see someone being turned off by Dr.s cockiness, but I would advise looking past it. I believe he is simply good at what he does and he doesn't hide it. He has a concern for the patient and makes post-op success a priority. I think he likes helping people get healthy again.

Very impressed with him during the seminar me and my husband attended 5 months ago. During the consult I really felt comfortable with him and felt like he really cared about his patients, seems to really follow-up with the after care program.

My first impression was that Dr. Rutledge very knowledgable about the lap ban. He also seemed very kind spirited about my weight problem. He was very thorough with every thing he did. The staff was very helpful and always easy to get a hold of. Over all he was wonderful I felt like I was very well took care of.

I was very impressed with Dr. Rutledge. His office staff is great. I do not feel like a number, I feel like a patient. I will have to wait about 4 more months so I can prove to my Ins. co. I have tried to lose weight for the last 6 months. After that time it should be a go for me. Dr. Rutledge is very strong on aftercare and that is important to me too. He seems very through and detailed about what you should expect from surgery. He pulls no punches and makes sure you know all the risks before going for this surgery.
I opted for the bypass and he explained the procedure in detail. I feel confident in Dr. Rutledge.
