Dr JohnsonrnrnEven though he late to our first meeting he seem so very informative and helpful.

My first impression was that he was a stern kind of guy, but that's ok, that just means he will get right down to business.rnrnThe office staff is very nice, very attentive and willing to answer all my stupid questions.rnrnHavn't had my surgery yet, and only met my doctor one time so, I can't say much about him or his bed side manner.

Revised 11/11/08rnI had my RNY on Nov 5, 2008. rnrnDr O'Malley was wonderful; he was is kind and relaxed with us when I saw him just prior to the surgery. He answered questions posed by me, my husband and my parents with patience and good humor. He came to see me that evening as even as dopey as I was at the time I remember that it was quite late. He talked with us, examined me and made sure I was alright before the left the hospital. rnAs well his \"teaching team,\" of a resident Dr, and intern and a medical student came to visit me morning and evening during my hospital stay. rn rnMy incisions are very small and neat and are healing well already. I feel wonderful; I have not pain, and everything is working properly so I think it's safe to assume Dr. O'Malley did his job exceedingly well.rnrnFeel free to contact me if you have any questions.rnrnrnAfter meeting Dr O'Malley the 1st time: rnDr. O'Malley is all business. That's fine with me. It isn't his job to entertain me and I don't need him to hold my hand. I just need him to perform the surgery to the best of his ability. A charming bedside manner is nice enough but if I can't have both charm and competence, I'll vote for competence every time.rnrnHis staff has been great to me so far. They are all polite and competent. Staff is available to answer questions; phone calls are returned in a timely manner.rnrnThe pre-surgical program is good. Orientation was comprehensive--taking onto consideration that public speaking isn't the doctor's forte! Consultation with the Dr was brief but thorough. rnrnNutrition seminar was thorough. Rules are strict but necessary.rnrn

He is an awesome surgeon, anyone will tell you that, his record is stellar. If you are looking for a doc that will take this journey with you and hold your hand along the way, find yourself a different one. His bedside manner is lacking but I wanted someone who would get the job done perfectly, I have family for support. His staff is excellent and they take good care of you. Don't expect to see him unless there is a problem.rnI wouldn't have had anyone else do my surgery.

Dr. O'Malley gave a great first impression. I found him to be dedicated and highly motivated to help his patients achieve their goals. He seems to really care about his patients. The office staff is very kind and efficient. They are a great team. I found the seminars for the surgery and the nutrician to very informative and helpful. I asked a really funny question to Dr. O'Malley. I asked him if he had ever lost a patient. He was honest and stated that he had lost one patient due to a heart attack. He claimed it was after the operation when the gentleman had gone home. This patient had had a heart attack pervious. This information seems to make me feel better since my worst worry if morbidity.rnMy nephew had had this surgeon and he had a excellent outcome, so I am certain that Dr O'Malley is indeed competent and experienced beyound any of the surgeon here in Canada. I have a lot of respect for this man and his skill.rnThe only problem I have is that I do not get a chance to get to have the Dr. get to know me as a person. I suppose that would be expecting too much. I would like to tatoo a picture of my family on my stomach, so that he would see I am a real person. Silly me....

Very professional. The office staff is also very professional. Dr. O'Malley seems to be all business. He has a pre-surgical plan that one must go through in order to be scheduled for surgery. Dr. O'Malley's group has been given the title \"Center of Excellency\" and they intend to keep that title by making all their patients attend his seminar or one of his other surgeons' seminars, a seminar on nutrition and one on one counseling with a nutritionist and also be seen by a psycologist before even being seen by him for one on one. I feel the whole process is a great thing for the over-all success of each patient he sees. I rate him a 10 for being the best at what he does. I believe his surgical competence is much better for the long haul. 8/24/07 My first impression of Dr. O'Malley was that he was strictly business with not much of a bedside manner. On the day of surgery when he arrived he was in good spirits before surgery and made me feel very confident of his skills before I headed into surgery. Each day that he saw me after surgery, he had on a beautiful smile and I appreciate that. I am very happy to have had Dr. O'Malley as my surgeon.

Warm, considerate, and answered all of my question. He understood my distance of travel and knew I wanted the best of care, and knew he could provide me with that..Was willing to answer any and all of my questions. rnrnPre-Surgical and After0care are very important to him for the success of his patients...

Dr. O'malley is very much about business, which is cool. He's not touchy feely, but i think he'll be very good about what it does.

Dr. O'Malley is EXCELLENT! I loved his staff and I was treated very well in the hospital. I had a quick recovery and absolutely no complications. Love, LOVE this guy!
