Bariatrics and Medical Weight Loss North - Community Health Bariatric Center
My surgeon was very nice.
Pre-op
He informed me of all the risks, facts, statistics, the different surgeries, the pros and cons and answered all of my questions and listened to my concerns. He was very warm, gentle and sincere. He always looks into your eyes when speaking to you with a smile. He seemed like he had a genuine interest in helping me.
Post-op
He did a great job on my incisions. I was out of surgery an hour early. I had a hard time the day after surgery with an allergic reaction to medication of some sort and my IV line backed up and he came in and told me that it will pass that everything went great and there is no need for concern so he kept me at ease. As he said, within 24 hours I felt fine. I now feel amazing!
2 days after the surgery I had a minor question at 9pm an a Sunday and he called me back within 3 minutes. He answered my question and I felt at ease.
He was AWESOME! I would definately reccomend him as a surgeon.

My first impression of Dr. Distlear was that he is very shy. When he entered the room to speak to me alone, he was grinning from ear to ear and was very nice and gentle. He answered all of my questions and seemed liked he cared. I had already had approval from my insurance company before I even went in for my consultation so I was excited about this process. I know that I trust Dr. Distlear and that we are going to have a fun, exciting journey together. The best part about him being my surgeon is that he likes the same effect that I do after the surgery, he enjoys to see the life changes in peoples self esteem and lives.

One this that I like about Dr. Ditslear is that he is personable and really truly seems to care. I have a surgery date scheduled for December 15, 2005 and feel that Dr. Ditslear is in total control. He seems to see into your soul and really listens to what you have to say. He performed a surgery for a very good friend of mine that was around 550 lbs. Dr Ditslear was so determined to not cut open my friend and to perform the surgery laproscopically that he spent 6 hours operating on him.
I was less than impressed with this man. I am a reasonable person and he said I was difficult, I think because after driving the traffic in INdy, a 2 hr trip one way, that he asked me to come back as he was unable to finish my interview. It was a stressful drive for someone who is not used to driving in a city and being anxious about all the traffic. so I went back and then went back again to take my MMPI test. I took it and then when I saw the test that was supposed to be mine, had another name on it. I didn't think too much about it, but when I checked the age and date, it didn't correspond. Anyway, he said that I was a mess, needed extensive therapy, etc. I questioned some of the answers that I supposedly gave, as I certainly did not remember most of those things. So, I do not even know if the test that they sent to the second psychologist was even mine, but I took the test again and because of the previous test, the dr must have thought I lied or tried to work the test, as he said it was almost too perfect. I am now trying to get the paperwork on the second test, to compare.
Went to see DR Rose Matie Jones on August the 3rd 2005. I was in a meeting room full of other people meeting her for the first time. I left that meeting feeling that I had made the right choice in Dr's. She answered every question and what had to be answered by a phone call or an other way was given to her staff person in that rm. I do not feel anyone left that day without all of the questions answered. Her one on one session was not rushed at all. She stayed in that room and again answered all the questions myself and my wife had.
Her staff was very professional to talk to and were very helpful getting everyone signed in and where we would be going.
I said I saw DR Jones on the 3rd of August and on the 5th of September I received that I had been approved. I feel very lucky to be approved on the first try. After reading all the stories how BC/BS denies a lot on the first time. My DR and having all my medical records send to BC/BS may have really helped out.
I would recommend to anyone that may want to go to Carmel St. Vincent Hospital in Indiana that they consider DR Jones as the DR they want to do this surgery. She will answer any and all questions and take any fear you may feel away.

Dr. Jones is located in Carmel, Indiana at St. Vincent's Hospital. She and three other surgeons make up Carmel Surgical Specialists. She is well known for her expertise in LAP bariatric surgery. She is a tiny lady, but radiates confidance to her patients. She put me at ease immediately with her peace, confidance and knowledge.
Dr. Rosemarie Jones is a fantastic surgeon. She has performed this surgery (RNY)for several years and is an excellent surgeon.
She is professional, friendly and is very knowledgeable. She answers all questions and understands the emotions that her patients are experiencing.
I traveled four hours to have her perform my surgery because I wanted the best medical care available which is what I received. Her office staff is friendly and courteous and very helpful too.
My first impression with Dr. Jones was that she is a genuinely caring person. I did alot of research on many Dr.'s and she is right up there at the top of the list as far as experience, least amount of mortalities, and is great at taking care of her patients.
St. Vincent's Bariatric Center has a great Support Team for after surgery as well as before. They also have teams in other cities as well as the Indy area. The office staff is very caring, seems to be on the top of things. They were very helpful with my insurance filing, was very prompt about getting things to me to get sent in. Also, when my insurance needed more things, the girls were very timely about getting them to them. I was very lucky and my insurance approved me the first time around. So far everything has gone great. I'm very happy that I chose St. V's Bariatric Center and Dr. Jones, even tho, I have to drive 3 hours to get there. There are closer places for me to go to, but I went on experience, personality, and from word of mouth, the best advertisement of all. If you are anywhere close to Indianapolis, IN, be sure to check out St. Vincent's Bariatric Center and it's surgeons. From being on the websight forum, all the Dr.'s there are very good.
