Dr. Regan is one of the most compassionate, well-accomplished young doctors that I have come across. He is refreshing, informative and has excellent bedside manners. In the past I have worked both for an insurance company and for a group of doctors and when I have questions regarding another MD then I go back to my contacts and research the specialist that either myself or a family member will see. Everyone that I spoke with has a deep respect and highly recommends Dr. Regan. He was very informative, gave the pros and cons of the procedures, and was constantly asking if I have any questions or if I understood what he was saying but the is so thorough that he answered most of my questions before I asked them. . No question was a stupid one. He took his time with me and I did not feel that I was keeping him from any other appointment, that I was his main focus. As for his staff Sue and Pat were extremely informative and put me at ease with their warm smiles and professional mannerisms. I was informed about pre-op and post-op care, diet and the group meetings and how important they were. If you have any questions after you leave the initial appointment, then you can call and you call is returned in a timely manner. The only negative experience was that I was not impressed with the people skills and bedside manners of one of the younger office staff members, but I am confident that with time, experience, and maturity, she will relax and address the patients and their needs with a little more warmth and concern. These were just my personal impressions of my own personal experience and that I am making no statements about what other people may experience. But overall, when I left his office I felt that my needs and fears had all been addressed.
My first impression was that Dr. Regan was young, kind and very informative. He is actually doing this surgery to better his patients lives.
The office staff is extremly nice and very helpful.
I would and have recommended Dr. Regan.
That you should go to his seminar before scheduling an appointment. You learn a lot from the seminar. Questions you may have never thought about asking someone else will.
I thought that Dr. Regan provided information to me that I could understand without question. He went over all the possible risks of the surgery in great detail. Dr. Regan took his time when describing what he was going to do in the surgery and even drew pictures to make sure I had a complete understanding of what to expect. He allowed me time to go over the list of questions that I had brought with me to the appointment. When I finished asking questions, he told me that he was happy to see that I had done my homework and had written down the questions so I could get questions answered for my particular situation. His receptionist Carrie could use some customer service training, since she appeared to be miffed with having to take down information. But Sue his nurse was very warm and welcoming as was the nutritionalist Peg. They both appeared to want success for their patients. I think that future patients should come prepared for spending about two hours for their initial counsultation. I was told that on my next appointment we would discuss their after care program but Peg did go over what to expect in general terms.
i liked dr. regan. Not only did i get to speak with his very first patient, the orientation meeting was very informative. He is a relatively young dr. and his staff is remarkable. They are very caring and they don't make you feel like you are a burden. Especially after surgery when you are begging for pain meds! I wish I would have written down more questions to ask him after my three week follow up. I suggest that you write down anything you want to ask your dr. so you are more informed. However, his nurse is so nice, she'll answer any question for you. They all tell you to just call if you need an answer to something. This is something that i like!
Dr. Siverhus is an outstanding surgeon right from the beginning. At my first consultation
he was very warm and informative. He made me feel comfortable immediately. His office staff are so caring and genuine. The Bariatric Coordinator Sue Dugan is phenomenal. She works with you through the whole process and is so helpful, caring, and sincere.
Dr. Siverhus did a great job on my surgery and was very compassionate and concerned about my comfort level before and after surgery. His bedside manner is very warm and
he is concerned about your overall well being.
I have had to contact Dr. Siverhus after my surgery and he has been prompt and thorough on follow up. I highly recommend Dr. Siverhus.
Overall my experience with Dr. Siverhus and his staff has been a great experience and I feel that they truly care about me and are just as excited about my journey as I am.
My 1st impression of Dr. Regan was that he was very young, but he seemed to know soo much, and reviewed all my paperwork closely. He asked alot of questions, and I asked him alot too. He was very caring and kind.
His office staff (Sue) is the best. The 1st time I called the office and talked to Sue, she was like a new friend. She talked to me as if she had known me all my life. She was so real. I felt like a person and not a number.
Dr. Regan explained that the surgery is not without risk, and explained all of the possibilities of complications and risks. However I don't think the risks are as bad as the risk of staying the way I am now.
Sue explained to me the orientation meeting w/ Dr. Regan, and also told be of the twice a month support group meeting that they have. I have already been to one, and it was great.
I am looking forward to working with Dr. Regan and Sue for the long haul. I know that this won't be easy, or fun, but the payoff is so great. I can't wait to start my new life.
Until later.
Dr. Regan is young, but very confident. He is so caring and understanding(so is his staff). The pre-op consultation was informative, he also met with my husband after my consultation. The day of surgery, he came to visit before surgery, after and twice a day during recovery. He's very proud of the work he does and is truly happy for his patients.
I first met Dr. Regan at an informational seminar about a month ago. I was impressed by his knowledge and the way he handled questions from the audience. He handled every question with respect and courtesy, whether it was sophisticated or very basic. I had a pre-surgical consult with him today and feel increasingly confident in his knowledge and abilities. He is young (it is WEIRD to go to a physician significantly younger than I am, but that's the way aging happens!), but my sense continues to be that he's quite skilled at what he does and he cares very much about the bariatric patient. He went over the procedure and actually paid attention to the pre-surgical information gathered by the nurse in charge, asking relevant questions and trying to understand my history and how it impacts where I am today.
His staff is terrific! I was well taken care of and not forgotten in the busyness of the office. The aftercare program was explained in detail and it is very structured. Both Dr. Regan and his staff addressed my concerns thoroughly and actually encouraged more questions.
I would rate him and the Columbia program thus far as very good--it's hard to give an excellent or outstanding rating to anyone on this brief exposure. I am very happy with my choice thus far and I have researched several programs.
For me, surgical competence is paramount, but if the office staff treats me as though I'm stupid or is rude, I don't care how great the surgeons are. I'll be dealing with staff a lot more directly than with the surgeon. I feel that the Columbia program has excelled thus far at both surgical competence and bedside manner.
I can't think of what I liked least about anyone or anything I encountered today. It all went smoothly, I wasn't given false expectations, but I was encouraged to pursue the further tests I need as they prepare a packet for my insurance company. The insurance hoops that will have to be jumped through concern me more.
Dr. Regan not only is an extremely competent surgeon, but he has a wonderful bedside manner. My initial visit with him was in October, 2003 and I was very impressed with his compassion and understanding of me as a morbidly obese patient. He thoroughly explained the surgery to me along with all the risks involved with the surgery. Nothing was left out of the pre-surgical evaluation which made me very confident that I was a good surgical candidate. Dr. Regan visited before surgery, in the recovery room and at least twice a day while I was in the hospital. He is truly concerned with his patients and their successful outcome. I saw Dr. Regan three weeks after surgery. He is concerned with the post-op course and rejoices in the successes of his patients. Future patients can feel comfortable in his abilities and trust that he will always do what is in the patient’s best interest.
