Carolina Surgical Associates Bariatric Center
From the initial introduction, Dr. Anderson gave me the sense of confidence and comfort that I was searching for. He gave me a feeling of security in the manner in which he promised his care. The office staff was amazing, as I showed up for my consult and had forgotten to get a referral from my PCM. They immiately coordinated with my PCM and got the necessary paperwork while I was there in the office. Kudos to their office and Julie at my PCM's.
When I first met Dr. Anderson I was a little uncomfortable. He seemed to talk to the top of my head instead of making eye contact. He was very business like and didn't seem to have much of a bedside manner, fairly unemotional and all. It took a few visits but the ice has broken. I even manage to get him to smile every now and then. I think that Dr. Anderson is a great surgeon and I am so very glad that I chose him to do my LapRNY. It was the only surgery that they performed but I understand that they now do the lapband as well. The best thing that has changed since having my surgery 6 months ago is the addition of Sue Rudnicki. I'm not sure what Sue's title in the office is, she took Angie's place. All I know is that she seems to do it all. I can't sing her praises enough. She is also a gastric bypass patient herself, therefore understands the things we go thru, where the Dr.s aren't able to. She has been a great help in the short time that she has been here and I look forward to learning more from her over the next several months. Already she has been able to have available protein supplements and vitamins right there in the office, which saves me a lot of time trying to find them else where. With Sue and Dr. Anderson, I think that Carolina's Hospital could have one of the best Bariatric programs around.
When I first met Dr. Anderson he was a very nice person. He asked me a lot of questions and I thought when I left there he wouldn't approve me for the surgery. He had several things I had to do before he would approve me.I did as he requested and when I met with him again, he had reviewed all my information. He felt I had sleep apenea, which is something that several memebers of my family have. I also was recently diagnosed with Lupus and he felt the surgery would help improve my health. He also made me aware of what would be expected of me after the surgery.I would recommend Doctor Anderson to everyone. He doesn't beat around the bush.He informed me of all the risks that surgury could have.He was straight forward with me and guaranteed me he would take very good care of me. Also, his office staff was so helpful and nice. Nurse Angie is awsome and I stay in contact with her through email.I would rate my whole experience so far a 10.
I think Dr. Anderson's program is well put together because he seems to have a good support program set up as well as great materials on WLS to fully explain before and after care. I was a bit surprised that more pre-op testing is not done to make sure that I am healthy enough to have this surgery and cut down on complications. I guess if he thought I was at great risk he would do more and maybe I'm just nervous.
After Surgery: Dr. Anderson is wonderful. He did a great job with my surgery and after care. I felt completely taken care of by him and his staff. I had asked a few friends in the medical field about Dr. Anderson before I had my surgery and they all said that I was in the safest hands. I believe it! I thank God for the gift of this surgery and for the protection He provided me through Dr.Anderson's surgical skills and dedication.
I have had two meetings with Dr. Anderson and found him to be straight forward and to the point. His knowledge of the procedures and the whole program provided has put me at ease. His staff is also very good. They have an extensive aftercare program with lots of support. That was a key issue as the more I read about WLS the more I'm convinced the hard part is post op. So far I am very satisfied with Dr. Anderson and the whole program.
I was very impressed with Dr. Anderson and his nurse Angie. They were both very informative. I was told about all the good things about the surgery and also the things that could happen. I was taught all about the dietary restrictions afterwards. Angie has been a big emotional support through this.
I was very pleased with Dr.Anderson. He and Dr.Baulder took very good care of me after my surgery. I would recommend him if anyone wants to have the surgery.
I got the impression he is a friendly, good-natured man who is serious about helping his obese patients. He makes sure you are completely briefed and understand exactly what the surgery and ensuing lifestyle change will entail.
Dr. Anderson's nurse Angie Kriss was a BIG help to me in the approval process and very very patient although I pestered her half to death *smile*
I can't say I disliked anything about Dr. Anderson. He emphasizes aftercare and there is a monthly support group at Carolina's Hospital run by his nurse Angie.
He addressed the risks of the surgery adequately and I think I would rate him very highly, a 9 on a scale of 1-10. He may achieve the final rating of 10 AFTER I experience his surgical skills first-hand :)
I AM HAVING MY FIRST MEETING WITH HIM THE 7TH OF MARCH. BUT I CAN TELL YOU HIS NURSE
ANGIE KRISS IS GREAT.
WELL MY FIRST MEETING WENT REAL WELL WITH THE DR. HE WILL DO I SUPPOSE (HA HA)NO REALLY I THINK HE WAS GREAT VERY TO THE POINT AND DID WELL EXPAINING THE SURGERY BUT I'M STILL GOING THROUGH WITH IT
This is very early in my journey and I am sur
that I will beable to tell you a lot more about my Dr and his staff. I want you all to realize that I am 55 and happily married. But..........friends I ain't dead yet!!!!!
When I met Dr Anderson, I looked into the prettiesr blue eyes I have ever seen. I have to admit I felt like a kid at Chridtmas.
I have wanted to have surgery for five years or more. He has super nurses and such helpful caring staff.
Before my appointment was over, I was totally at ease and very excitrd about the future. Dr. Anderson explained the procedure and showed me what he was going to do. My goal is to lose at least 100 lbs.
We talked about complications that could arise due to my diabetes. He is so easy to talked to and just made me feel like he would do everything possible to help join the "losers" on this site.
I think his track record speaks for its self and I would be Happy to recomend him.
The question is...surgical competence or bedside manner. I was impressed with his bedside manner in the office. This was very important to me, because, being obease I get my feelings hurt enoug.
When I first met Dr Anderson my first thought was WOW WHAT A HUNK lol!! But seriously he seems to be a very caring person.. He explained things to me very well..
