Carolina Surgical Associates Bariatric Center
Absolutely wonderful surgeon who spends a lot of time with his patients. He takes the time to explain the good and the bad and listens with a caring ear and a warm heart.
The office staff is caring and sensitive and treats all patients as if they are the most important peole on earth, what a wonderful atmosphere.
One of the most important people that you will come in contact with is the Bariatric Coordinator for the office, Sue Rudnicki. She is such an important resource and is so helpful with supplement and vitamin decisions. She is a truly caring individual who will help you along on the most important journey of your life.
Aftercare and follow-up is stressed by this group. You have to be willing to follow a structured regime if you want the weight loss to be permanent and successful.
All risks were explained up front and his bedside manner is without question one of the most wonderful I have ever come across. He treats each patient as an individual, as if they are the most important person at that moment.
Surgical competence is again without question, technique is wonderful and I am so fortunate to have had his skilled hands. Thank you for assisting me in the journey to become the person I always knew I could be.
I did a lot of research before deciding on surgery and then choosing a sergeon. My first impression of Dr. Anderson was that he was a serious, no nonsense type of doctor. Over time, my impression of him has not changed. I was very impressed with him and his staff. They are always very pleasant and helpful, as well as supportive. Dr. Anderson is not very talkative, but he is a very good surgeon who takes his work very seriously and expects his patients to, also. Dr. Anderson and his partner, Dr. Balder, have a wonderful program that provides education and support both before and after surgery. The risks of the surgery are addressed several times - in the informational meeting, in the first meeting with your surgeon, and in the required education class that takes place before surgery. Overall, I would rate Advanced Surgical Associates with an A+++. I chose this group because of the surgical competence of the doctors and the total package of support both before and after surgery. Their staff is the best!
loved him from the 1st visit!!! office staff was always very friendly and informative. Dr. Anderson always puts patients in ICU the first night after surgery just as a precaution. Not all surgeons do this and it was helpful!! All risks and benefits of surgery were explained several times over. He is an excellent surgeon who made me feel very comfortable from step one of the process. He is very caring and understanding. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to have or to learn more about WLS.
Dr. Anderson is in partnership with Dr. Donald Balder and are practicing in Conway S.C.(near Myrtle Beach) now. I went to my seminar with Dr. Balder and had my consultation with Dr. Anderson. Both seem to share similar manners, Clear and to the point while remaining friendly and calming.
Both are very informative and willing to listen and answer all questions.
1.Very Knowledgable.
2.What I liked most was that Dr.Anderson is willing to do what ever needs to get the job done.
3.I also liked knowing there are steps you have to go through before any surgery is done.
4. Risk factors were addressed very well I know what I am getting into.
I have only went to the first meeting.
And today I turned in my paperwork. 10-4-04
Dr. Anderson at first seemed very reserved, but after going through the surgery and seeing him several times since, he has really opened up. His office staff is great. Sue is always there with an answer if you need anything. She is a true assest to the office. I would recommend Dr. Anderson to anyone that is considering this surgery. He was great while I was in the hospital and made sure the nurses were taking good care of me. The first time I met with him he told me that I would be his patient for life!! This really blew me away. The after care program is great and they also have all the vitamins and supplements there that you can buy instead of searching for them. All I can say is that I have had NO problems whatsoever since having this surgery and I give Dr. Anderson all the credit for that. All his patients have to attend a 2 hour informational/nutritional program that outlines all the is required of you after having the surgery. This is a great thing. I seen where some patients come home and have no idea what they are supposed to take as far as supplements and what they are allowed to eat. If you have Dr. Anderson as your surgeon, you know all of this information before you ever have the procedure doone.
After meeting Dr. Anderson I thought he was very professional and personable. As a nurse myself, that means alot to me. I was very impressed that the took the time to not only answer my questions, but my husband's questions too. He never talked me into my decision for surgeon, as a matter of fact he very carefully presented all the risks. Never tried to "snow" anything. After my surgery he was very patient with us and again answered all the questions we had. I trust his surgical abilites and I appreciate his great bedside manners. Many times I have been asked about the surgery itself. I tell people I wouldn't say that surgery is right for everyone, but as for me, I wouldn't change one thing. Not my decision to do it or the surgeon that did my surgery. Dr. Anderson, Thank you very much.
My first impression was, "Man, he has beautiful eyes."... I thought he was a little dry to start with but that impression faded with time...He is very insistent that his patients have the best of care.. His abilities as a surgeon outweighed any little glitch in his personality but like I said, as time went on he grew on me.. His office does have an aftercare program in place. He was very clear about the risks of this surgery, he explained everything to a tee..and even drew a picture on the paper on the examining table. He gets an excellent in my book!! 99% of his office staff is wonderful... Surgical competence is always first in my opinion because i don't care how nice they are when it comes to operating on me...
