Carolina Surgical Associates Bariatric Center
I love this group!!!! Not only a great doctor but a wonderful human being. He has a wonderful caring kind staff.....
I am thankful I have found a new doctor. So far I really like him and I have saw a few I didn't care for. He was very thorough and answered everyone's questions. I will be back for an update soon I hope. Great doctor and wonderful human. Dr. Chaudhari and his team are going to make this journey a dream come true....
Dr. Jeffrey Chaudhari did my gastric sleeve in June 2010.
My primary care practitioner told me that the skill of the surgeon is key for this type of surgery. All I can say is that if my surgery and recovery is an indicator, Dr. Chaudhari's skill level is clearly tops.
My first impression of Dr. Chaudhari at the info meeting was that he was friendly, and not only answers questions but welcomes them. When I had my consult, this was reinforced. In fact, he commented that he especially likes it when his patients have done lots of research and ask him tough questions. He doesn't rush you and takes all the time you need. My insurance covered RNY, Sleeve, and Lapband. We immediately ruled out lapband for me. Dr. C spent quite a bit of time explaining how each would work with me and answering a million of my questions. I chose the sleeve and I've been very happy with it.
His office staff is the same - both nutritionists Leslie and Stacy answer questions by email and phone very quickly as well as doing face to face consults. I felt like I was well-prepared for my surgery. Gina was amazing getting my surgery approved very quickly. In fact, the entire staff will feel like your family very quickly.
In terms of recovery, I woke up from anesthesia with some pain and I was immediately given pain meds. I fell back asleep and when I woke up the pain was gone. It never really came back. I had one more pain shot thinking I'd preempt the pain, and then took two pain pills and that was it. I had surgery on Wednesday and was back at work, driving, on the following Tuesday. No one could believe I had had surgery. The weight is falling off quickly still and I'm very pleased with the results. Of course the sleeve is a tool, and you have to make lifestyle changes, but Dr. C. and his staff will guide you every step of the way.
The only negative I have is with the post-op diet. It included unsweetened apple juice, which is fine for many people, but for me, it threw me into a stall the first week and slowed down my weight loss initially. Once I discussed that with Dr. C., we made adjustments in the diet. Remember, everyone is different and if something isn't working for you, then talk to the Dr. and the nutritionist - that's why their program provides you with a nutritionist for life.
I was lucky in my choice of surgeon to have one with an extremely high skill level and with a great bedside manner. You can't go wrong with Dr. C.

My first impression of Dr. Anderson was that he was very confident in his abitilites. My impression of him has not change he is very confident and very knowlegeable in what he does. The office staff is also the greatest Carla his nurse came and seen me several times per day while I was in there, she had went through this herself and had been an inspiration and help to me. Dr. Anderson also came by once in the morning and once in the evening checking on me. I can't think of anything that I would say negative about him or his staff. They have stated on more than one occasion that after surgery that is not the end but only the beginning of them watching and advising and seeing me through this for life. That is very reassurring to me to know that I have them on my side. Overall I would definetely rate Dr. Anderson high on everything from his knowledge of the surgery through his education of the risk of surgery to the after math I would tell anyone who is looking to have this done that they should definetely research him. My whole experience so far had been great I have no regrets and would do it all over again.
My surgery was on May 30th, 2007 with Dr. David G. Anderson. He is a wonderful surgeon, informative, good bedside manner, helpful, good follow-up, no complications, honest and compassionate. He unfortunately, has moved to Greenville, SC and I will miss him. Dr. Anderson is very competent, informative, addressed all risks of surgery as well as the lifestyle change the surgery will bring. There is an excellent aftercare program with a support group that meets every Wednesday. rnrnrnrn
Thorough and thoughtful, Dr Anderson is experienced and apparently well trained. He explained the surgical process and has a well organized pre-surgical program as well as a well structured aftercare program. Support group attendance is encouraged. He has on his staff a very experienced bariatric coordinator. What I look for in a health care provider is knowledge and caring and Dr. Anderson did demonstrate these qualities. I have had NO complications from my surgery (other than some mild fever immediatley post-op) and would highly recommend Dr. Anderson.
My first impression of Dr. Anderson was positive. He was very knowledgeable and articulate. He answered all my questions honestly and patiently. I feel he sincerely has my safety and health as top priority. The nutrition classes were very informative and aftercare program is very thorough. I would recommend this surgeon to anyone but please remember these are my own personal experiences and can not promise you will have the same experience.
My first impression of dr.anderson was that he is a very confident surgeon and knows his job very well; which that made me feel very comfortable with him at right off. His staff are all very helpful and they also know what to do. After my surgery he came and saw my twice a day which that usually doesnt happen. He lets you know everything up front and talks to you with care and understanding which is a wonderful bedside manner. I am so thankful that I was lead to him. He is truely a wonderful person and even a greater surgeon.
