Dr. Warnock was a very caring man. He sat down with my husband and I and answered every question we had. I was very impressed.
I can't wait to get to the other side.

I felt very comfortable meeting him for the first time. He has a polite, warm and caring personality. He was upfront with me from the beginning about what took place during the surgery. He requires that you actually go visit 3 of his patients (post-op)before you can proceed on and get the insurance approval for surgery. I can't mention the aftercare too much, since I'm not there yet, but he does have a support group that meets once a month. The lady in charge of the support group has an open door for anyone with questions. Dr. Warnock did tell me to check into the surgery as much as possible, including speaking to people and the internet. He office staff has been very curtious and helpful in answering my questions.

I would recommend him highly. He is not only a great surgeon he is also a wonderful man. His bedside manner is wonderful. If I had to do it again he would be the surgeon. I never had any problems...of course I did what he said to do. He is a fine Christian man....makes all the difference in the world to know that I found a doctor who believes in God...not one who thinks he is God. His office staff is wonderful. I would have all of them as friends. They make you feel like you are "part of the family". He doesn't keep anything from you and insists that you be well informed about bypass surgery before he will consider it. He was the perfect combination of surgical competence & bedside manner.

28 Nov 2001 I called Dr Warnock's office with my referral number from Tricare. I spoke with Debbie, she is very nice. My first appt with him will be 10 Dec 2001! I'm excited.
11 Dec 2001 Well, I had my appt yesterday.
Dr Warnock was wonderful! He was very kind, listened to everything I had to say AND looked me in the eyes when I was talking. Answered all of my questions (I took a list of 20 questions with me). Never acted irritated or impatient. He was very serious about letting me know about the side effects and possible complications. He drew a pic of the bypass on the paper that is on the exam table and explained everything. He lived up to his nick name of "Angel in Cowboy boots". I was the last pt of the day and I could tell Debbie was very tired, yet she was still patient, kind and very helpful. (The only bad experience was with a woman who didn't work in Dr Warnock's office that was the cashier for the whole group of Doctors. She was very curt, short and irritated with people. Like we were wasting her time and she talked down to people. Maybe she was just having a bad day and should have called in sick. The wonderful staff of Dr Warnock made up for it though. I'll try to get a different cashier next time.)

very professional and caring.his office staff is very helpful especially debbie. dr. warnock is an excellent surgeon.he stresses the importance of following his advice and suggestions for sucess in this procedure.such as keeping appointments, doing lab work, listening to what your body is telling you. i have not been able to attend the support group meetings due to my second job but he strongly advocates being involved with this group. he addressed the risks of this surgery but i work in a hospital so i was already aware of the possible risks. i am aware that death is a possiblity with this surgery but we are not guaranteed any certain amount of time on this earth and the quality of life should be of utmost importance. i could get up in the morning and die of heart attack, get hit by a car, get shot, whatever! what matters is that the quality of life i choose benefits me, my family, my god.

My impression of Dr. Warnock was of total delight. I could not ask more of a physician or surgeon than what I see in Dr Warnock. He explained the surgery in great detail, then asked me for my question and my husband for his.. He made sure all of our questions were answered and made sure that we were very comfortable in knowing that this is the best decision that my hubby and I have made. He explained to me about the tests that I will need to have done for the rest of my life. My primary concern then was, since my hubby is active duty, we will be going to Germany.. What about the tests? Debbie was able to calm my fears with what they would do. I'm very pleased with my choice of surgeons and highly recommend him to anyone. Even long distance.. I travel 12 hours to see him and would travel another 24 if I had too... He is well worth it...

Finally got my insurance authorization and due to have surgery 12-5-01. I've been working very closely with Debbie, Dr. Warnocks assistant. She has gone above and beyond the call of duty to get this approved for me.. Thank you Debbie....

Dr. Warnock was very corteous and understanding. I think it is great that he makes sure that you are fully aware of that is involved and that you have the connections to others who have been through it already. His office staff seem all nice and friendly. It is surprising to meet people who truely care and don't juge you. He really seems positive of the outcome, and strongly emphasizes that you follow up with him. He made sure that I was fully informed of the risks. Even going so far as to give me online references on the surgery. He also encourages you to take notes on everything you learn, and for you to meet with those who have had it done and write down any impressions you get from them. Overall, I am truelly looking forward to having him as my surgeon. He has a wonderful personality and cares about all of you not just the part that will line his pocket.

When I first met Dr. Warnock I was so surprised at how sweet he was. He was very soft spoken with me and made me feel very comfortable with him. He did a great job on me and I am very thankful to him for that. It is, however, my opinion that he is too rushed with his patients and doesn't give them the time they need to talk during their visits. I also found out that he had very different views on pain control than I did "after" I had my surgery. Let's just say he's "old school" when it comes to pain control. Just address these issues, if you see him, "before" you have the surgery. Don't be left without any pain medication when you go home just to be told that you have to heal yourself and learn to tolerate more! Not my idea of fun, I can tell you that much. That was my experience anyway.

Dr. Warnock is dedicated and loves his work. He's a religious doctor and that is a very good thing when you are about to take a step like this.

The staff at Dr. Warnock's office is WONDERFUL! They took care of everything for me and was extremely helpful each and everytime I talked to them. Overall I would say they make a great team. I think anyone who chooses them will be happy.

I had my consultation visit with Dr. Warnock last Monday (7-9-01) He is a very caring and competient doctor and I have complete trust in him. He answered all my questions and made me feel that this surgery will change my life for the better. He emphasized that I should learn all I could about bariatric surgery and be prepared to live a healthy active life. He also insisted that I participate in aftercare, and followups in the years to come. I am anxious to get "to the other side" now.
His office staff is great, very caring and helpful.
