Bariatrics of Texas Bariatric Center
1/30/02 Today I met the man they call an "Angel in Cowboy Boots". He was wearing cowboy boots. He was a very nice man and he explained everything to us in great detail. I'll let you know more when I go back and see him after my insurance approves it. It just happened so quick. I had already made up my mind that I was going to have this done, but I had come prepared with records, letters, the whole 9 yards. They didn't want any of that yet. I am so ready and prepared for this, I wish they had started the insurance approval when I made my appointment 3 weeks ago. I know that is not how it works, and I am glad that I have this started now. I feel that Dr. Warnock is the right surgeon for me.

I was finally approved for surgery. I am scheduled for 5/15/02. Just want to thank Dr. Warnock's staff for putting up with me.
6/9/02
Dr. Warnock did a super job. I feel fantastic. My incision healed beautifully and it's a perfectly straight line. He was so nice to me.
My first impression: he is VERY caring of his patients.
I am excited that he was taking new patients he would not agree to do the surgey untill I
1) read information on him from other patients,
2) went to support meetings with other Gastric Bypass patients.
3) had an appointment with my family
(husband & children)
4) took time to make sure this is realy what I wanted to do.
the office staff is great!
He is very considerate, and caring. He is not there just to make money!
be honest and just tell your doctor why you want or need the surgery.
he was very informative about the "risks" of surgery. I would recommend him to anyone fortunate to have the operation!
One more week!!! I can't wait!
My first surgery was done by Dr. Marcel Molina in Houston, TX. My second surgery was done by Dr. Warnock.
When I had the first surgery, I met Dr. Molina the day before surgery, I went through the seminar, had the surgery, and never saw him again. That is not a criticism - that's just the way it was. That's how it was described to us in the seminar, and that's how it was.
Dr. Warnock has made a life-time commitment to me. I met with him twice prior to surgery, and I will continue to see him for the rest of my life. Obviously I'll see him more right now, but even after I reach my goal I'll continue to see him on at least an annual basis. To me, the aftercare program is as important as the surgery itself.
Dr. Warnock is a very spiritual, caring man and he has an amazing reputation as a surgeon. I felt completely safe in his hands. I don't have to tell you anything - if you are interested in WLS, make an appointment with him and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed! I'm just afraid that no words I have would be adequate!!
His bedside manner (that term makes me giggle--I had surgery one week ago yesterday and the only time I've really spent in bed has been while I'm asleep--he believes in "up and at 'em" but gives you the tools to make that possible!!!) and his surgical competence equally exceed expectation.
His staff is overworked. I had to nag the lady who files the insurance on a regular basis to get everything done, but it got done! I just figured it was my life and my job to bug her 'til she did it!
I would certainly suggest Dr. Warnock to anyone, and I'm 8 days post-op!!
Dr. Warnock was very kind and caring at the first meeting. He explained everything fully, then answered any questions I had.
He's still a very kind and reassuring Dr. he tells you to call him no matter when or what time you need him.
Everyone in his office is very nice. They are very helpful and answered any questions I had. (It only took me 21/2 months from the first meeting to my surgery date. I called them a lot and also called my insurance company a lot to make sure everything was going well.)
Dr. Warnock speaks very plainly about the risks to the surgery. He doesn't pretend there are no risks, he wants you to know exactly what to expect.
He does emphasize aftercare and what you need to know and do. He gives you a folder telling you things you need to know and foods you can't eat etc.
I rate him a 10
I think surgical competence is the most important, but think you can have both with Dr. Warnock.
I haven't got any negative things to say about Dr. Warnock, because he was always very kind. Well he did make me quit smoking to have the surgery, but explained how smoking caused problems with how my lungs would do after the surgery.
Dr Warnock is the greatest Dr I have ever had any dealings with. He is the most informative person about the surgery and the risk. I had been referred to him by another Dr in his office because the first Dr did not do Gastric Bypasses but Dr Warnock did. My consultation was on July 2, 2000. I had done alot of research on Gastric Bypass but I spoke with Dr Warnock in great depth that day and new that this is what I needed for me at this time in my life. I was approved for surgery around the first week of August and could of had the surgery a week sooner than I did but Dr Warnock was going to be out of town the week after that so he would not do it until Aug 24 because he wants to be the one taking care of his patients during the recovery time . I thought that was something special about him. I kenw by talking with hin that his number one priortity was you and his faith in God . He to told me to pray about it. I had already done that and knew that day that God had led me to the Dr that was to help me on this new journey. Surgery went great. But I had some complications once I got home. Because I wasn't doing all that he told me to do, I don't know at the times that I called him and not one time did he make me or my husband feel that we were bothering him. At one time I was so sick Dr Warnock told my husband to bring me to ER and when I got there , there stood Dr Warnock. I was crying and he leaned down and embraced me then kissed me on the forehead and told me that he was going to take care of me and not to worry. And that He did. I can't say enough about Dr Warnock except he is #1 in my books. He has done my tummy tuck and as for as I am concerned he is the only Dr that will ever do surgery on me in the future should I need it. His office staff is just as great as he is. Patty his nurse is just as kind as he is. Debbie Well what can I say about her. She has the most patience of any on person in the working world that I know of. I bet she dreaded to hear the phone ring when I was waiting to be approved for my tummy tuck. Because it was going to be Oleta. But you know the day I was approved she called me with the news and acted as excited as I was. My recommendation to anyone considering the surgery, DON'T GO ANYWHERE EXCEPT TO DR WARNOCK.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have only met with Dr. Warnock once for my initial consult but liked him very much. He seems to be a very kind and gentle man that understands how I feel. He was great with my husband and that I liked! I look forward to seeing him again and having him do my surgery! The office staff seems very easy to deal with but didn't really have much time with them yet either. Haven't met Debbie because she was sick the day I was there!
