I am very impressed with Dr. Foote and all the staff at MMPC. Also, the staff at Blodgett Hospital was wonderful. I never met one that I didn't like. My family was also impressed with Dr. Foote and were so happy everything went so well.
My first impression of Dr. Foote was he is a very caring and sensative doctor. Dr. Foote was quite informative about the procedure RNY explained it in great detail.
Did my impression of Dr. Foote change over time? No
Dr. Foote's office staff are great, they also are quite informative and help with all questions that I have had.
What should future patients know about Dr. Foote, they need not be afraid of him, that he will take good care of you physically as well as emotionally.
Dr. Foote's after care program is quite structured, having appointments at 2,4,6 weeks, 3 month, 6 month and 1 year...
Did Dr. Foote address the risks of surgery...why certainly...I would beleive that anyone going to a surgeon and not getting the risk factors are walking thru life with blinders on....
How would I rate Dr. Foote he is top notch, I would recommend him to everyone I know that is planning on this surgery...In fact my husband is joining me he will also have Dr. Foote as his surgeon... :)
Which is better, surgical competence, or beside manner geeze what a question (lol) I would certainly hope his surgical competence is better yet I would hope he has a wonderful bedside manner...Guess what folks Dr. Foote does...I have difficulties in trusting most doctors...beleive me when I say I trust Dr. Foote totally....that he has the highest of recommendation from me...:)
Dr. Schram, with Barix Clinic, was very straight forward in the consultation. He told me what to expect and answered all my questions. He wasn't overly friendly and wasn't interested in staying with me longer than necessary, but I don't need a good "bed side manner" if he is a good surgeon, and I have been assured that he is.
Everyone that I have met at the office has been wonderful. They are very kind and very compasionate. I have felt very comfortable being there. I was very impressed with the information provided to me during my PAT, it will make my recovery easier.
I WAS VERY COMFORABLE WITH HIM FROM THE FIRST TIME WE SAT DOWN TO TALK.
THE OFFICE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND IF I HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THINGS I CALL AND THEY DO THERE BEST TO GET ME AN ANSWER.
I THINK THAT FUTURE PATINTS WILL BE VERY HAPPY AND COMFORTABLE WITH HIM. HE IS A DR. THAT I WILL BE VERY COMFORTABLE WITH HAS FAR AS BED SIDE MANNERS GOES. THERE ARE DR.'S OUT THERE THAT I FEEL DON'T HAVE A GOOD BED SIDE MANNER.
DR. EMPHASIZE'S ALOT ABOUT AFTERCARE AND HOW THINGS WILL PROGRESS. IT IS VERY STRUCTURED AND I JUST CAN'T WAIT TIL I GET APPROVED TO START MY JOURNEY.
YES HE HAS ADDRESSED THE RISKS. AND I KNOW THAT WITH ALL SURGERY THERE ARE RISKS NO MATTER WHAT. BUT I WILL FEEL SAFE IN HIS HANDS AND IN THE HANDS OF GOD.
RIGT NOW OVERALL I LIKE HIM AND I'M COMFORTABLE WITH THAT.
BOTH SUGICAL AND BEDSIDE IS IMPORTANT TO ME. I HAVE HAD A BAD OUTCOME FROM A SURGERY I AM DOWN ON MOST DR.'S. SO FOR ME TO FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH DR.SCHRAM I'M CONTEND.
I met with Dr. Schram last week. He was very nice and very informative. By the information that he shared, he reassured me that I have made the right decision to move forward with the surgery. The entire staff at BTC was terrific and made me and my husband feel totally comfortable. The facility/hospital was very inviting and clean and the staff were all professional but personable at the same time. All of my questions were answered and I am sure that I am on my way!
My first impression of Dr. Schram was that he was rather YOUNG! (ie, from the thought that anyone who looks younger than me is YOUNG and I'm 39) I asked him about the number of surgeries he had performed and the type == about 1200 surgeries and most of them open Roux-en-y. He hasn't had a leak and he hasn't lost a patient. He was very personable, knowledgeable, etc.
My first impression of Dr. Foote was that he is a very caring man. He made sure that I knew exactly what I was in for. He took the time and answered all of mine and my husbands questions about the surgery. He never made me feel rushed. The atomosphere at the visits was casual and relaxing. I have never had reason to change my impression of him. His staff is very caring and attentitive to my concerns and needs. I liked him a lot but a lot of exams are deferred to his office internists or PAs so you don't get to see him very much. I had to ask to see him at least once for post-op follow-up because I kept getting scheduled for the PAs and I wanted to see him at least once. (For the record the PAs are awesome, very friendly and very helpful.) His aftercare program is the best! It is very structured. You return for follow-up appointments at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, one year and then yearly thereafter. You meet with the dieticians, PA or surgeon, the behaviorist, and an exercise physiologist. The dieticians help with what to add to your diet and when and address concerns regarding tolerance of foods. The behaviorist addresses any concerns you have with the behavior portion. The exercise physiologist sets you up with an exercise program that is fun and easy to stick with and it does get results. They also have surgical support groups every first and third Thursdays. They are there to help you all the way so that you can be successful. It is a very comprehensive program. I would rate Dr. Foote as excellent. Bedside manner and surgical competence was excellent as well. Dr. Foote also works with Dr. Kemmeter and Dr. Baker, who also are very skilled surgeons with great bedside manners.
He was a great Dr made me feel very comfortable. the staff at the office was very caring and helpful.
