Spectrum Health Medical Group Lakeshore Bariatric Surgery Bariatric Center
I loved Dr. Schram. He seemed to really care about me as a person not just another patient. He prayed with me and my husband before surgery. That ment alot. I would recommend him to anyone thinking about weight loss surgery. I have no complaits about dr schram or the hospital staff. It was a good experience. I came home in no pain. And still feeling great! I am only 3 weeks out from surgery and people when they see me cannot believe that I had surgery. I am a very happy patient!
Dr Foote is confident but not cocky. He seems somewhat reserved but not so much that he would appear cold. I sensed that it really matters to him that he be the best he can be at what he does. Some of the seemingly younger office staff could stand to be a little more personable but then never were rude, just... self absorbed. rnrnConcerning aftercare... this is where I found that MMPC fell short of my expectations. I live in an area where there are no support groups. I have several co-workers who have had surgery at MMPC as well and in response to a mailing they sent us, asking if anyone wanted to become a support group leader, we sent them an email letting them know that we were in need of a group and willing to start our own. We did not receive a reply until we sent a second email. They let us know that they had become part of the American Bariatric Society and wanted to abide by the society's rule that requires surgery support group leaders to be employed in the health industry. It left us out in the cold... this frustrated all of us. The closest group is over an hour away and we work in an financial institute with late hours so the drive time was impossible. rnrnIt was disappointing to ask for help and training to start our own support group only to be left high and dry. Surgery is only the first step in fighting this battle. When the things get tough, you need support from others who have dealt with the same struggles. At this point, I have 6 friends and aquaintances who have had the surgery and one more about to be scheduled... there's a group! We do try to support one another but not as a formal group. It would have been great to received some guidance in this area. I hope something will work out for our area soon... the group support is vital!rnrnThe group did an effective job in detailing all the potential complications. I had a stricture that required ballooning which was perfectly performed and I've been great since. rnrnI appreciate the confidence that Dr. Foote displays... it helps with the typical surgical jitters that most patients probably experience. I think he is an excellent surgeon and refer other patients to him with confidence.
Dr Schram is the BEST!!!! He is very caring, prayed with me before surgery and his technique is amazing. I had open rny and the incision is barely noticeable and flat. Did I say he is the BEST???? rn His office staff was very helpful and encouraging when my surgery had to be delayed because of insurance reasons. rn I only spent a few minutes during my followup visits with him, but he was willing to answer any questions. I didn't feel rushed. rn I only met with him once pre surgery, but he explained the procedure and why he chose open for me and was willing to answer my questions. rnrn<img src =\"http://www.turningpointedonkeyrescue.com/luci%20card3.jpg\">
Dr Foote was a wonderful surgeon who did my RNY on the 24th of November, and I was home walking around on the 25th. I had no post op complications and very little pain. My biggest problem was car sickness, which they told me about. rnrnI would recommend Dr. Foote to anyone who is in need of a surgeon.
Dr Jon L Schram!!!! Can you say the most AWESOME man besides God himself and of course my daddy (RIP) and hubby and oh my father in law. Seriously though, Dr Schram is very very intelligent, skilled, warm hearted, a genious in his field, and the list could go on and on. I would DEFINATELY recommend Dr Schram to perform your WLS surgery. My incisions are perfect, I haven't had any trouble. He prayed with my husband and I before surgery that was so sweet and caring. He does this with everyone and God sure does guide his hand, mind, and soul. I had only seen him in scrubs both times I had met him so when he visited my room before he went home that evening, I was like WHOAH what a babe! :) I heard he is single, I thought he was married. Maybe he is I don't know but I have a couple of friends I could introduce him to. Giggle. Thank you Dr Schram, you mean so much to me and you are in my daily prayers as well. Jackie G
Dr. Foote was awesome since day 1 of meeting him.rnThe staff is knowledgable and ready and willing to help with anything you need.rnrnI would rate Dr. Foote and the staff at MMPC with a 20+ on a scale of 1-10, I seriously have heard horror stories with many surgeons in the area and I can tell you none of them with about this doctor or his staff. rnrnI currently to date have referred 15 people to him with all but 3 having already had the surgery.
I had my initial consult on May 9, 2005 and thought that Dr. Schram was very informative. He answered all of my questions in a very thorough and professional manner. Dr. Schram described the surgery in great detail and I left his office feeling very confident that this is the right thing for me.rnrnDawn was my counselor at Doctor Schram's office and she too was very informative about things like after care and what to expect.rnrnI felt like I was in great hands going into surgery, Doctor Schram left me feeling very at ease and even said a prayer with me before surgery.rnrnI am VERY pleased with my surgeon and would highly recommend him to anyone!
I went to Barix Clinic in Holland Michigan on the advice of 2 people. One was the sister of a co-worker who had had the surgery done and the other was on the advice of my husband's pyschiatrist. I am extremely glad that I followed their advice. rnrnMy first meeting with Dr Schramm, was in a group setting during the seminar, and I was impressed with the amount of time he took to answer everyone's questions and his thorough explanation of both the RNY and the Lapband procedure. I also had a one on one consult with him after the seminar in which he took time to carefully go over my medical history and I answered his questions regarding my health. At the end of this consult, he held my hand in both of his and stated, \"We are going to be able to help you regain your health\". I knew I had found a caring doctor.rnrnOf course, on the day of my surgery, he completely relaxed me and I knew God had put me in his hands when before he left me in pre-op he laid his hand on my shoulder and prayed. My spirit soared and a wonderful calmness washed over me.rnrnThe only negative that I can say about him is that he is not \"chatty\". You will not get any small talk, he is strictly business but for me that's what I want. I depend on God to relax me, reassure me and guide me to the right people and God knows I don't want anyone who is a bit chatty..lolrnrnI must say that I have thanked God every day for guiding me to Barix Clinic and Dr. Schramm. rnrnOnce I have my next visit, I'll let you know about his post-op manner..;)rnrnPlease remember all statements here are purely my own personal statements and do not represent this website or the views of anyone else.
