Dr. Nye and his staff were all VERY nice and spent alot of time answering questions and making sure that my husband and I were comfortable with everything. The waiting room was a bit small and at times, had standing room only. As a NEW patient, I had a bit of a wait, but for those who were there for aftercare visits, were in and out in a flash! That's rare at doctors offices!

I was assigned Dr. Nye by my Ins. Co. and if I had done my own picking after much research could not have found a more caring and experienced doctor in my area. There's also more to the experience than just the doctor and it's his staff. I'm a 64 y/o male retired after 30 years military service and have had many doctors and have seen my share of medical staff personnel and this is by far the best I have ever had. I'm currently in post-op since 7 May and have had a much better experience than I had expected with this medical team.
I experienced a reaction to the anesthesia and had a very difficult 7 days until I was able to dissipate it's effect. Dr. Nye and his staff was there for me all the way and I was informed of the various problems that may occur. Seems like everyone at the hospital once told my doctor was Dr. Nye would tell me what a great surgeon and doctor I had. I might also add that he's done over 700 of these procedures.

June 27, 2002 I had my first appointment with Dr. Nye yesterday and it went great. There wasn't a long wait to see him and his nurses were very nice. The waiting room was very comfortable, but the bathroom is a little small. Dr. Nye explained all the types of surgery and recommended the best one for me. He gave me his background about his experiences with doing the surgery. He explained exactly what will happen from this point on, and he answered all of our questions. I will update more after he performs my surgery!!

My first appointment was on the 24th of Feb. The staff has been very friendly and informative. I learned alot. He answered all of my questions and then some.

3/26/03 I got my surgery date today!! It is the 1st of April. I am so grateful to the staff. They have been so awesome in putting up with me and my insurance. I have my preop appointment on Monday.

4/4/03 I came home yesterday. The surgery went great. Dr Nye is the best. He told me I would do well and he sure kept his word. So far no complications at all. I am almost afraid it is going too good to be true. The one thing about Dr Nye that stands out the most. He says dont cheat..follow the rules. I have and it works...so listen very closely and follow what you are told!!

I saw Dr. Nye for the first time today, April 3,2003. He was very personable and very professional. He also has a very good sense of humor which is always nice. He was straight to the point about the risks involving the surgery and also the risks if you don't do the surgery. I was very pleased with his office staff and him. When i arrived for my appointment(that was schedualed for 10:30am) I was told he was called to an emergency surgery at the hospital, when he came to the office approx. 1\2 hour later he apoligized to us for being late and causing us to have to wait. And even though he was running about 1 hour behind i don't feel like I was rushed at all. His nurse Rose was very nice, she asks you all of you medical history before you see the Dr. He was very concerned about my health and my well being, He talked to my husband in depth about how he felt about me wanting to have the surgery, and then thanked my husband for taking the time to come with me and gain a better understanding about what I am going through and how life is supposed to be. He drew a picture of the stomach and intestines on the exam table paper so that my husband and I had a life sized diagram to see and gain a better understanding of what will actually take place during the surgery. Overall I would rate Dr. Nye and his staff a 10, they were all so helpful with everything from questions about the surgery to questions about the insurance. They do their best to make sure that you are very comfortable with them.(I was very nervous when I got to the Dr.'s office but after talking to Dr. Nye and his staff my nervousness was gone I was totally comfortable with them) I would recommend Dr. nye to anyone who is looking to have weight loss surgery done by a very caring, compassionate and very proffessional staff!!!

I had my first appointment with Dr. Nye on 3/31/03. My husband went with me. He took the time to go over all the aspects of the surgery. He went over his personal statistics regarding the success rate of the patients he has treated. He was very thorough going over my medical history. He took the time to answer all my questions. I liked him as soon as I met him. He wasn't cold or impersonable like some surgeons. His staff were very friendly. As I was waiting to be called in, several of his other patients, waiting for their appointments, started talking to me about their experiences with this surgery, how much they have lost, why they chose Dr. Nye and all liked him very, very much. After talking to him, and the people in the waiting room, I feel very good about having this surgery. I have one last pre-op test to do, a ultra-sound of my gall-bladder and then I can have my surgery. His office is calling me today to schedule the ultra-sound and my surgery. They said I should have my surgery withing the next three weeks.

I had met Dr.Nye after he did surgery on my father last year. he seemed to have a great deal of compassion and a genuine concern for his patience's. He demostrated a confidence that he could help me in my struggle to gain control of my weight problem.

His office staff seemed very knowledgeble about the procedure and were able to answer any questions.

Dr. Nye was wonderful!! He will do anyhing you ask him to do with in reason. Your health is the most inportant thing to him. His staff is also wonderful. The minute they get your approval letter they are calling you to schedule your appointment. I have been very impressed by him and his staff.

Dr. Nye and his whole staff was very friendly and supportive. I got kind of emotional during my appointment when he started talking about how good I would feel after the surgery. His nurse came over and put her arm around me and said she understood. He answered all my question before I could even ask them. He was so thorough. He wants to see his patients every month for at least a year.

He was very open about the risks of surgery. He said that he had preformed 700 bariatric surgeries.

I would rate him as excellent overall.
I think his office manner was very professional and he seemed very competent on the surgical side also.

The only problem I had was when my insurance said the procedure was excluded, the staff was not very helpful in pointing me in the right direction. I guess because they are busy with people who have insurance that will pay.
