The first time I met Dr. Nye I was very comfortable with him. His bed side mannor was great.
My impresssion of him is still the same I would rate him a ten.
His office staff is very professional and treat you great every time you go in.
Dr Nye is very caring and he has your best intrests in mind when talking to you. I would say he is a very avid listener and is able to understand what you are asking.
I would have to say Dr Nye is a very competant surgically and his bedside manor is great. He went out of his way to make my husband and me both very comfortable before, durning, and after surgery. I would recomend him to anyone wanting to have this surgery.

Dr. Nye at first seemed to be very quiet and reserved... man was I wrong. He is a wonderful man with a very quick wit and even quicker smile. His staff is amazing and all seem to truly love what they are doing. They encourage calls about any concerns and make me feel like the most important person in the world. There is MAJOR emphasis on after-care. He is somewhat busy and waiting an hour for an appointment is the norm... that is the only negative part of my experience. However, they are in the process of addressing this by opening another area for post-ops who are more than a year out to alleviate over-booking problems. I would rate Dr. Nye and his staff a total 10!

I was impressed by Dr. Nye the first time that I met with him. I was his last person to see that day and he sat down and answered everything that I throw at him. His staff has been very helpful also.
He is wonderful, his staff is wonderful and I can't say enough about how important they made me feel.

I am not quite sure what I thought at first. I do know that after my first meeting with him I thought, that man is either going to be my hero or the best con artist I have ever met. Turns out he is my hero! He was completly honest about everything, and when I asked him what my final weight would be he told me. At the time (being 450 pounds) him telling me 180-200 pounds I though, this man is crazy! That was April 2002 and in July of 2003 I am 280! The staff is awesome! Rose is the best! Dr. Nye was very up front about the risks of the surgery which made me trust him more throughout the whole process. Words can not describe the feelings I have for this couple and their staff. They saved my life for sure!

I felt very comfortable with Dr. Nye and his office staff, they were all very friendly and helpful. He is very big on after care...he stresses the need to follow his routine he has mapped out after your surgery. He was straight forward and upfront about the risk, he didn't sugar coat anything. I think Dr. Nye is a very competant M.D. and I having worked in the medical field for 16 yrs. feel that surgical competence out weighs bed side manor, however I think Dr. Nye has both.

My first impression of Dr. Nye was good. He is a take charge kind of guy and exuded confidence. He made my husband and I feel very confident also. His office staff was very nice. Especially Rose. There were a few times I called to check on things and a person answered the phone that seemed sort of harrrassed. I like the fact that Dr. Nye seems to genuinely care about his patients. He seems to emphasize aftercare quite a lot. I work with a person who had surgery with Dr. Nye and she has been very well taken care of by his office. Dr. Nye addressed the risks of the surgery in a straight forward manner. I would rate the experience with Dr. Nye and staff excellent so far.

I finally met with Dr. Nye on June 9th. He was very friendly but seemed like he was in a hurry almost. No big deal since I really didnt have any questions for him. I went in..he told me a couple of things then a nurse came in and told me I needed to get some blood work done.
Overall..I am glad I have chosen Dr. Nye. He explained to me what could happen and even told me what happened to the few patients who didnt make it.
The best thing, to me, was when he told me they followed up with me for 5 years after the surgery. That is very comforting.

Well I had my consultation with Dr. Nye today and I must say that it was everything I expected. He answered all of my questions (most before I even asked) and even told me several things I wouldn't have thought to ask. His staff is wonderful. They are going to apply for my insurance approval this week so I'm crossing my fingers. If all goes well it looks like I'll have a date in the third week of July :) I had my psych evaluation several weeks ago as well as basic blood work, chest xrays, and the H-pylori test he requested. I was not told that I needed a 3 week food diary so I have to start that tomorrow. The only further testing that I will need is more thorough blood work and a sonogram to determine if he will take my gall bladder out or not. What I was most pleased about is the fact that he is able to do the lap RNY with only one 2-3 inch opening.

I think I was too excited to have a first impression!
I was very comfortable with him throughout the consultation.
the office staff was nice at the start of it but after they started putting my approval in, they got kinda rude with me.
The least thing I liked about Dr. Nye was that he was in the room and out very quickly.
He didn't really talk about the aftercare or risks.
I think I would rate him a 4 star out of 5
