Well i went to the PMRI center here in Wilmington Delaware today.I saw the Psyche Dr, the nutritionist and the nurse practitioner .All seems to be a go from them.I found out im not crazy but i am fat.Not sure if thats the lesser of two evils or not.I have a tentative surgery date of March 10th. Starting to get that anxiousfeeling because i see the light at the end of the tunnel now.If anyone has had their surgery done by Dr Irgau i would like to here about your experiences good or bad.Feel free to email me at [email protected] a great day.

Well i had my consult today and all the information was basically the same as when i went to the BTC in Langhorne PA.I like the program that they have here because it seems very thorough .You have to get the okay from everybody and there brother before they will even consider setting a date for surgery. On the other hand i dont like it because i slows the process down tremendously.I wonder if they make the time frame so long in order to give people time to back out and not make a rash decision. If so they are wasting there time with me because i am doing it one way or the other.I asked them if they have ever had any problems with BCBSDE and they said never so that is a comforting feeling. So now i have a battery of tests i have to have done so i guess ill make the calls and set up the appointments as fast as possible.Someone asked previously what they wanted after they had the surgery.Mine is simple in concept i guess.I just want to be able to buy clothes in the average size person section of a department store.Until next time take care.

Alan, good luck on the wls. You are doing the right thing. A new healthier life to share with your loved ones. Give your wife lots of reassurance and tell her how much you love her. Tell her about all the things you can do together when you are healthier. Be open and honest with her. I've been married 31 yrs and my husband is my best friend. He was worried about the surgery prior to our having gone to a support meeting. He got all his questions answered and felt much better.Listening to others provided us with more insight also. I am getting my preop tests done now and hope to have surgery in Dec.My husband is from Wilminton, De. by the way. Good luck. Leslie E.

Wow what an emotional ride and I am only in the consultation phase of things. I guess my biggest fear is that the surgery will do more harm than good. My biggest fear is leaving my kids all alone with out a father at a young age. My dad died of a massive heart attack when I was 17 years old I don’t want to have my kids grow up with out a father. That was the hardest thing I have ever done and I would never want my kids to go through something like that. On the other hand I am having the surgery to add years onto my life. My family has a history of weight related illnesses that shortened their life spans a great deal. I personally am not afraid to die but I don’t want to put my loved ones through it before it is time. I also have to deal with my wife thinking that I am going to leave her after I get “ thin “ .I have tried to reassure her but I don’t think she is buying any of it. We have been married going on ten years this January and has been pretty good for most of it. She doesn’t have any reason to believe that I would leave her so I guess I am looking for a way to reassure her of my love for her. Has anyone had to deal with these things and how did you get through it?
