Tired all the time

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to why I am so tired all the time. This is a relatively new symptom for me. I am 6 months out and just had my bloodwork done and everything is fine yet I am so tired. I slept for 12 hours last night and I could still go back to bed. Any suggestions about what could possibly be causing this or what I do to combat it would be great.

Thanks in advance.

What was your Ferritin number? It almost sounds like you have low ferritin. I have noticed many surgeons test iron, but don't test ferritin.

When mine was very low 4.5 all I wanted to do was sleep all the time. I ended up getting some iron infusions and switch iron pills. So far it is staying at or just above 100. My energy sometimes is off the charts. Hell a few weeks ago I woke up at 2:30 am on a Sunday and cleaned and cooked like the world was coming to an end.

Thanks for the advice I think my iron may be low as I noticed my gums seem a lot paper than normal. I see my dr on wed and left a message with my clinic so hopefully I can get it sorted out soon.

Adding more about ferritin: my level dropped from 125 to 25 within twelve months. When the nurse phoned to say the new, yearly level is 10, she asked, "don't you feel extremely fatigued?" My health history is to ignore, ignore, ignore so the answer was, "no, not really." ??Hormonal changes with rapid weight loss and general body adjustment is probably more what you are experiencing?? Just keep this post in the back of your mind to avoid my ignorance.

Initially I was not tired, but as of lately I have been. Then again, I can't keep anything down.... not even plain water (I'm actually at the doctor's office now getting IV fluids). Ugh!

Jan. 22, 2019 had RNY surgery. Please send positive thoughts and prayers my way. Thanks!

I am going to echo making sure your ferritin was checked. I had normal hemoglobin and low ferritin and needed an iron infusion.

Also how is your diet? Maybe you should talk to a dietician at your Bariatric office.
