Topic: I Updated My Laptop To Windows 10.

On March 9, 2016 I updated my laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. So far so good with Windows 10. Still trying to get use to Windows 10. I know at some point down the road I'll get use to Windows 10. Windows 10 is okay, it'll take time to know the new Windows 10 program. Only time will tell, right?

Topic: Windows 10 (Part 2)

I just found out that the release date for Windows 10 which is July 29, 2015, but you might have to wait until later to get it.

This is what Microsoft had to say by that "Microsoft said today that it would be rolling out Windows 10 in waves, "slowly scaling up" the rollout as it sees how things are going. The intention seems to be playing it safe and making sure that Windows 10 is getting a good response and running smoothly across the millions of different systems out there. Microsoft may even issue updates to Windows 10 between its July 29th release date and the time that some early adopters are actually able to download it.".

This is also what I have read on the internet from "The Verge" about Windows 10 (they did the paragraph above this one in the same article):

"

It sounds as though Windows Insiders — who are already testing Windows 10 — will be able to receive the update on July 29th. After that, people who have gone through the Windows 10 reservation process will begin to receive the ability to update to the new OS. When the rollout hits them, Windows 10 will download to their computers before they're presented with the option to update. It actually seems like a smooth and sensible update process, even if it may disappoint some who were hoping to jump in right on day one. Microsoft doesn't state how long it expects the rollout to take.

"Microsoft says that it's found the "vast majority" of systems running Windows 7 and 8 to be fully compatible with Windows 10. Manufacturers will have Windows 10 in their hands soon to begin putting it on new machines, and retailers will receive a separate build that can be used to help update eligible devices that were bought with Windows 8.1. Windows 10 Pro's availability will also begin on July 29th. Windows 10 Enterprise and Windows 10 Education will be available a few days later, on August 1st.".

In the pictures and videos that I saw about Windows 10 looks okay. It looks like it's better than Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1, but having the world of both Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1, but better in what I can tell/saw. It's like calling Windows 10 a "Windows 7.5" or something (that's what I think.).

This is what "Windows Insider" had to say about Windows 10 "This combines the strengths of Windows 8 with Windows 7." & "This Windows will definitely blow the other Windows versions out of the water.".

Let's see if Windows 10 will sell better than Windows 8. It's just a matter of time before we know that Windows 10 will catch on or not. It'll take time to get use to a new program once it come out. There'll be people that will like Windows 10, there'll be people that won't like Windows 10, and there'll be people that will think that Windows 10 is so so.

Lets see what happens by the time July 29, 2016 when Windows 10 is one years old if if become a hit or not in the PC world.

Topic: Internet Explorer

I found out recently that Microsoft might get rid of Internet Explorer (IE) or rename it at some point down the road.

Here is what I found out when I looked up about when I heard/read about Internet Explorer (IE):

The latest stable release is Internet Explorer 11, with an interface allowing for use as both a desktop application, and as a Windows 8 application.

Versions of Internet Explorer for other operating systems have also been produced, including an Xbox 360 version called Internet Explorer for Xbox and an embedded OEM version called Pocket Internet Explorer, later rebranded Internet Explorer Mobile, which is based on Internet Explorer 9 and made for Windows Phone, Windows CE, and previously, based on Internet Explorer 7 for Windows Mobile. It remains in development alongside the desktop versions. Internet Explorer for Mac and Internet Explorer for UNIX (Solaris and HP-UX) have been discontinued.

From January 12, 2016, only the most recent version of Internet Explorer on each operating system will be supported, depending on operating system it will be IE 11 or could be down to IE 9 for older desktop/server Windows versions or down to IE 7 for older embedded Windows versions.

On March 17, 2015, Microsoft announced that Spartan, will replace Internet Explorer as the default browser on its Windows 10 devices. Internet Explorer will, however, remain on some versions of Windows 10 primarily for enterprise purposes.

There's been talk about Windows 10 and by the looks of it it'll be out this year (2015):

Public release:

Windows 10 is expected to be released to manufacturing in mid-2015. While previous reports suggested a late-2015 release with an RTM in August (in line with past versions of Windows), it was reported that Microsoft wanted to ensure that devices running the operating system would be released in time for the Back to school shopping season in North America and the United Kingdom.

Users will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 using either an ISO image, or through Windows Update. Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 with prerequisite updates will support a direct upgrade path to 10 via Windows Update. Those using Windows 7 RTM, 8, or 8.1 without the prerequisite updates must upgrade using the ISO. A separate update with "some" of the changes of Windows 10 is planned for Windows RT; as such, Microsoft does not officially consider these devices to be compatible with Windows 10.

On February 2, 2015, Microsoft announced that it would provide a free ARM port of Windows 10 for Raspberry Pi 2 devices through its Internet of Things developer program.

Topic: Windows 8.1

Wow! Windows 8.1 is out. How is Windows 8.1? Is it better than Windows 8? Is there any difference between Windows 8 and Windows 8.1? What has been added to Windows 8.1 and what has been taken out of Windows 8.1? First unveiled and released as a public beta in June 2013, 8.1 was released to manufacturing on August 27, 2013, and hit general availability on October 17, 2013---almost a year since the original, retail release of 8.

Has anyone tried/used Windows 8.1? So, What does everyone think of Windows 8.1?

Topic: Has Anyone Tried/Used Windows 8?

I am wondering if anyone tried/used Windows 8? What do you think of it? Is it easy to use? Is it hard to use? Is it complicated to use it? Is it confusing to work with? Did you get use to it after a while? What do you think about windows 8? Can someone share with me on your insights about Windows 8? Is there anything else I should know about Windows 8?

Thank you in advance.

I'm sorry for asking all these questions about Windows 8. I'm just curious about Windows 8, that's all.

Topic: Working with my Ticker (not the heart kind LOL)

Hi folks:

I am fairly new around here and was playing around trying to figure out the "ticker" that folks have in their signatures.  I got the basis figured out but can't for the life of me figure out how to update it when I lose weight...if anyone wants to walk a newbie through the process, I would be grateful!!

Blessings,

Kim

Topic: Windows 8 Is Here.

Today (October 26, 2012) is the day that Windows 8 came out. There is talk that Windows 8 is the future. Not sure about that. To me, the way Windows 8 looks, it looks like it got a overall facelift and injected with steroids or something. There are a lot of mixed reviews about Windows 8. This is the first day for the new Windows 8, lets see how it evolves over time an if it will be successful or not. The new Windows 8 will be touch-screen version. I guess people that uses Windows have to upgrade there computer(s). Anything just to make money off of us. Technology is always changing. Lets see how the new Windows 8 does between now and this time next year to see if Windows 8 will succeed or not from Windows 7. I wonder what Sheldon Cooper (from The Big Bang Theory) has to say about Windows 8? Only time will tell.

Topic: Are You Looking Forward To Windows 8?

Is anyone looking forward to the launch of Windows 8 in late October 2012? I don't know if I'll like the new Windows 8 or not. I kind of like Windows Vista, but I like Window 7 a little bit more than Windows Vista. I guess it's good that Windows gets updated more often then usual lately. That's how it seem to me. As soon as you get use to a Windows program, then Microsoft updates there Window program with a new Windows program. And speaking of a new program coming out, Microsoft Office 2013 (formerly Office 15) will come out between October 19, 2012 and April 30, 2013 if this is correct on what I have read and understand. So, lets see what happens when Windows 8 and Microsoft Office 2013 comes out. I wonder if they will be any good or not let along if these two new programs going to have any bugs in the programs when the two comes out. There is only one way to find out and that is when the two programs comes out.
