Gary Anthone, MD, FACS Organization
3/06/01
I just returned from Los Angeles with my consultation with Dr. Anthone. I thought he was very straight forward and up front. He went over all the risks involved with surgery and I found him to be very likeable. He says I'm a good candidate for surgery. I will call tomorrow to give his office the go ahead to get approval from my insurance company. So far so good!
Dr. Anthone was a wonderful surgeon with a great bedside manner. I felt very confident under the care of Dr. Anthone and Maria (RN). As a healthcare professional, I felt as if his knowledge and technique was superb. The office staff make evey attempt to fit you in on clinic days and the aftercare program is good (not structured) so far.
I had my consultation with Dr. Anthone on October 30th, 2000. What was really funny, I got on the elevator and he asked me what floor I wanted and I told him 5th floor. He replied by saying "Oh, you're on you way to see me!" I was very impressed with him. Dr. Anthone seems to be humble and very personable. He lets you know of the dangers and complications of the whole picture. Now I am waiting for insurance approval and just hope and pray that it is approved!!!!!!
Dr. Gary Anthone is a wonderful surgeon and person. He is very caring about his patients and only wants the best for them. He takes his time with the surgery and is not concerned about breaking any speed records.
He has true empathy for the obese and wants the best surgery and best results for his patients.
I know many of his patients and they feel the same as I do.
He is very busy so it takes a long time to get a consult.
MY SURGEON WAS DR. GARY ANTHONE AT USC UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER. MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF HIM VERY GOOD. HE WAS VERY PERSONABLE AND WARM. HE WENT THROUGH THE WHOLE EXPLANATION OF THE SURGERY WITHOUT LEAVING ANYTHING OUT. HE DIDNT SUGAR COAT ANYTHING, HE SAID IT HOW IT WAS.HE IS VERYCARING TOWARDS HIS PATIENTS.MY IMPRESSION OF HIM GOT EVEN BETTER AS TIME WENT ON. MARIA IS HIS NURSE SHE ALSO IS VERY NICE, SHE WAS WITH ME SUPPORTING ME RIGHT UP TILL 2 MIN BEFORE SURGRY.=). ANGIE IS THE GIRL WHO ANSWERS THE PHONE SHE SEEMS NICE I DONT REALLY KNOW HER. ITS A VERY BUZY OFFICE, SO YOU NEED TO WRITE DOWN ALL THE QUESTIONS YOU HAVE FOR HIM BEFORE YOU SEE HIM OR YOU MIT MISS SOMETHING. OVERALL I RATE HIM FROM 1-10 A 20.HE IS FABULOUS.
Dr. Anthone is a caring man. He is one of the very few doctors that actually listened to me when I discussed my weight. I would have no hesitation refering anyone to him.
They haven't changed other than to become closer to him, He always ask about my husband by name and willing listens if I have any questions.
I love his office manager Maria she is warm and caring although she can be a bit brisk until she know that you have become approved and one of Dr. Anthone's patients.
I have yet to find anything I dislike about him although he has become so busy that I hear that the waiting time just for a consult is 2-3 months.
He a caring man as well as a fine surgeon.
1 week, 3 weeks 2 months, 6 months and 1 year.
Yes Dr. Anthone explained that all major surgery has serious side effects including death.
On a scale of 1 to 10 he is an 11.
He is great in both.
I have nothing but wonderful praise for Dr Anthone. I feel like he gave me my life back. After reading some of the stories and chatting with people that have had the surgery I think I had the best possible care there is. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Anthone and his wonderful staff.
I saw Gary at USC medical center. I saw Dr. Milton Owens at a seminar in Lancaster, CA. I like both doctors. They have structured aftercare programs. Dr. Anthone said that I could die in surgery because I have atrial fibrulaton also. They are both excellent doctors. Dr. Owens' office hasn't gotten back to me yet, even though I saw them on August 8th. I have personally talked with Dr. Anthone in an orientation and liked what he had to say. He was very honest and very sincere.
