I was very pleased with Dr. Halmi when I first met him. He is a very confident man, and always makes me feel confident in my decision to have the surgery because of his lack of worry. I am impressed with the amount of pre-op testing he requires. I have spoken with other people who've had the surgery who said they did not have any pre-op testing.
Deana, the dietician, is extremely nice, helpful, and knowledgeable.
The only complaint that I have so far (still pre-op by a month), is that I have scheduled numerous appointments with both Dr. Halmi and Deana that have had to be rescheduled because they later find out that they have a conference or meeting to attend.
**Now that I am post-op, everything with the office is still going great. I did have a problem when I ran out of pain meds and had to call for more. I called them at 9am, and they didn't call me back until 5:30 that night, but they did call in a prescription for me, which I was able to pick up that night. Dr. Halmi has been a dream though. He is still as confident as ever, as nice as ever. He's the best!!!

I loved Dr. Halmi from the first time we met.He is a wonderful surgeon and person. His office staff in Fairoaks was wonderful. It was a joy to go to each visit and I couldn't wait for the next one.There was nothing that I did not like about Dr. Halmi he would go out of his way for all his patients.Dr. Halmi takes the time to listen and answer all your questions and concerns and makes sure you understand all risk involved with the surgery and the positive part as well.He emphasized the importance of aftercare and provides all the help you need to obtain this care. He explained to me in detail what would be done for the surgery to be a sucess and all I would be going through after the sugery in great detail.I rate him as an excellent surgeon and if I had to ever do it over again I would and with him.His surgical competence and bedside manner is excellent. He is not only a surgeon but a person who cares to help people live a healhty and long life.

Good - a close friend who is an RN recommended me to him as she had surgery too! Very nice man - reputation is that he is a very good surgeon. Staff is pleasant, competent, and professional (and very busy! -you may have to call a few times to get what you need).

Aftercare.....fine, but you need to be vocal - this is a busy office.

Dr. Halmi was very open and honest - he did not "push" the surgery on me at all, but explained the pros and cons to me in an easy to understand way.

I would rate him a 9 out of 10

I think Dr. Halmi is a competent surgeon who has a good bedside manner. I strongly reccomend him to anyone interested in gastric bypass

He and his staff were grea. They walk you through the process and will offer advice pre and post op; with no hesitation.

Wonderful man would refer him to anyone.The office stakk are the best always will to do whatever it takes to help.All the staff are there for you before and after.Dr was very informative covered the risks and give all the help he could.

Dr. Halmi has been wonderful. He is very professional and I have all the confidence in the world in him. Aftercare program is very specific and in depth.

Dr. Halmi radiates concern and care. He makes eye contact with me and that says to me that he looks at me like I am not just another surgery. I am Tara. My cousin and another friend of mine had surgery done by Dr. Halmi and they rave about him. The one thing that impressed me about Dr. Halmi is that his nurses are always smiling. They all think he is pretty great too and that tells me alot!! His staff is professional and they provide discreet support to you. And they celebrated with me when I finally got my auth #. I am looking forward to being cared for by this wonderful Dr. and his awesome staff.
He addressed all the risks and alot of emphasis is on aftercare. Healthy eating. Relearning to eat. This office also addresses the emotions aspects of the surgery. Depression, frustration, and the emotional dependance on food. I believe he offers a very well balanced program. Not just a surgical procedure.

My first impression of Dr. Halmi is that he knows his stuff. He was extremely informative and answered every question that my husband and I had. His office staff are great. They are very helpful, and even got excited with me when they told me I was approved for the surgery.

I first met Dr Halmi just over a year ago,
Sept 8, 2003. My impression of him that
day and to this day is, he is a wonderful,
caring man with a great bedside manner! Dr Halmi explained things to me in great detail,
so I fully understood what would happen pre/op and post/op, and of course, the surgery itself. I developed pneumonia the day after my surgery and was in ICU for 6 days and the hospital for 12 days. Dr Halmi visited me every day and consulted with the pulmonary drs, and kept reassuring me about my surgery. I have not had any problems due to the surgery, and it is because of Dr Halmi and his great staff!

I think Dr. Halmi and Deanna are wonderful. They put a lot of time, effort and caring into their patients. I am always impressed that Dr. Halmi comes to the support group meetings. So far so good!
