Tampa General Hospital (COE) Hospital
Tricare Prime
So far things have gone well with Tricare. I am on Tricare Prime and go to the MacDill Clinic here in Brandon. I saw my PCP in July 2005 and talked to her about having the surgery, she was positive and very supportive, telling me what Tricare says the process is. I have to see her or a nutritionist once a month for 6 months, go for a psychologist eval for depression, see the nutritionist at least once, have a sleep study, and have blood work(once at the begining of process and again in the 5 th visit). Tricare has not stalled at all. They give approval in 3 days or less. Dealing with them has been easier than dealing with the surgeons office. I think that I am lucky to have them as my insurance provider.
They have a lot of construction going on, which is a pain, however, everyone is very helpful when you are there. The only think my husband and I noticed is that when we pushed the nurse button, they did not rush into help, but they also did not ignore us at all. This is only my 2nd time in a hospital, and it was an ok experience.
