The nurses were fantastic, especially Mandy, one of my night nurses. Everyone was very helpful and tried to make things as comfortable as possible. The night nurses were espsecially nice about trying to avoid waking me to check my vitals. They knew that I was having some trouble sleeping at night, so they would come in and if I was actually asleep, they would wait to take my vitals last. The technicians who drew my blood in the middle of the night were equally polite about having to wake me around 3am, and everyone I got was wonderfully skilled. The only test that even hurt was the pre-op ABG (arterial blood gas) and I hear that is a painful test anyway. The only complaints I had were that one night, maintenance was running the floor waxer at 4am, but the nurses came and shut our door, so it wasn't too bad.

Dr. LePort was focused and ready to answer my questions -- I felt assured.
I actually grew to like him more over time -- perhaps "like" isn't the right word -- I grew to trust him.
I liked all his office staff -- efficient and decent. They are also VERY busy, so be prepared to leave a message.
Dr. LePort is very busy, so it was hard to actually see him for follow-up.
He's serious about this surgery and will give it to you straight. He also performs only RNY (open and lap).
Dr. LePort's office and he himself emphasizes aftercare and offers a monthly support group which they really want you to join.
Dr.LePort was very straight-forward about the risks associated with the surgery. That's what made me wait over two years before I knew I was ready to die.
I give Dr. LePort the best rating possible!
His surgical competence is renown and his beside manner is decent.

He was wonderful! Caring and very well skilled. I could not of been in better hands! I had complete confidence in his skills and medical background. I went into my surgery in peace, knowing that I had done my homework, and had one of the finest surgeons in the bariatic field! I would highly recommend Dr. Leport.

The chairs that one has to sit in are quite uncomfortable. Reclining chairs or rockers would be great or with back padding a must!

The nutritionist never came, the nursing staff was non existent and when call buttons were pressed, the nursing staff did not come as needed. I was in the same gown and same bed linens for days without a sponge bath or shower. IV bags went unchanged for hours when empty and forget needing anything from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. It was very bad.
