My biggest frustration was their inablity to take care of something as simple as bottled water, there wasn't a lot of flexibility with patient care.

The ONLY thing I would complain about is the beeping for a patient call. OMG, it nearly drove me insane....LOL When a patient would push their call button, it would beep in the hall with the light above the door blinking. The longer it took a nurse to get to you the more it beeped....It drove me absolutely NUTS!!!

First off, my surgeon, Dr. Weiss, took incredible care of me and I couldn't be more pleased with his work. My post-op hospital care wasn't as excellent, however, I did have one really great nurse who made my first day/night the best it could be. I was not happy with receiving the wrong food several times but they were quick to fix the error. I did run a fever and never received my Tylenol. That was hard. I am not a "complainer" at all, I just think that without honest feedback, there is little motivation for improvement. All in all, I was only there 48 hours and I would rate my stay as fair.

On the day I was supposed to leave, they had a fire several floors below my room. The only response they gave me was to close my door! I was upset by the fact that they didn't even tell any patients that they could potentially be in danger!

Communication and follow thru was very poor after surgery. No one seems in charge of making sure things are done. I waited over 4 hrs for a resident when I said I was having difficulties breathing. I have asthma. Someone should have responded quickly. I also went over 12 hrs without pain meds because I was having an allergic reaction to the meds, the nurse had called the pain management team and no one responded. These two things were on seperate days and I was only in the hospital 4 days. It seemed there were too many specialists and no one taking care of my overall care.

The staff on the unit I was on were great. Even though they are busy they always came in asking how your pain levels were and if they could help. I was pleased with my care.
