This hospital has a newly opened bariatric wing. It is a very nice facility but it does get noisy at night. They could also use a few RNs on the night shift that are good at drawing blood and starting IVs.

Dr Diaz was very pleasant, kind and proffesional. He was understanding, and I felt no blame or shame from him. The office staff and Nurses a U.S. Bariatric are all very nice. A very large pecentage of them have had the gastric bypass surgey themselves and so are very understanding, of the things patients are going through.
They are very into educating the paitent, and making sure you have support.
I am really pleased with them.
There is tons of pre op education and a great post-op education program. They continually emphazed that I would need to attend the support meetings and made me sign a contract to keep all appts after the operation.

I had a very positive experience at St. Vincent's, Carmel. The staff was very helpful and supportive. The anesthesiologist and Dr. Jones were very reassuring and I don't think the whole experience could have been much better.

I was on the new Bariatric Unit, but I was put in the smallest room on the floor. The bed would creak loudly & jerk badly when anything was tried to be adjusted. Due to my room being right by the floor door, and having a nursing station more inside...it got really loud at times. On the good side, my husband was allowed to stay with me the whole time.

When I first met Dr Inman I didn't realize it was her I was talking to, LOL. I thought it was one of the nurses or something calling me back and when I asked a question I said "how does Dr Inman decide whether the patient is a candidate for lap or open surgery?" She said, "well I am Dr Inman," and she went on to explain how she decided and I thought oops, don't I feel stupid now LOL.
I don't think she has a real joking humor or anything, but she is an excellant and caring Dr and would do anything to help you when you are sick.
The office staff is very nice, they helped me get my approval, but once you do get your approval it does take a few weeks to get the call with your surgery date, but they do them in order so when they get to your file you'll get the call. All in all though she is great and I would highly recommend her.

When I finally made the decsion to have the surgery, my primary care physician referred me Dr. Inman. I've met her twice, but only for brief encounters. Not had a real thorough sit down with her. Seems very nice and personable. In doing my research about the surgery, I talked to two co-workers who had had the surgery...and they BOTH had Dr. Inman. Their opinions of Dr. Inman, and their results, are both positive. I feel comfortable with her.

I did have two incidents that effected the overall rateing of my hospital stay. 1. I was awakened in the middle of the first night for a blood draw which took 3 staff members and 14 sticks to finally draw, very painful when you don't feel good anyway. 2. also the first night I was made to get up and told that in addition the the morphine plunger, that I was self administering everytime I woke up, I had been left on the morphine drip following surgery by mistake. My vital signs had plunged and if I wasn't able to get up and come too they where considering administering narcan to bring me off the morphine. Very Scary..

My hospital stay was excellent. They let my husband stay with me the whole time. They gave him a cot to sleep on and plenty of pillows and blankets. Also every morning they would go over head and say a prayer for everyone and everynight a another prayer was said. Very comforting. All the nurses were great! Very nice hospital for bariatric people have their own wing. Beautiful with butterflies hanging around has you walk. One of the best hospitals!!
