St. Luke's Weight Management Center Bethlehem Hospital
At only 3100 employees, St Luke's is not an enormous, hell-bent-for-leather medical complex. Rather, it's small, staffed with friendly, competent people. The hospital is on the cutting edge in technology, has been comfortably remodeled, and is immaculate, inside and out. The rooms are private, with 24/7 visiting hours. Dr H's patients are assigned bari beds - larger and much more comfortable than regular beds, they can be adjusted into a zillion different positions - including standing upright, which is a huge help for us larger patients right after surgery. This hospital will be the gold standard for me from now on. I can't recommend it enough.
The recovery nurses were wonderful, and the night time ICU nurses (especially Daniel) were angels. The day time ICU nurses lacked any sense of compassion, but I was not exactly critical at that point. The only problemI had was waiting to get into a regular room. I was stuck in ICU for a long time, and they would not let me get up and walk. The night nurses on the regular floor were great too. They just made you feel good.
