I was first taken a back by this doctor when I first met him. He wears a bow tie and I thought all doctors who wore bow ties were funny. My impression did change over time. He is a wonderful doctor so I don't let first impressions fool me. His office staff is also great. There is nothing I did not like about Dr Graber. Future patients should know that he has a wonderful success rate. He is very strict on his after care. But he is only looking out for his patients. He does have a structured aftercare program and he did address the risks of surgery. He is a wonderful surgeon. To me, surgical competence and bedside manner are both great, which Dr. Graber does have.

Dr Graber was quite thorough in explaining all that could be expected if one had this surgery.rnHe went over most of the problems and/or side issues that could occur, with this surgery.rnrnHe spent a goodly amount of time trying to ensure that one understood exactly what they were about to have done.rnrnOver time so far, He is available if you have questions or need to be checked or examined.rnrnHis office staff are very curteous and try to be as helpful as they can.rnrnHe does emphasize aftercare. I have been back to New Hartford 3 times so far.rnrnI will then have to see him 4 months after that in May 2006, then 6 months out after that appt. Not sure after that?rn**rnI will give these questions more thought and update with any negative thoughts of things that happened...before and after surgery.**rnrnHe did not emphasize risk of the surgery but of course there is always risk and one had to sign many papers that one understood what the risks could possibly be.rnrnI give Dr Graber a very good rating. He was thorough and paid strict attention to making sure that I would be OK.rnrnEven with all my medical problems, Dr Graber told me that it was a \"beautiful\" surgery and that he had no problems with me, in the operating room.rnrnSurgical competence is most important, but bedside manner is also important. Dr Graber gets good marks on both accounts.rn*********************rnThe above information is just my personal impression of my surgery and care from Dr Graber and his staff. I am making no statements about what other people may experience.**********************

I think Dr Graber provides superlative care and expertise in bariatric surgery. I am extremely happy and feel lucky to have had him as my surgeon. His practice is 100% dedicated to bariatric surgeries. rnrnWhen I first met Dr Graber it is obvious he knows his business inside and out. He spends as much time as you need to go through everything and answers every question completely and makes sure you understand the good, the bad and the ugly. He has set up a complete program for his patients, tracking their advances and any health issues. He ensures that patients understand that this tool is of a limited time and that the individual patient has to be wise to use it to relearn their relationship with food and movement. rnrnHe is not a jolly person - but i wouldn't respect him as much if he was. He's intelligent, personable and caring in his way. He focuses on the mechanics of the surgery - and leaves the emotional stuff to other staff members. People look at my incisions and notice what a fabulous job was done. In the hospital, other doctors, RNs, etc. all respect and admire him. That's a good thing to know that his colleagues think highly of him.rnrnHe has surrounded himself with excellent staff. So far, they have all been responsive, helpful and knowledgeable in their specific areas. If they don't know something, they seek out the answers.rnrnThis is the best thing I ever did for myself - and I couldn't have done it without Dr Graber. He's a Godsend to me.

I met Dr. Graber and his staff today, for my consultation. I've had a 4hr. drive home and all I can say is wow!rnrnFirst off his staff are amazing. He has to have the friendliest most helpful staff ever! It's the first time at another Dr's office (aside from my family Dr.) that I felt they actually cared about me and my health. His staff are truly there for you and to help you!rnrnSecondly, Dr. Graber is a very delightful man and very likeable. I was extremely nervous going into this appointment, I was seriously worried for nothing!rnrnAfter meeting and consulting with Dr. Graber, I am entirely at ease and very ready to start my \"new life.\" I seriously feel that I am in very capable hands. I will admit at first I didn't know how to \"take\" Dr. Graber, but after talking to him for a lengthly period, I am very happy to have him as my surgeon I know for certain I am in good - no - great hands! He is the perfect mix of personalities for his job - he made it clear that the surgery is a tool for weight loss, not an answer! and that there are complications and one is and could be death, so it is very important to do your post-op care and listen to them!rnrnSome things that really put me at ease were: (1) His office chairs are for \"BIG\" people, it sounds awful but after so many years of :::squeeeeezing::: into waiting room chairs these were heavenly! My legs didn't even touch the sides! (THANK YOU DR. GRABER)...(2) His \"triage type\" nurse was amazing, she had so many answers for me, she was amazingly easy to talk to and so down to earth...(3) Dr. Graber is the perfect mix of \"to the point\" and \"easy going\", I didn't leave feeling like he was a total jerk, and I didn't leave feeling like he was a total joke who didn't take is seriously, I am confident!...(4) The hospital where the surgery happens is not a teaching hospital, I know it sounds awful cause' everyone has to learn, I'm just not comfortable with them learning on me :SrnrnI could go on forever, but I will stop now until I have my surgery and experience his bed side manner.

The first time I meet Dr. Graber he was very encouraging. He knew exactly why I wanted to have the surgery. I'm sure most doctors are supportive but my family and friends were not . So it felt good that he was. He put me at ease about the surgery and me recovery. His staff was very nice and welcoming. They answered all my questions every time I called. I called alot. The thing I wasn't crazy about was that I didn't see him much after my surgery. I saw his PA three times and she sat and talked with me about going home and my diet. I wouldn't change a thing all went well. I am happy and healthy. That makes me very appreciative.

My First appointment was Oct 30th 2007. I met with Lisa his nurse first and then the doctor. It was a very positive expierience for me. All his staff were great! Both Lisa and Dr Graber were very pleasent and answered all my questions. I have to say that going into the appointment I was very nervous about the whole thing but after talking with them I felt much better. Still nervous but not as much. I think having a better idea of the whole process helps alot. I know this may sound silly but after sitting in Doctor office chairs over the years I felt a great deal of relief after sitting in one of Dr Grabers wonderfully comfortable chairs. It was built just for people like me. It's a little thing but knowing that they had prepared for the comfort of people my size made me feel they really did care.

My first impression of Dr. Graber was great he was very informative and his staff is wonderful. I would have liked to hear more about the after care I will be needing, and overall I would say he is a good surgion and has a good bedside manner.

I met with Dr. Graber on 10/02/07. First off his staff is very helpful and they put NO pressure on you! Then I met with Dr. Graber, he has a good sense of humor. He made me feel at ease right away. He let me know upfront that I was under no pressure, but so far nothing has worked and that is why I was there. There is no doubt about it, he puts his patients first. How awesome is that. I am looking forward to having my surgery in December.
