St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center Hospital
I have not meet him yet but i am going in for a consult on October 8.
Dr. Graber was great. His office staff is even greater. They are helpful, patient and courteous. His skill was a surgeon was amazing! Very minimal pain and I felt great in no time. His bed-side manner is very short and to the point but overall he was great to have and he is very informative in the very short amount of time he does see you.
I met my surgeon on July 23, 2007. I was very nervous about this first appointment with him. I had nothing to be nervous about. He was great. He is a no nonsense kind of guy with a sense of humor who will tell you exactly what is on his mind. No sugar coating it from him (thankfully). He was patient, informative, answered any question I had and some I never thought to ask. He explains the entire surgical procedure so you can understand it without confusion. I didn't feel rushed through, or unimportant. rnrnHis office staff is great!!!! I have only been a few times but so far they are very nice and easy to talk with. And the best thing is it really feels genuine. You really feel that you have people behind you 100% for the first time ever. Everyone I have met at there office is committed to seeing you through every step of WLS. They have set up all my appointments from now until my surgery date. They are also \"dealing\" with my insurance company for approval so I don't have to at this point.rnrnBoth Dr. Graber and his staff stress aftercare a lot. Lots of pre-op and post-op appointments, support groups before and after surgery. Long term communication between you and the office. (I will be able to add more once I go through surgery and my other apts. i'm sure)rnrnI know theres not a negative word in here. I am sure not everyone would like Dr. Graber as much as I did right off. If you want a Dr. to pat you on the hand and tell you it's all ok then he is not the Dr. for you. I wasn't joking when I said he will tell you what he thinks. I prefer this type of Dr. A good friend of mine is also a patient of his and she does not like his \"bed side manner\" she feels he is to gruff, to blunt for her tastes and that he could use a little compassion. I disagree.rnrnI will write more once I have progressed further through my wls journey......rnrnI think my overall rating for Dr. Graber would be a solid 9 at this point. rn
Dr. Graber is a very friendly knowledgelabe may. He made me feel comfortable from the start. I have contacted him by e-mail and he has always replied in a timely informative manner.rnI am so impressed with his well organized office staff. They are very helpful answering all my questions.rnI liked his manner of covering everything I should know pre & post surgery. He and his staff have been extremely helpful and encouraging. Their lists of things to have done for pre-op are very comprehensive. The teaching about what we are going to be getting into is one on one . Yes the the risks of surgery are covered in detail He;s done over 1000 of them! He & his staff are so generous with their time and help!rnHe stresses after care and provides information about how to go about getting it. I am an Ontario Patient & Dr. Graber has met with my physician Dr. R. Dent . Both are continuing to provide full aftercare, nutrician & exercise counselling. rnI would consider Dr. Graber as an excellent surgeon, cometent, friendly and informative.rnI feel he really does care about each and every individual patient he has and treats me with dignity and respect. Without any question , I would recommend him .
Met Dr. Graber on Monday for the first time. This guy is the bomb!! He has a fantastic sense of humour but is also very serious and up front when need be. I can't wait for my surgery and have total faith in Dr. Graber and his staff!!
Dr. Graber is personally engaging and informative. It is clear that he takes a great deal of interest in his patients and their well-being.rnrnHe projects the kind of confidence of a person who knows his craft well, and is very forthcoming about the risks & benefits of surgery and with the overall process.rnrnAs a Canadian, who had OHIP funding for an out-of-country procedure, Dr. Graber and his office have been a pleasure to work with. They have worked hard to ensure that there's a known process for cross-border patients and that we are well-informed as to the process and the expectations we should have in working with themrnrnThe aftercare program is excellent, and this is where Dr. Graber shows tremendous interest in how his patients are progressing, and provides meaningful guidance and answers all questions thoroughly.
My first impression of Dr. Graber during my first visit was that he is professional and that he is very thorough. He told me about the entire process from start to finish. He went over the appointments I needed to go to and things that needed to be done before the surgery, described the surgery procedure itself, what the surgery is intended to do, the risks involved, and what to expect post-op. He was very open and honest with his success rate and at the time had done about 1,000 RNY's. He also stresses how important it is to go to the support group meetings before and after your surgery. rnrnHe is happy to answer any questions you might have and makes you feel that you are important to him. I never felt rushed and he took his time with me. He also has a good sense of humor which made him even more appealing to me. I left his office feeling that I had made a great decision when choosing a surgeon.rnrnHis office staff is very friendly and always able to help me out if I have a question or to check in to see whether they had all the info they needed in order to get my insurance approval. Once they had all my info they submitted it to my insurance (RMSCO) and I had an approval within 3 days. I honestly think that having an office staff that knows what the insurance company needs is essential in getting through all the red tape with the insurance companies. rnrnI would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Graber to anyone looking for a surgeon in the Central New York area. In fact I know that there has been many patients who have traveled as many as 6 hours one way and as far away as Canada for an appointment with him each month. I feel very lucky to have him as my surgeon.
