Saint Clare's Health System (COE) Hospital
I felt very comfortable there... they were very concerned about my needs and took every effort to meet them. Thanks
The hospital is realitively new to gastric bypasses. They don't yet have an area for just this so the room you share may have an eating patient in it.. that wasn't pleasant. The CCU was wonderful - very attentive and caring.. The nurse's aids on the regular floor were excellent as well as the nurses that seemed alittle overwelmed at times.
Monmouth Medical is awesome! St. Clares is very long and windy as well as tall. It's easy to get lost in, but the nurses are really nice. However, watch out for the students when they are pushing your bed!!! The ones I got weren't very good drivers!! The only thing about the parking that was irritating was that the Visitor's Parking lot was flooded out most of my stay due to remnants of Hurricane Jeanne. (But that isn't their fault.)
I wanted to let everyone know about the staff members in the hospital especially those in the ccu ward. One in particular whose name is paul. he was the best nurse that I had. i enjoyed his company and he made me feel wonderful especially when i was in alot of pain. he spoke with my surgeon and told him that the pain medication prescribed to me was not doing it's job and was able to get another prescribed. he also was efficient in getting me my 3 ccs of ice chips which i looked forward to every hour on the hour. Paul thanks for your extra special care and God bless you and your family.
I was given the honor of being the first gastric bypass patient at this hospital, my surgeon operates out of another hospital as well. I don't really have any BAD comments, but an experience in radiology left me feeling as if maybe some of the staff should be more sensitive to Wls patients, also, I think that maybe Wls patients should be paired together in rooms, I shared a room with a person who had knee surgery, and her meal trays, just the smell of the trays made me so queasy. Finally, I think staff should know that patients CAN have items from a liquid diet. I only had ice while I was there, but I was OK.
