I think that Dr Rovito is a superior surgeon, he is a general surgeon and is great at it all. </B></font>

Dr Rovito offered me a life saving surgery with minimun invasion. Over time he has continually counseled me as if I was the only patient he was concerned about. His personal manner is both friendly and professional. He did a laproscopic procedure and I was in and out of the hospital in 36 hours.

Dr. Rovito is a confident man, and has many years of experience doing gastric bypass surgery. His office staff are Karen and Barbara who were professional and courteous towards me and my questions.

I have not met him yet. My appointment is Nov 7th, 2001. I did speak to Karen on the phone. She was wonderful. I will update next week.
I met Dr Rovito today 11/7/01 and I have a date 2/11/02.....
I really liked him. He was very funny and nice. I felt like I have known him for a while.

I am so glad I had my surgery done by Dr Rovito. My life has changed so much!

My surgery was the best thing I have done for myself and I would not have let anyone else do it.

Everything Dr. Rovito has told me has been true. That's so important. He has been patient, informative, kind and witty. I think he really knows his stuff and I feel fortunate to have found him.

I met with Dr.Peter Rovito today, and found him to be very friendly. My husband and I immediately liked him. I had been to another surgeon first and have choosen Dr. Rovito because he can do this LAP instead of open, and I liked his outgoing nature. His office staff seem caring and willing to help, Karen and Barbara had me laughing - and we had just met. My hubby is still against this surgery, but it is my decision.

I have to go for a second visit (H&P and stuff) prior to surgery and will keep you all posted about pre-op and after-care.

Well he has no aftercare program, which I really think is important - but I still want him to do the surgery.

UPDATE 4-26-01 SURGERY IS OVER AND I HAD COMPLICATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- I am in a lot of pain and I hope to have better news in the coming weeks! Read my profile to follow up.

U P D A T E: 5-2-01 I went to see Dr. Rovito today, he cleaned my infected site and said it is getting better, my thigh will take time (since I now have a nerve problem in my thigh from surgery). My tongue is still black from the meds, but hopefully that will get better quick.

U P D A T E: JULY, 2001 Dr. Rovito referred me to a gastro doc for a EGD with balloon dilation (this is done in the hospital) - I have had this done twice. I hope this is the end of my problems with getting the stoma stretched.

U P D A T E: September, 2001 - I have been back to see Dr. Rovito and he feels I am doing much better. I go back again in November.

U P D A T E: November, 2001 - Still losing weight but am losing my hair like crazy. Doc says not to worry it will grow back - I hope so. I am now wearing a wig. I go back in February 2002.

U P D A T E: FEBRUARY, 2002 I went for my 10 month check up at Dr. Rovito's office. He says I doing great - down 123lbs. Although I still have a dent in my one incision where I had that infection way back when... He said "no hernia" and other than the dent, I am doing great - come back at the end of May, 2002. So I guess my quest continues...

U P D A T E: APRIL 2002 I JUST WANT TO SAY WHAT A WONDERFUL - WONDERFUL - DOCTOR THIS IS. I WAS IN SEVERE PAIN AND CALLED HIM, HIS OFFICE SAID TO GO STRAIGHT TO THE HOSPITAL - HE WAS THERE - HE ADMITTED ME AND WAS IN MY ROOM SO MANY TIMES - HE IS THE BEST I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE HAD THIS DOC IN MY CORNER - THANK YOU DOCTOR ROVITO!!!!

He was very nice,compassionate, upbeat.
On my last visit he was a howl. Told me that I was actually very thin around the middle and that it would be a breeze to operate on me. Thin == at 375 or more. Thats a laugh. His staff were nice, although they have no time for the insurance companies and I had to do the calling. Fortunately I work for mine so it wasn't so bad. Dr. Rovito helped me up onto the table and my legs hurt so bad I almost fell over on him. Wouldn't that have been something. I would have been on a wanted poster seeing that he now has a waiting list for almost a year. Must be that advertisement saying the chick was figure skating after three days. If you legs are hurting prior to surgery how could they stop hurting and have you up on ice skates in three days. Whatever!
I liked him; I have confidence in him and I will let you know the rating post surgery.

Dr. Rovito first reminded me of an attorney. He was in a suit, dressed to the "T"and a not so typical Dr.'s office. Talking with him felt very comfortable as he was very confident and answered many of the questions I had written down and brought with me from home. I just had my second visit with him and its so nice to actually have someone who "listens" and just not hear you. His office staff are very caring and really do want only the best for you. The "Attorney" impression left the minute we sat down and I am only hoping someone out there has had him and can give me further imput as to their surgery and having him for their surgeon. He has arranged for my pre-op testing to include cardiogram and blood work. He has been very forthright on the risks of surgery but also on his experience and pros. for me.

Doc. Rovito was very professional. He was also very upfront and clear about the procedure. He has a very kind and friendly manner with a good sense of humer. He also cares very much for his patients. Over time I have grown to trust and like him more and more. His office staff are friendly and caring and are very helpful through all the insurance ect. Doc. Rovito has preformed these procedures for 10 or more years. I saw the Doc every week then every 2 weeks and now every month since the surgery. He checks weight and any problems with eartng ect. He does not have any structured support group or after care program but is available when ever needed or if any question arises for his patients. My second visit with Doc. R. before surgery he explained in detail any and all risks of surgery. I give Doc R. a 10. I don't really have anything negative to say.But I must also say that I went to him very prepared and well versed on this subject. I did my homework and had two family members that had bariatric surgerys.neither one my surgery, But I new what the healing time and related pains and risks were. It is not a surgery that anyone should go into blind folded or so excited that they do not stop to ask every question and investigate every possibility.

I have to say that if you are looking for a surgeon who is knowledgeable, understanding, caring, and talented it seems like a no-brainer to pick Peter Rovito. I have had my first appointment with him and am scheduled to have my surgery on June 6, 2002 which seems like forever to wait, but if he could do it tomorrow I guess that maybe he would not be the Doctor that I am looking for. I am reassured by his years of experience and his personal manner. His staff is helpful and understanding (even when you call them twice in one week because you are worried about your insurance company approving the surgery!) I will post more after my next appointment prior to surgery.
