He is very straight forward, a Tell it like it is, kindof of doctor. He is associated with the Lehigh Valley hospital which has a structured pre-op and post-op program.

Dr. Holland knows his stuff. He followed in his father's footsteps and worked with him for many years. His father died a few months before my surgery. Once you get to know him, Dr. Holland is a nice guy. He comes across as being aloof at first, but I chose him for his experience and not for his bedside manner. I first checked to see how many gastric bypass surgeries he had done, and was pleased to know that he had many under his belt. A support group for gastric bypass patients (or people contemplating having the surgery) is in place. Dr. Holland does emphasize after care and sees his patients a long time before finally discharging them. He went over all of the risks of surgery, and even asked me during our initial meeting why I wanted to have the surgery. He wanted to make sure I was doing it for the right reasons. Overall, I liked him as a doctor and a person. As I said, once I got to know him, I found a friendlier individual. I don't think he is aloof; I think he is either shy or just more into what he has to do rather than bedside manner. I'm not saying that's the right way to be but, knowing what I know now, I would recommend him (and have to many) to anyone thinking about having this surgery.

The entire staff made me feel like I was their only concern. I had very personalized treatment and enough privacy when they didn't need to be in my room. I would have surgery at this hospital again.

Dr. Holland and staff are the absolute best!rnHe took time to answer questions, comes to the support group meetings each month, and I am happy with my surgery because I didn't have much pain. As for his staff, Terri is one of the nurses. She has had this surgery so it is great to ask her questions. She was there the day of surgery with me up until i was put under, and there the day of surgery visiting me in my room. She is my favorite staff member.

My first impression of Dr Holland was the he is a very personable person. I am still way out in the process, pre-initial consultation, but at least I have one scheduled.

Dr Holland is an amazing surgeon, very kind and skilled in what he does. He and his staff and St Luke's are helpfull in all aspects of the surgery process before and after. I couldn't be more pleased with the results of my surgery and I attribute that all to my skillfull surgeon and his team. I am very lucky to have found them.

I am a nurse, and I had done much research before seeing Dr. Holland. I asked him very pointed questions, such as mortalities and problems that he has had. The answers that he gave were what I wanted to hear. I was very impressed with Dr. Holland and his staff. His staff includes people that have had the surgery and can speak from their own experience. Dr. Holland and his staff all stress aftercare through exercise and support group meetings. The support group meetings besides being informative recommend pre-op patients speak with post op people for support and any information. I have nothing but praise for him, and recommend him to anyone that I meet that has questions about the surgery. He is a very modest person and if you consider, at support group when he comes in or is introduced, the entire audience cheers and applauds.

As a Registered Nurse I have known Dr. Holland in a professional capacity for approximately 19 years. He has always been the consummate professional. In the last 6 months I have come to know him in a different capacity - as my surgeon. I had RNY Gastric Bypass on 3/31/2009. I totally trusted Dr. Holland! He is a very caring person, knowledgeable, a skilled surgeon who really advocates for his patients. He not only educates his patients about the surgery itself but wants patients to understand the importance of the life long commitment having WLS entails. Dr. Holland attends the monthly support group meetings and interacts with everyone. His office staff is phenomenal and they work hard as a team to ensure the precertification process works for everyone who can potentially have the surgery. I have been so fortunate to have this skilled and caring surgeon operate on me enabling me to get on with my new and healthier lifestyle. If you are looking for a bariatric surgeon in the Lehigh Valley area then you need to consider Dr. Holland. Thank you Dr. Holland!!
