My first impression of Dr. Peter Rovito was relief. I guess I expected him to be straight faced and rude (like other surgeons that I have met) but Dr. Rovito is defiantly different. He is very kind and has a great sense of humor. His staff especially (Karen) made me feel very comfortable.

When I first met Dr. Rovito, I thought that he was really great. He did not sugar-coat things and told me what things would be like, but at the same time, I felt that he had genuine concern and caring for his patients. He is a very busy man and has lots of patients, so unfortunately, time is not something he had a lot of. My impression of him has stayed the same. He has answered all my questions and I love his bedside manner. Every nurse and hospital person I talked to told me that if they would have the surgery done, they would want Dr.Rovito to do theirs, so I think that is pretty high praise. Dr. Rovito wants his patients to get back into the swing of things ASAP as far as eating goes and I liked that about him. I was weaned off liquids and soft foods within about a week and I had no real problems with integrating "normal" food. I just had to chew very well and eat slowly. I would rate Dr. Rovito as an excellent doctor and someone that I would highly recommend to anyone. The only thing that I did not like about him is that he is a very fast talker and if you can't keep up with him, you may lose some of the info he is giving. Just make sure to know what questions you want to ask so you don't miss any info you need. Also, expect to wait awhile to be seen when you go to your appts. The 3 appts. I have had, I have had to wait about 30-45 minutes to be seen, so just make sure to expect and plan for this delay. He is worth it, though.

I absolutely love Dr. Rovito & trust him with my life. He did my husband's Lap RNY in 6/01. He is the most caring & "down to earth" surgeon I have met. He has wonderful bedside manner. He tells it like it is. He never sugarcoats anything.

Dr. Peter Rovito is an awesome Dr. He is very confident with his skills. He is the best Dr. He is very compassionated and funny. He came with me to do my Barium swallow. He is the best. I would recomend him to everyone. I went lap and my pain level three days out is nonexisent. His staff is wonderful and very accomidating. I would rate him as a "10" in my book!

My first impression of Dr. Rovito is that he is a no-nonsense, down-to-earth individual. Dr. Rovito is a very knowledgable and conciencious person. He has a way of mahing one feel at ease. He takes the time to insure one is well informed and prepared.

Thus far my impression of Dr. Rovito is only strengthened with each visit.

His staff is very helpfull and understanding. Furthermore, Dr. Rovito - and his staff - are considerate enough for the needs of larger patiets. His office complex is fitted with oversized chairs and sofas. This may not seem like a big deal, unless one has experienced the embarasment of " not fitting" and "prefering to stand".

I am hard pressed to think of anything I dislike about Dr. Rovito or his staff.

The one thing I would advise future patients is that His office charges a $200.00 insurance package fee. This covers the cost of documentation and filling, and appeal if need be. Every patient is informed of the fee when setting initial appointment. Depending on ones insurer, the $200.00 may or may not be money well spent.

During the initial consultation, Dr. Rovito carfully explaines all surgical options and suggests a course of action. If one agrees to move forward, the staff files the paperwork. Once approved, a surery date is set. Dr. Rovito establishes an aftercare program, prepares the patient for the dramatic changes - phisically and emotionally - that will occur.

Dr. Rovito eas very forthcoming about the variou options, there pros and cons, and the type of risks and percentages.

I would strongly suggest to anyone considering WLS to do your homework. Be informed. This will make thigs easier for you and your surgeon. To that end OH.com is absolutely invaluable.

Overall, I would rate Dr. Rovito as excellent, haveing both superior surgical skills and bedside manners.

Everyone was very nice, especially the night aides and nurses and rad techs. Everyone was very supportive and helpful even during my "why did I do this" stage. Nice thing is you don't have to get off gurney onto bed after surgery, they put you right on your bed and wheel it from recovery to your room.

Dr. Peter Rovito, MD. (Allentown PA., Lehigh Valley Hospital) is THE KING! He is a SUPERB LAP surgeon, a compassionate man and physician and a great friend. His office staff (esp Barbara, his office manager) are prompt, courteous, and great people! I'd never consider another surgeon ... only THE best for me! My surgery was quick and painless and post-op results excellent. LAP RNY is the "goldcard" of WLS. Be smart! Go LAP! Go Rovito!!!!!

PLASTIC SURGEON ... Dr. Robert Kevitch, MD. of the Kevitch & Altobelli Center for Aesthetic Surgery (Allentown, Lehigh Valley Hospital). On 1-24-02 I had my post-RNY reconstruction. WOW! The results are AMAZING! Dr. Kevitch is my hero! He's a talented artist and highly skilled surgeon. I'm ELATED with the results. See my profile for a detailed list of the procedures I had done. Dr. Kevitch is one of the most highly regarded plastic surgeons here in the Lehigh Valley. only the BEST for me!!!!!
