Presbyterian Hospital Hospital
The staff was wonderful. I had a few complications and the nurses were all on it checking in with the Dr and seeing to every need I had. I will say I did not like one of the night staff nurses but I only had her for a very short 8 hours. Thank you all for the care I recieved is the only thing I can say. I have never had a nurse give such great care. I think I saw them more than I wanted too. :) It was a wonderful place to send to recover.
My care was wonderful! I will go back to Presbyterian for stage II of my WLS surgery, and recommend it to all of my friends.
The only problem I had was with the people who transported me. The transporation staff was not helpful in transferring me to stretcher from bed and vice versa. I had to go down for a cat scan a few hours after surgery, and having to get out of bed and get onto the stretcher pretty much by myself made the pain excruciating.
Then the student nurse who wheeled me out of the hospital at time of discharge kept running my wheelchair into baseboards and corners. It really hurt to get crashed two into obstacles two or three times on the way out of the hospital! She joked about being "a bad driver" and didn't seem concerned about my welfare at all. She didn't even apologize.
But that was small stuff compared to the fantastic treatment I received from every other single staff member in the hospital. I have had 5 prior major surgeries in other hospitals, and none of their level of care came anywhere close to Presbyterian's. I will always choose Presby for my future hospital needs.
