Portsmouth Naval Hospital Hospital

The facility is a few years old and they seem well staffed. The floor recieves 1 patient 4 days a week usually so they are well prepared to work with the individual pt. Being a RN myself they didn't hinder my independence or self respect and allowed me to do as much for myself as I felt up to. Thanks for a wonderful experience PNH.

Post-op on the floor, as opposed to step down, was horrible. The nursing staff could have cared less because you are able to walk and you really do not require a whole lot of care. Be prepared to obtain your own drinks and ice. Be very aware of what you are and are not allowed to eat and what stage of diet you are on. Your food trays will contain items that you are not able to eat. Do not rely on nursing staff to make sure you follow the proper diet.
