Dr. Leblanc was recommended to me by several friends. Those friends I trust, you see I am a health care professional and sought out the opinion of other healthcare professionals. He answered all questions I had, even when I think I might have challenged him a bit. Currently I am 3 weeks post-op and do not regret my decision to have chosen Dr. Leblanc for my surgery. He took his time to explain thing to me and warned me about common complaints and things to watch out for after surgery.
Additionally, his office staff is very accommodating and quick to respond to requests. That is a big plus to consider when choosing a surgeon.
I was so pleased with the whole experience I have recommended him to others. My daughter is currently in the testing/insurance approval process for surgery with Dr. Leblanc.

I knew of Dr LeBlanc before I met him because he had been the surgeon for two of my cousins and my aunt. But when I finally met him, all of my concerns were eased. He answered all of my questions before the surgery so I had no issues. His staff is wonderful!! I love Dr. LeBlanc!!

I was originally assigned Dr. Brethauer to be my surgeon, but as Tuesday was my only day off for appointments, I was then assigned to Dr. Schauer, whose clinic day is Tuesday. The first visit was rather rushed because he was over 2 hours behind in his appointments. He and his nurse, Jim Morris, apologized for the long wait, citing unavoidable delays. It was cursory, going over general details. My second visit went much more smoothly. I felt my questions were answered honestly and to my satisfaction. He leaned in close and kept eye contact with me the entire time. He listened to my questions and didn't rush in his responses.

The staff at the Cleveland Clinic have treated me so well. My psychologist, Dr. Heinberg, and my dietitian, Lauren Sullivan, are the greatest! They answer my frequent email questions in a friendly and supportive manner. The office staff, schedulers, patient representatives make an outstanding team. I am very fortunate to have the entire team behind me and on the same page in regards to my treatment.

Make sure you save plenty of time for your appointments, as medical and surgeon visits can involve a long wait. Other than that, I love it!

Most of the staff that I came in contact with at Our Lady of the Lake were extremely nice and patient with me. I had a great experience and would definitely recommend anyone that is looking to have bariatric surgery or is needing surgery for other reasons to have it here.

My first impression of Dr. LeBlanc was that he was a very down to Earth, casual doctor. I actually was scheduled to have surgery with another surgeon and switched to him because I loved his demeanor. This impression of him has not failed me in any way--throughout all of my pre-op and post-op appointments, he has remained wonderful! The office staff is extremely helpful, especially Amy. When I decided to switch doctors and needed to schedule a pre-op consultation with him on the same day as some other appointments so I would not miss work, she made it happen. I think that future patients should know that he is extremely professional and competent in his field while also having a great bedside manner. Aftercare is definitely a must with Dr. LeBlanc. Followup appointments are scheduled at increments that bring you back into the office frequently in the beginning, then eventually once a year. You also see the nutritionist. In addition, the bariatric program offers a support group that is extremely active. Risks of surgery were given to me before surgery. I would definitely rate Dr. LeBlanc as a 10 for both his surgical competence and bedside manner. I feel like I made the right decision going with him!

Dr. Schauer has really gone to bat for me. I first began the WLS process at Cleveland Clinic in 2007. My first impression of him was that he was patient and spent time answering questions of not only myself but my family members as well. When we got to the point of gaining insurance aproval my insurance company felt that the Gastric Sleeve procedure was experimental and would not cover it. That did not stop Dr. Schauer. He went to my insurance company and not only wrote letters but had a face to face meeting trying to get them to cover my surgery. The final decision was no.

After getting a new job and new insurance I started the process again, Dr. Schauer put me on a fast track so we could get to a surgical date quicker than normal. It worked and I had my surgery on June 17, 2010.

Dr. Schauer and the entire staff at the Metabolic and Bariatric Center at Cleveland Clinic have been wonderful. From the setting itself with wider chairs and patient comfort, to the receptionists at the front desk. Everyone has been wonderful and has done everything to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. I am looking forward to going through the post op program.

The only thing negative I would have to say is Dr. Schauer is not the most prompt and is usually late for appointments. The other doctors on staff that encountered were also nice except for Dr. Cooper. I felt her bedside manner was lacking and that she really did not care about me one way or the other.

Loved him soon as I met him. He was eager to answer my questions and let me know all the pros and cons about the band vs bypass.

The staff is very friendly and helpful with all the preop stuff, we will see what happens postop.

Seems to have a very structured program, given booklet with alot of info including all the different stages of the diet and what foods are allowed.

Havent had a negative experience yet.

My first impression of Dr. Hausmann is that he really listened to me and took time with the appointment, unlike some doctors which simply watch the clock. I had initially thought that I wanted to have RNY, but I changed it to VSG. Dr. Hausmann was remarkable in dictating a letter to my insurance company regarding my migraines and medications that I am on in hopes that it would be approved due to the non-malabsorbtion with the VSG. It was approved on the first try! Much thanks. He was very good about explaining in detail the surgery and it's risks. I completed many tests before my surgery could be scheduled, which I appreciate his attention to making sure that my body could go through the surgery. I have my surgery scheduled in one week, 01/26/10. Please keep me in your prayers.
