I first met Dr. Wizman at the informational meeting, some people consider him arrogant, and honestly I didn’t see that. He is extremely intelligent with a sharp sense of humor. He obviously got frustrated when some people who were asked to wait until the end of the meeting for specific questions to be answered kept asking the same question 4-5 times over, I actually got snotty myself with another potential patient when after 8 minutes she still couldn’t get through her skull the Dr. Wizman was not going to operate on her with a BMI of 31.5. At our one on one meeting Dr. Wizman was very cordial and to the fact, no sugar coating of any type. He insists that you call him if you have any issues, I am told by other patients that he makes it his goal to be available. So far I am very happy with him.

I liked him the very first time I met him and I still like him. He's very funny keeps you laughing all the time. His office staff is very well informed and very on top of their job and they make very sure you're on top as well. I liked everything about him although I did not care for the outlandish prices the nutritionist and the psychologist charged and they both were dr.s he used and they were not on my insurance plan. They have a very well put together aftercare plan on paper even though I have not used it yet. He showed us a video that told all the risks and we were given brochures as well. So far my experiences with Dr. Wizman has been great. These are my personal impressions of my own experiences and in no way am I making statements about what other people may experience.

The nurses were very slow. A couple even brought me straws, which I am not allowed to have. They also brought me a full tray of. I was only suppose to be given liquids. So I don't think they really communicated well.

He is a wonderful doctor, confident, amazing at what he does. Office staff very knowledgable, eager to help. They have a well structured pre and post-op care plan program. I rate him a 10 for sure. I honestly have NOTHING negative to say about my experience with Dr. Wizman and his staff.

This is not a facility I would choose to go back to. When the discharging nurse was preparing me for discharge, her discharge patient education was very poor. She did not wear gloves when removing my IV (there are severe infection control issues at this facility). My partner also found an uncapped needle in the hallway near my room. Had this needle been used? Why was it not in a Sharpe's container? I was only bathed one time, the day after surgery by one of the Patient Care technicians (PCTs). The only time I ever saw a PCT was there q4hour vital signs check. As a nurse, I have to admit I was not impressed, if not disappointed by some of the behaviors and practices of this facility. I did request to review my chart, and was denied. As a patient, please be informed it is a Federal right for you to have access to your medical record information.

Dr. Wizman and his staff are highly educated in the practice of bariatrics. I was able to realize this after our 1st meeting. Most of all the doc's heart to want to help save lives through bariatric surgery is the sense you will feel just after meeting him once. Also his bedside manner is most comendable.
His staff has been the most helpful and are always avalible to answer any questions or concerns.
Now if that isnt enough ... Dr. Wizman (I like to call him the wizard)has developed a great post-op program that has helped me to obtain optimal results. By understanding the tools that the doc has given me, I have been able to lose 110 pounds so far, just 16 weeks post-op. My health & energy has been the best it's ever been. If I had to rate Dr. Wizman and his staff from a 1-10 they All recieve a 10+.

I went to Dr. Wizman's informational seminar after finding his website on line. He has a great sense of humor. He seemed knowledgable and offered reasurrance that he was competent to get the job done. I met with him personally for the first time about 6 weeks after the informational seminar. He was caring and compassionate. I had done all of my pre visit work prior to scheduling my apointment with him. His office staff are caring professionals. They have provided me with good information and support to date.

They gave me a private room with a special bariatric bed designed for obese patients and that really helped getting in and out of the bed. I had a private bathroom and the bed had the nurse call button, the tv remote, and the bed adjuster on it. The nurses were very familiar with my DR. and his procedures. My Dr. came by two times to see if I was doing OK. Great experience.

My first office was Dr.Marema at Holy Cross. I did not get the help I needed to get insurance approval. My main Doctor then refured me to Dr. Wizman, and with his treatment staffs help I got my approval within a month.
Dr, Wizman is very direct.
His staff is helpful and efficent.
There wasn't anything I did not like.
Future patients should know as much as possible about the surgery and be ready to follow his direction.
He advised sticking to a regimine for best results.
The risks of surgery was discussed, and sugestions given to minimize the ones that were in my control, the rest I had to let them deal with.
My surgeon and his staff were the best, in all areas.
I would have to credit his ability to my overall positive experiance. I was fortunate to have very little pain or complicatations.
