<font face=\"comic sans ms,sand\"><strong><font size=\"3\" color=\"#44301b\">Having been in the medical field for a number of years, i've had physician's input on other doctors and their reputations. Dr. Wizman came highly recommended from several physicians I know. This was comforting to say the least. I then inquired as to his complication rate vs. the national rate and it was equal or better in all instances. He was also honest when asked about whether or not he had ever been sued for medical malpractice for performing this surgery. He has not been sued by any patient and he's done over 800 WLS's. This was definitely a PLUS! rnrnI found Dr. Wizman's confidence to be reassuring although some may think he comes across as being a little cocky. I've had the opportunity to be in the presence of MANY surgeons in my life (thankfully not for me but on a few occasions) and he does NOT have the \"God Complex\" that a lot of surgeons have. When I asked him about it, he stated that he knows that patients are much more informed than in past years and he refuses to talk down to them. Again.. a PLUS!!rnrnHis office staff are very accomodating and pleasant to deal with on the phone as well as in person. They seem to be on top of things so far! Another PLUS!rnrnMy experience with Dr. Wizman and his staff so far is one of professionalism tempered with understanding and kindness.. not once did I feel like I was second rate to anyone. I can only say that to this date, I have no qualms about making the decision to have him jumpstart my new life! rnrnDisclaimer: Please note that these are my personal opinions and are in no way an indication that your experience with him or his office staff will be exactly the same.<br><br>rn</strong></font>rnrn<CENTER>rn<DIV id=flashwave>rn<OBJECT codeBase=http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0 height=275 width=320 align=middle classid=clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000><PARAM NAME=\"_cx\" VALUE=\"8467\"><PARAM NAME=\"_cy\" VALUE=\"7276\"><PARAM NAME=\"FlashVars\" VALUE=\"\"><PARAM NAME=\"Movie\" VALUE=\"http://flabariatrics.two.icu.ehc.com/cpm/myVid.swf\"><PARAM NAME=\"Src\" VALUE=\"http://flabariatrics.two.icu.ehc.com/cpm/myVid.swf\"><PARAM NAME=\"WMode\" VALUE=\"Transparent\"><PARAM NAME=\"Play\" VALUE=\"-1\"><PARAM NAME=\"Loop\" VALUE=\"-1\"><PARAM NAME=\"Quality\" VALUE=\"High\"><PARAM NAME=\"SAlign\" VALUE=\"\"><PARAM NAME=\"Menu\" VALUE=\"-1\"><PARAM NAME=\"Base\" VALUE=\"\"><PARAM NAME=\"AllowScriptAccess\" VALUE=\"sameDomain\"><PARAM NAME=\"Scale\" VALUE=\"ShowAll\"><PARAM NAME=\"DeviceFont\" VALUE=\"0\"><PARAM NAME=\"EmbedMovie\" VALUE=\"0\"><PARAM NAME=\"BGColor\" VALUE=\"FFFFFF\"><PARAM NAME=\"SWRemote\" VALUE=\"\"><PARAM NAME=\"MovieData\" VALUE=\"\"><PARAM NAME=\"SeamlessTabbing\" VALUE=\"1\">rn <embed src=\"http://flabariatrics.two.icu.ehc.com/cpm/myVid.swf\" quality=\"high\" bgcolor=\"#ffffff\" width=\"320\" height=\"275\" align=\"middle\" wmode=\"transparent\" allowscriptaccess=\"sameDomain\" type=\"application/x-shockwave-flash\" pluginspage=\"http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer\" />rn </embed> </OBJECT></DIV></CENTER>
I had laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery by Dr Wizman on 3/16/2009 at Wellington Regional medical center. I chose Dr Wizman based on his extensive experience with weight loss surgery, and the wonderful comments made about him by other patients and other physicians. Thus far things have gone great. At my 5 month post op evaluation, I have lost 122lbs! Dr Wizman and his staff at the Wellington Surgical Weight Reduction Center have been absolutely teriffic. Both the physician and staff are caring and supportive. As a physician myself, I was able to look at things from a different perspective, and this made my choice of surgeons even easier, as all of the operating room nurses only had kind things to say about Dr Wizman. The center offers monthly support groups which are well attended and informative. I have met many other patients who feel similarly about Dr Wizman, and I would recommend him without reservation.

First impression - organized, knowledgeable but glib.rnMy impression remained pretty much the same over time.rnWith Dr. Wizman, you have to ask questions and demand answers. When I was in the hospital, he immediately ordered tests when he realized my white blood count was twice the upper normal limit and I had a temp. However, once he ruled out a leak, he didn't give infection much consideration. I was discharged but a week later I ended up in ER with an infection in the incision site. I was in the hospital for another 4 days. It's been a trying time.rnrnOverall, I suspet Dr. Wizman is as good as most. I wouldn't consider him my favorite doctor, but as far as surgeons - he's ok.rnrnThe education and after-care are well organized. He could focus more on answering individual questions, especially about the risks.

Very knowledgeable and professional but not to the point of being stuck up. He is very cool and makes you feel secure. He is quick in and out but he knows his stuff . Doing the Laproscopic procedures is like playing packman to himm (His own words). He is an expert at both. My incisions are clean no drains and healed nicely even with my 3 prior c-sections. He has an assistant that sees you in the hopsital which is also very nice, knowledgeable and very concerned about your comfort with pain. I would recommend Dr. Wizman any time.
I have been researching surgeons for some time now. I have been very apprehensive because I have had some friends that have had this surgery here in Florida, and have had horror stories. My co-worker came into work one day and handed me a newsletter from the hospital. There was an article about bariatric surgery in it and also it mentioned the informational seminars and a number to call. I called the number only to find out that there was a seminar that evening. I went and that when I met Dr. Wizman. I immediately felt a connection. I loved his personality and compassion. I also spoke with several of his patients and knew right away that Dr. Wizman was definately the Surgeon that I want to do my surgery.
I would like to take this opprotunity to speak about Dr. Paul Wizman.rnrnI had Duodenal Switch with sleeve gastrectomoy on January 20, 2009 in Miami by Dr Michel Gagner. At my 1st post op appointment, I was told that Dr gagner was leaving practice in Florida. When I asked who he was recommending for follow up I was told it was up to me to find someone?rnrnI spoke to both Dr Gagners office as well as the Mt. Sinai administrative office and was told the same. In short I was \"abandoned\" by Dr Gagner.rnrnI did some research and found Dr. Wizman....and as it turned out, possibly saved my life.rnrnI called Dr Wizmans office and spoke to Gwen. She set an appointment with the Dr and I turned all my files over to him for what I thought would be routine follow up, blood labs readings and support groups.rnrnFast forward to last Tuesday June 16, 2009. I went to the Wellington Regional medical center emergency room with severe stomach pains and dry heaves. I noted that I was a patient of Dr Wizman and then my wife proceeded to try and contact him. He called her back at 9:30 at night and form then on, coordinated my situation.rnrnTo make a long stroy short, Dr Wizman had to do an emergency surgery for what turned out to be a strangulated small bowel. He gave my wife his cell phone number and answered all her questions. Althouh Dr Wizman does not perform the DS, he was open and willing to talk with some other professionals in California who provided him with all he needed. He even was able to contact Dr gagner who did not want to be bothered as he was on family vacation in Europe.rnrnOn Thursday June 18,2009 Dr Wizman completed the necessary surgery laproscopically and I am now home recovering.rnrnDr Wizman proved himself to be a talented, compassionate surgeon who I can honestly recomment with all my heart.rnrnHis office RN, Gwen as well as his dietician, Jodie, were in the hospital every day to check on me and report back to Dr Wizman.rnrnI can think on no other surgeon I would want to perfom surgery on me. rnrnSo if you are thinking of having any of the weight loss surgeries Dr Wizman specializes in, you can rest assured that Dr Wizman is a top choice.rnrnShould you wish any added information, feel free to email me at [email protected] GreensteinrnPre-op wt 303rnPre-op BMI 40rnCurrent wt 215rnrn

Other surgeons said that my case was too difficult. They couldn't handle the damage from a previous surgery that went bad. Dr. Paul Wizman took an additional 2 hours to separate out all the adhesions and then he gave me my sleeve. He was able to do the job where others were not. That says it all. Today I feel better than I have in years. He is personable, he is competent, he is the whole package. You can't find better.
I met Dr. Paul Wizman at one of his seminars about weight loss. I had heard about him through a close friend who had the bypass surgery and was quite pleased with the doctor. His talk was very informative and answered any questions I may have had about the surgery. He told me that after hearing about my medical problems, I would be the perfect candidate for the GBP. I was a diabetic on 230 units of insulin a day. I was also on medication for high blood pressure, high colesterol. He also told me that there was a good chance I would get off his table no longer insulin dependant. rnThat alone made my decision to do the surgery easy. Since my sugery on Dec. 22, 2008, I am no longer on any of my medications. As far as I am concerned, the man is a saint. His office staff in Wellington make you feel like your part of the family. They have an excellent support group that work with you through the entire procedure. I would definitely recomend Dr. Paul Wizman to anyone with a weight problem who wants to add years to their life
rnDr. Wizman is wonderful! I had heard of him from others who had WLS. They all told me he was compassionate and caring. When I met him, I was having trouble with my band that another doctor had done two years prior. He immediately sent me to have a flouro. It turned out that I had a slip and needed to have another surgery to fix it. I knew right away that he was the one who was going to take care of me.rnI can't believe the care I receive from all of the staff in the office, as well as Dr. Wizman. After care is so important to success. Gwen keeps in touch with all of the patients and genuinely cares about us.rnDr. Wizman is truly a marvelous doctor!
First impression was good and in speaking with him one on one I really liked what I heard. He is very confident in his work, seems motivated in life and has a good sense of humor. Aftercare is a big thing, he wants a 5 year commitment. He covered the surgery in details, both the good and the bad. While I think bedside manner is definitely a plus, give me the grouchy or quiet surgeon who is top notch and knows his craft anyday. Thankfully Dr. Wizman appears to have both!
