Northern Westchester Hospital Surgical Weight Loss Program Hospital
Dr. Roslin has been amazing since the start of my Lapband journey and made this whole process a lot easier. Not only is he friendly, but he takes the time to talk to and get to know you and answer any questions you may have. On the day of the surgery he came to see me while I was getting prepped so we could chat and then again came to see how I was doing in the recovery room. I had my surgery at a very young age, in between my sophomore and junior years at college. I was worried about making this life change while still in school but because of Dr. Roslin's never-ending support and advice I can honestly say that I do not regret a thing and I have never been happier. I have been with my band for a year and a half now and have not have as single complication. He is a brilliant surgeon and a nice man who truly cares for his patients- what more could anyone ask for?
His office, including the other surgeons and the entire staff, have made every visit enjoyable and comfortable. They always seem to be going the extra step to make sure a patient is happy and taken care of and I really appreciate having that whole support team there!
I could not have asked for a better surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone!

I chose Dr. Mitchell Roslin due to his reputation and the reputation of The Lenox Hill Hospital / Manhattan Minimally Invasive & Bariatric Surgery Program. I researched many local bariatric surgery centers in NJ and Manhattan and found that LHH/MMIBSP provided patients with the most education, surgery options and comprehensive pre-op and post-op care.
From the first informational session that I attended, I knew that I was making the right choice. Each and every time I visited Dr. Roslin he was warm, down-to-earth, friendly and informative.
The program's dietician, Sharon Zarabi, is very good and has a no-nonsense approach to educating and informing patients. She gives all of the facts and quizzes you to ensure that you understand everything.
My surgery coordinator, Moira Flynn, is amazing and handled my calls and visits with great personal warmth and professionalism. She ensured that I stayed on track and understood everything about insurance procedures, scheduling appointments and scheduling surgery. She also provided me with all of my pre-op information.

I liked Dr. Roslin immediately. He is sure of himself and has clear ideas of how he will do the surgery. Go prepared with questions--he seemed to be happy that I had done enough research to have questions prepared.
Dr. Roslin is very nice but not touchy feely. For me this was not an issue. I want a surgeon who is good at surgery--I can get good bedside manner from friends/family.
I would highly recommend Dr. Roslin. He has been very attentive when I have needed help or questions answered. Also, his office has been extremely helpful and caring.
my first impression of him was great. once i had gained back significant weight after my gastric bypass, he suggested a lap band over it. he spent about 2 minutes discussing what he would do. afterwords, i went on line and saw that there were other options. i asked him why he didn't tell me all the options and make my own decision. the lap band has been very difficult so far. he changes the stats he gives me according to the point he's trying to make. He's great when all's going well; he's short-tempered and inattentive when i suggest things could have been done differently. he's confident and unfortunately sometimes way overconfident. i'm thinking of switching to Dr. Marina Kurian.

Dr. Roslin is unlike any other medical professional I have ever met. And trust me...I have seen many. Like other reviewers have stated, he is very direct. Sometimes it can come off as abrasive, but I think it's his confidence and no nonsense methodology of dealing with issues. I can be the same way, so it doesn't bother me. He is very self-assured and SHARP. While some may say his bedside manner is lacking, I can attest that he is a very caring individual. I had complications (not WLS related) post op. He was not aware I had been kept in the hospital longer (by another physician) and came straight from one of his surgeries--scrubs, hair net, booties and all--to check on me when he found out. My first post-op visit, I met with one of the nurses or PA's, not sure which. When I expressed persistent issues with nausea, Dr. Roslin was quick to step aside from his other appointments (he was booked that day) to speak with me. He marched right in the room asking \"What's going on, sweetheart?\" and talked with me for a good 10 minutes. He had people knocking on the door trying to drag him out for meetings and stuff. That right there is a testimony to his character. He won't coddle you, no, but he is a skilled surgeon, with a brilliant mind geared toward patient health and happiness. That's what's important. If you want a coffee buddy, call your friend. If you want a brilliant surgeon, call Dr. Roslin.

I met Dr. Roslin at a seminar and I felt that he was very knowledgeable. He was thorough when he answered questions. There is a quiet competence about him which came across during the seminar and was even more apparent when I had my first meeting with him pre-op. rnEven though he knew I had been to several WLS seminars prior, had done my research, and had been with another surgical practice he still went over all surgical WLS options he performed. He offered advice but did not pressure me into choosing any specific one. He covered fully the surgical risks and also offered his opinions on how the different surgical options offered the best chances of enduring success for me as a patient taking my age and physical condition into account.rnI knew that I wanted the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy before I saw him and we knew that my insurance would not give approval immediately but he assured me that he would do all he could to assist with getting my approval. rnHis office staff was awesome. Joanna kept me up to date on where I was in the insurance process and his nurse, Joanne, and surgical coordinator, Iris, probably had my number on speed dial because they were so efficient. I never felt that I was being a problem to them because they were so concerned about me and how I was doing and where I was in the process. rnThere is one small flaw - the waiting time at the office. Bring a book, walk with your IPod and plan to wait. My wait times varied between 30 minutes to 90 minutes. Once you're into see him, he gives you his full attention and there is no rush. rnDr. Roslin came by to see me each morning while I was in the hospital and his interns and attendings were there twice daily or more and were very reachable by the nursing staff. He gave sound advice about how I should eat and delivered it with a touch of humor. I rate his surgical competence and bedside manner equally high.rnAlthough, the practice does not have a structured after care program they emphasize and strongly encourage coming to the post-op support group meetings.rnMy overall rating for Dr. Roslin is 9.5 out of 10. I am deducting 0.5 for the long waiting times to see him.rnrnrn
I wanted to say everyone has their own opinions about their doctor. I can only tell you what I know about my doctor; I prayed and research for a long time until I came across my doctors’ profile. He shown me you don't have to live your life trapped in the body that you’re in! You can always get help to make your health better. And I was imprisoned in my body. You have to first want help and be serious about it!! Yes with any major surgery, you may come across some bumps in the road. Life is all about going through the storm before you can experience the sunshine.rnFrom this moment, I will always have grate admiration for Dr. Roslin.rnFirst his curly red hair caught my attention and then his credentials sealed the deal for me. rnI fell in love with his knowledge and his straight forward demeanor. He's going to tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear. In your unrealistic imagine. He’s not going to baby you! But he will stand by your side if he sees you’re a serious patient.rnI'm quite sure Dr. Roslin has patients of every finical background.rn He doesn't show any bias towards either patient. Some people may tell you. He's quick on timing, but you can't expect him to spend hours with each patient.rn He's an extremely busy doctor but he does make time for his patients. He will answer your e-mails and if you need to ask him any questions or want him to call you. He actually calls people back.rnHe has a well organized staff and other colleagues that they all work well together. I think they have the best nutritionists working there in NYC at his office.rnIf you want a doctor that's skilled in his profession, Will tell you which WLS is best for your health, then Dr. Roslin is a doctor you would want to check out.rnSo far I think Lenox Hill Hospital, have the best weight loss surgery support team In NYC, They don't just stop after surgery they also have a good after surgery wellness program. The choice is yours!rn
