Dr. Roslin saved my mothers life. My Mother wieghted 310 lbs. and was 5 ft 2 in. she had severe sleep apnea and copd. In a period of 4 months she was intabated twice, developed a eratic heart beat, was placed on oxygen 24 hours a day and was home ridden.
When we sought out Dr. Roslin we were not even sure she would be able to survive the surgery. But not only did Dr. Roslin assure us she would make it he also recognized the urgency and cut through all the red tape like superman. That's why we think he is a super Doc and why he will be doing my surgery at the end of June.
Thanks Dr. Roslin.

I meet with Dr. Roslin on February 15, 2001. I had explained to him that I did extensive research about the Gastric Bypass and he was very informative on his side. After we had the lengthly discussion he said that he felt that the Lap Band procedure would be best for me. The Lap Band is less evasive and recovery time is 10 days vs. 6 to 8 weeks for Gastric Bypass. My weight is generally concentrated in the middle. Katherine, Dr. Roslin's assistant is also a very wonderful person. She has guided me through all the pre-exams and has explained everything to me. I am scheduled for have my first exam on Monday, February 26, second on February 27, and last but not least third on February 28th. She explained she will then submit the paper work to my insurance. I naturally asked her that if they did not approve what then? She explained there is always a chance of this happening, but she feels I will not have a problem. Please pray for me. I will update as soon as I get approval.

If anybody has had the Lap Band procedure, please let me know your experience.

I met Dr. Roslin , and I was immediately impressed with him. I was in the recieving room with at least 5 other patients listening to them talk about this wonderful doctor who has done so much for them and I could not wait to meet him. Although I was nervous Dr. Roslin's easy going demeanor quickly put me at ease. Dr. Roslin is also highly respected in the hospital that I am scheduled to have my surgery in, and by the FDA. He is currently involved in another study being done for future weight loss. The doctor has even given me his home email address so that I can ask him any question that I wish to address. He even gave me his phone number as well. He is extremely involved in people's lives even after, and I saw that he has made a personal bond a some levels with his patients. He didnt seem to treat them as patients , but as close friends. Remebering children's names, and personal things about people. Overall the Doc( as most of his patients call him) seems to have a great deal of respect and care for those of us who are seeking his help. I will let you know after the surgery, how his bedside manner is, and whether or not he can handle my MOM....hahahaha....thats the real test. She is more terrified than I am.

When i first meet Dr.Roslin i thought oh boy here we go, look at this cocky, arrogant young doctor.
But oh was i wrong, he's just really confident in his work. He explain to me he has proformed over 200 Gastricbipass operations and i have nothing to worry about.
He told me i'm healtier then same of his patients. But being 234lbs.& 5'31/2 has it's own risks. Like menstral problems here today and gone tommorow it can be really frustrating.

I loved Dr. Roslin from the onset. He is very kind, considerate and caring of your feelings. He is always there for you. Above all, he is very honest. His secrtary, Katherine is also very nice and very helpful. He has very strong feelings about after care and is very open and honest about the side effects if you don't follow the diet to the letter. At the seminars Dr. Roslin has every month, he emphasizes that there are risks to any surgery one may have. I recommend Dr. Roslin without reservation and on a scale of 1-10 he is a "10." He sees you eceryday in the hospital and has a great personality and keeps you laughing. He is super in my book.

Dr. Roslin has been wonderful since the day i meet him he promtly returns all of my calls and has never given me any rush answers , he explains everything !! And hes very caring when I was denied the first time I was ready to pay cash , I asked his fees and was going to go through with the first operation date and he talked me out of it and said appeal take your time , "im not going anywhere save your money , have patience !! And that meant a lot to me I waited and 2 weeks late hes right insurance is paying for everything . He could have just taken my money , but he cared and that meant a lot . I will write again after surgery : )

My first impression of Dr. Roslin was from what two other co-workers shared about him. It was reminiscent of the commentary a new mother makes about her OB....He is a god. I saw him at a seminar prior to my final decision, and was very taken by his ease with patients. He was very 'regular' not airy, not snobby....At our first appointment, I was impressed with the at ease nature of his interview. I had a lot of questions written down but didn't really need to refer to them since he supplied all the information I could need. He was upfront in talking about the risks, and how this would not work long term, if I wasn't committed or dedicated. I was curious in the results since there was a patient in the waiting room who I overheard say she had a Roux en Y and has gained some of the 150 she lost. This scared me. But he alleved my fears by discussing how that could happen, how some people learn to work around the surgery etc., which is why I have to be committed to a new lifestyle.
His office staff was very friendly and informative....make you feel at home .
I haven't had the surgery, nor I haven't received my approval yet (GHI_Comp), but when I do, I will tell you the rest.

Today would have been my date but because of the lack of speedy paperwork from one (required) doctors office, and the discovery of a murmur and this docs wanting me to have a spirometry test that can't be done for weeks, and now the doctor is shifting hospitals---I don't know when it will be.
I think more should be done to coordinate between the required doctor and the surgeons office. I feel rather let down--I think that the surgeons office could have at least called me, instead of me having to badger them to tell me that I might not be able to have this done by the 19th. The lack of insurance approval was only because of one doctor not sending his letter-a letter he dictated right in front of me. Not having other alternate back up supporting doctors is another. I do have a life and arrangements to be made to and letting me pysch myself up to the last day is hard to take.

My piece of advice....do all the legwork yourself----use your own doctors----for referrals or pre-certs
I am very disappointed because I really don't believe the phone calls were really made to the endo office.

What can I say??? He is a wonderful caring surgeon who is doing wonders for people. His bedside manner was great...I think I was among his first patients at his new hospital.
However, there was really no confusion. He couldn't make it the day I was released so Dr. Leitman came...another fine doctor.
While home post op, Dr. Roslins adorable wife called to check on my progress at home. I thought that was special.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Roslin. He absolutely saved my life. When I first saw Dr. Roslin he was on a talk show and I immediately called to get information. About 8 months later, when I couldn't live with myself any longer, I saw Dr. Roslin. All my fears about the surgery were immediately calmed and I made my appointment. His office staff are helpful and friendly and have always made me feel welcome. As the other patients on here have said, Dr. Roslin is a very busy man but he has always been available to me. I have called his service at all times and always received a phone call back within minutes. He informed me of all risks before surgery and he is completely honest about the surgery. He tells us not to expect a miracle and emphasizes the importance of working with the surgery. During my hospital stay, Dr. Roslin was always available and kept a close watch over me. After doing a year of research, I felt that he was the best doctor for me. 7 months post-op, I can say with confidence that this is true.

Dr. Roslin was very nice and informative with me. I have been having extreme back pains and he was kind enough to inform me that even with the surgery the pain may still be there, but hopefully it will decrease. He is a very busy man but efficient. Staff is very friendly. He had alot of patients so our visit was not sooo long. but it didnt need to be he answered all my questions promptly. He is all for the aftercare very important for the results of this procedure. Like all major surgeries, there may be complications that were addressed with Dr. Roslin. So far he has very helpfull. I hope to GOD nothing goes wrong but I have a very positive outlook on this and I will be glad to share them with you as it happens. I need this surgery mainly because of scyatica nd arthritis in my knees other wise I was perfectly content with myself during my fat days. But soon it will all be a memory. I will let you know about his bedside manner in about 3 weeks.
