Mount Carmel Bariatric Center Hospital
Dr Miller is a wonderful and caring Dr.
At first i thought he seemed "cocky" but i was WRONG! He is very kind and has more compassion than any other Dr. Ive met. His office staff is very caring and down to earth. They are very very funny and make you feel at ease.
Dr. Miller seems very strict with the after diet (much more than others ive heard) but he says he has his reasons! I trust him very much.
He told me all the risks of surgery before and explained everything in detail.
I would say he is one of the best Dr's ever, and his surgical competence AND bedside manner is EXCELLENT! You can tell its not "just a job" for him, he truly cares about his patients and wants them to succeed!
I am a staff nurse at a one of the network hospitals in the area. I have had several experiences at this hospital as a patient, family member, student nurse and a staff nurse. I feel the hospital in general is very patient oriented. The staff is very sensitive to the needs of the patient and the privacy of the patient. I know there is a nursing shortage and it is hard for the nurses to give the one on one care they so want to give. The hospital and the bariatric program at MCMC is excellent and I think that the surgeons have done a wonderful job in making sure the patients are cared for from the beginning of process to recovery to make sure they are as successful as they can be.
Rosa, bariatric coord, was wonderful! Nurse that took care of me on the night of May 11 was, I can't say in words here, but in her words "she would rather slice her wrists than work on this floor" to another nurse or aid just outside my door in the hallway in the middle of the night. I got my stuff packed and I was ready to leave the hosp by am. They don't want to take care of me because they may have to change one of the hanging bags a few more times than on another floor, these people are crazy! Aren't there any break areas to vent so this kind of talk is not going on in the hallways, the hosp I worked at there was. I'll have to say also, between this comment and the nursing bells going off constantly in other rooms was enough to get anyone out of the bed, is this the plan? lol Thank you Deb Hill
