Loyola Center for Metabolic Surgery and Bariatric Care Hospital
Dr. Chand was very friendly, excited and informational. He answered every question I had. Gave me the option of having Lap Band or actual Bypass done, and explained both well. He has a great staff of nurses working with him. My Phychologist and Nutritionist are both in his office. They all work closely together with their surgery canidates. They have a greatly improved after care program. I have full confidence in Dr. Chand and the staff of Cleveland Clinic.
My first meeting with my surgeon was a real positive one the staff was wonderful and made me feel really comfortable, He came in with a big smile and was very informative without being to scary and answered all my questions.I didn't see him on the day of my surgery but saw him the next morning and I joked with him telling him I didn't see him in surgery and he said no but I saw you. I would recommend him to anyone he was great.
Fantastic. Everyone knew what they were doing, the staff was very organized. However, Loyola is horribly overcrowded. I waited for a room for 3 hours and was finally put in a room with 3 male angioplasty patients! I did get a regular room the next day but my roommate was a broken hip with a low pain tolerance, who should have been placed in a private room or kept in ICU, where she came from!
I would recommend the care there to anyone. I worked at a suburban hospital for 13 years so I am experienced in some of the internal workings. Aside from having visits from a medical student and a few residents, my only complaint is having to answer the same question more than once (Loyola is a teaching hospital). There is no harm in that.
