I appreciate Dr. Cahill's candidness, professionalism and knowledge. I have had no complication and I am 5 months post op. I would recommend him to anyone interested in the WLS. The staff and bariatric team is very knowledgeable, helpful and available. They either provide you with everything you need or help you find a way to get it. They are also concerned with your success. The program is extrememly structured with some requiered classes and optional ones also. There is a support group availble for anyone interested in taking advantage of them. They were honest and upfront about the risk. Overall I givel Dr. Cahill and his team a 10!

I appreciated most of the staff with the exception of one nurse. They were helpful and genuinely concerned about my well being.

Very nice and professional.rnrnI only met him once so far so good.rnwhen they had cancelled my surgury I was so upset the Dr. called me himself very personable an respectfull. rnrnTina is great extremely upbeat and very energetic and informative.rnrnNothing loved them all!!!!!!!rn rnHe also has an office at St. James South Campus in Olympia Feilds. I told them to try to get bigger chairs for the clients cause we are bigger and small chairs don't work for us large people. Sometimes it is hard to get a hold of his staff you have to leave a msg and wait for them to call back. I understand people are busy but I like answers right when I call.rnrnVery important and yes they incourage aftercare programs.rnrnYes he did address the risk of surgury even explaining if need be you might be opened up and death!rnrnOn a scale of 1-10 so far of what I know of him him and his staff get a 10.rnrnboth are great !!!!!!!!!

HE OBVIOUSLY DID A GREAT JOB W/ MY SURGERY SINCE I AM HOME W/ NO COMPLICATIONS. I JUST WOULD HAVE PREFERRED A VISIT FROM HIM AFTER SURGERY BEFORE I LEFT THE HOSPITAL. I KNOW HE IS A BUSY MAN, BUT HE IS MY SURGEON.THA AND HE TENDS TO BE A LITTLE TARDY. BUT I WOULDN'T CHOOSE ANOTHER SURGEON OVER HIM EVEN FOR A COUPLE MINOR FLAWS.

My first meeting with Dr. Cahill was great. I was immediatly at ease. Dr. Cahill went over my medical backround, asked what I expected and then told me what would be the best surgery for me.rnrnWorking with his team of professionals, (Tony & Donna so far) has been a real pleasure. rnrnOk, so here is the rest of my story for the surgeon and his team. I had my 5 day-follow up with Dr. Cahill. It seems like they schedule EVERYONE who had surgery on the same day at the same time, so the office was crowded when I got there. It took a little longer that I expected to see the doc, but then again maybe I was just so tired and sore having only had surgery 4 days prior to coming in to see him. After the wait, he spent maybe 4-5 minutes with me, hardly giving me time to ask the questions I had. My mom and sister were in the room with me and had a couple of questions as well. It felt as if we were the last ones, and we were holding him up from something more important.rnrnI still think he is a very gifted surgeon, albeit a little rushed, but I am healing well, with minimal discomfort, so I am still satisified.rnrnOk... in all fairness, an update on my 2nd appointment...rnActually, I screwed up my appointment date.. I wrote down the wrong day. Donna called and rescheduled me and I still got it mixed up. So FINALLY i made it the next time, and Dr. Cahill came over from the hospital. He was pleasant as always... and this time I felt that he did take time for all my questions and concerns. ( I was also feeling 100% better than I did at the first appointment). So, yes, I am completely happy with my experiences, and any blah or crabby experiences that I may have felt the first time were probably because I was so 'fresh' out of surgery and not feeling my best...rnMy 3rd post-op appointment is in Feb. '08. I will post again after that.rnrnrn

I thought he was a really straight forward guy and his staff is out of this world. Would recommend him to anyone.

I was very dissatisified with the NURSING ASSISTANTS at Little Company. The RN's were wonderful! I think that they are over worked by having only 1 RN for an entire wing.... But the patient care assistants were the worse I have ever had the opportunity to be helped ( more likely NOT HELPED) by. They took forever to answer a call light. I needed to use a potty chair, because the person who I shared the toilet with was ALWAYS in there throwing up. I didn't mind using the chair, but the little urine cap never got emptied. I had to call 3-4 times to get it emptied, and even then they didn't come.
When I asked for some help to get dressed or cleaned up, I was told on more than one occasion to
'wait until your husband gets here to help you'. Even when it was time to go home, the nursing assistant told me that my husband could help me get dressed and bag up my other stuff. I will be putting this infor on the questionaire that was sent to me also, BUT for all the SELLING of the great care the nursing staff was going to give... I'll just say... I have had better, and I would not reccommend LCoM to anyone just based on its level of patient care.

My first impression of Dr Cahill was \"I love this man!\" LOL Mainly because he called me a \"lightweight\" *snort*rnrnHe went over everything in detail, and was so patient with any and all of my questions. His staff is unbeatable, Tony is there for you 100% and Donna is wonderful too, always that cheerful voice on the phone.rnrnI haven't had my surgery yet, but I am very hopeful. Dr Cahill has done over 1000 surgeries, and the program is great.rnrnthe support group meetings have been wonderful, they are all patients of Dr Cahill, and I have heard the good and the bad. rnrnI fell very lucky that my insurance is covering this, and that the hospital is the same one that I had three of my babies delivered.

He was my sister's surgeon, so I knew about him. He is very sympathetic and caring. He explains the surgery to you to your understanding. His staff are excellent. They are really friendly and knowledgeable. There is a structured aftercare program with a nutionists, psychiatrist and support groups. The quality of his care is excellent. Although I was scared of the surgery, he really eased my mind and I am glad that I chose him.
