I thought Dr. Parks was nice but stern she had goals for me I was unsure that I would be able to achieve but I did and then some. The office staff are great and very supportive when I finally made my goal weight everyone hugged me as it had been a stuggle to lose the last 5 lbs. I stayed short of those 5lbs for 3 months. She is a great surgeon and a wonderful person. She will go the last mile to ensure everything goes as scheduled. The bariatric program at kaise is really big on aftercare you have to make a serious commitment to yourself and the lifestyle changes by losing the 10% before they will do surgery and commit to the follow up appointments. The have answered all my questions regarding my surgery and we have talked about all the risks regarding it. I would rate Kaiser and their staff a 100% they are the best the have been through my sadness and laughter and supported me the whole way.

I had complications caused by other issues and Dr. Baggs followed up throughout my recovery process.

Dr. Baggs is a great doctor. Explained himself well and made me feel at ease. Anyone who has Kaiser knows how the staff their can be but in the bariatric department everyone is very caring and helpful. We went to Pre-Op classes that were mandatory. Had to stop smoking, and loose 10% of our body weight before surgery would be scheduled. Now we go to Post-Op classes. They also offer support groups monthly. I would rate my overall experience as a 10. Great bedside manner.

Dr. Baggs is a great surgeon, who makes you feel very comfortable and gives you support. I look forward to my check ups with Dr. Baggs to hear what he has to say. The staff at Richmond Kaiser is great. You can't help buy smile when you are there with them. There is nothing I least liked about Dr. Baggs or the staff. Make sure you ask lots of questions, and not to worry if you think they are not that important. All questions are important to Dr. Baggs and the staff. Dr. Baggs and the staff emphasize a lot on the aftercare. The appointments with the surgeon and the 6 month support group you must attend to after really does help. Dr. Baggs makes sure you understand the risks of surgery and will answer any of your questions. Overall, I think anyone who gets Dr. Baggs as their surgeon is that much more better off. I couldn't have had a better surgeon. Dr. Baggs surgical competence and bedside manner are both great. Of course this is just my experience with Dr. Baggs and the staff.

First impression was excellent. He has been very encouraging, and while there have been some delays due to bureucratic snafus on Kaisers part, all has gone well so far.

Due to some cancellation of some of my appointments by Kaiser, I found myself 15 lbs. below my goal weight before I even got a date. Sometimes, my weigh-in appointments were delayed until the next month. I found that frustrating, because I really wanted a June surgery date.

Dr. Baggs has a good sense of humor, and you can tell right away that he cares about his patients.

I value surgical competance above bedside manner, but it's nice to have both with Dr. Baggs.

Had my surgery 7-19-04. Not all that bad. spent 27 hours in the hospital, and Dr. Baggs was great. By my surgery date I had lost even more.

My two week follow up was fine. Pulling out the sutures was no picnic, but the doctor was cool. Spent 25 mins. answering all my questions, and was so happy with my weight loss.

The surgical staff was fantastic. They mad you feel as comfortable as you could be, give that you are pretty nervous (at least I was). Except for one nurse that totally forgot I existed for about two hours, the rest of the staff was attentive and excellent.

I just wanted to say that the facility was excellent, I even had a private room! The staff was also excellent, everybody was knowlegable, cheerful, and wonderful. The only problem I had was that they were dreadfully understaffed, so responce time was very slow. Otherwise, everything was fantastic!

I thought the staff treated me with respect and care. I was impressed with the lift team. They were excellent. I felt that even though there was a "full house" while I was there, I was given great care. The only thing I would have done differently is stayed one more day. I think they release you to soon.

At Kaiser the doctors work as a team so you actually work with 2 or 3 doctors. All three of them are excellent. Now that I am post-op, Dr. Judith Park is doing my follow up care. She is great. She takes time to listen and is very happy with my successes. She encourages me to do my best. I also like Dr. Baggs but I have not had as much contact with him or Dr. Fischer. All three doctors are easy to talk to and really care about the people they serve.

The staff is friendly and nice. Sometimes they make mistakes that are frustrating but it is really the process not the people that cause the frustration.

Kaiser has a good follow up program but as with all HMO's it is up to you to be your own advocate. It is important that you don't allow yourself to get lost in the system. You have to be proactive.

Dr. Park and Dr. Fischer were both very clear about the risks and complications of the surgery. They made sure that I was aware of the life changes necessary to be successful. They were very careful to address my concerns in a manner that I understood. They do not talk down to their patients. Dr. Park and Dr. Baggs were good in the hospital and treated me with concern and care. The surgery went well and I am happy to recommend these doctors.
