Inova Fair Oaks Hospital Hospital
They know their stuff
They get down to business
And they take care of you
The nursing staff is outstanding , compasionate, and carring
I do have to say I was a bit dissapointed in the Dietary department..Tray aids where not friendly. The food arived cold
They served coursly pureed Broccoli to
paitients who had Gastric bypass..we have enough gass as it is don't need any more..and the pureed meets where very dry..was hard to eat with out some moisture...I couldnt eat it!
But to me that is the only place they failed to come thru...
Every thing else was wonderfull
Thank you fair Oaks!
Very nice place. Unfortunately, seemed very understaffed. I waited in recovery for 8 hours while waiting for a bed to be ready, but was told it was because they were so backed up on getting beds ready after discharges (not that there were no empty beds). I was also right outside the nurses' station and that was very noisy at night unless my door was closed, which on the first night I was unable to get up and do myself. Staff was very well understanding with bariatric patients and helpful.
My stay wasn't restfully quiet because I was there during the opening of a new wing. I changed rooms 3 times in 3 days. Even so, most of the caregivers were great (though stressed out) and kept asking me if I needed pain meds. I was up laughing and dancing (gently) just hours after surgery. One outstanding RN in particular who was truly excellent at her job and caring too was Christine (the Asian Christine who worked day shift 11/16/03). Several other care givers were very good at their jobs as well, such as Mardin (SP?), Irene, Carlette, Song, and Ben. Thank you all so much!!
The staff and nurses were exceptional. I had no problems and all the personel was terrific. They were most helpful and seemed to be quite capable of handling anything that arose. I felt like I was special, they offered suggestions and help when asked and praise upon my accomplishments. It was a most enjoyable experience overall.
