I am very impressed with the aftercare and the emphasis on attending support group meeting. The meetings cover a broad range of topics.

I would reccomend Dr. Ali to anyone who is seeking bariatric surgery. He did my surgery and my husband's. Without going on and on, I can't say enough about how wonderful he is. He was professional, conscientious, and above all else a skilled surgeon. I had no complications from my surgery nor did my husband. We are both thrilled to have a new lease on life. rnrnMy first impression of Dr. Ali, was that although he is a surgeon, he doesn't think he is God. (What's the difference between God and a surgeon? God doesn't think he is a surgeon.) The only way that my impression of Dr. Ali changed over time was that my respect for him grew. I also liked all of the office staff. They are friendly and make you feel comfortable. The only negative that I have to report is that it often took a lot of calls for someone to get back to me on insurance issues. There is a structured pre surgery and aftercare program. Dr. Ali and Dr. Areola (his office partner) also provide support meetings on a regular basis for their patients and prospective patients. I give Dr. Ali the highest rating on both surgical competence and bedside manner.

I had a wonderful experience at Hamot. The whole staff was thoughtful and caring. The only 2 issues I had were I had a neighbor who was hard of hearing, so her TV was way to loud. After I walked once they forgot to plug my IV back in & then it ran out of battery so I didn't pain meds. for a while. Overall an excellent hospital.

Dr. Ali is the best! I had my surgery with him in Kansas City Missouri in September 2003. I weight 418 lbs. I now weight 145 and FEEL WONDERFUL! Thank you for changing my life and helping me. You will never know how much respect i hold for you Dr. Ali. 273 lbs gone forever. I have maintained by current weight for about 1 year now. Dr. Ali is the man! He makes sure you are aware that what you are going to go thru is just a tool and not a quick fix. He makes sure you are medically healthy to even have the surgery. He is a very respectful, honest, sincere man. I definately recommend him to anyone having gps.

The only complaint I had was that I was in an unusual pain and being on post op meds I couldn't convay well enough to get them to understand, Once I could convay my problem properly it was taken care of within 20 min.

I enjoyed my stay under the circumstances. I really like that fact that the staff let's you do things on your own.
