UPMC Hamot Hospital
My first inpression was that, he is passionate about helping people. My first impression has only grown stronger. The office staff is great and they are very friendly.rnrnWhat I like least is that I must drive a good distance for my appointments.rnrnFuture patients need to know that he is willing to answer any question and address any concerns, so write down any questions you have and ask. He will answer them.rnrnAftercare is the most important part of the procedure.rnrnThe aftercare program is structured and seems to be suited to the individual.rnrnAll risks were addressed as well as any other questions that I had.rnrnI am not one to just jump into something, esepcially something as life changing as this, I would rate Dr. Ali at the top of his field.rnrnSurgical competence and bedside manner manner are both very important, and I had / have both.
I had a decent experience. The only problems I had was that the bed was NOT comfortable at ALL and made my butt sore. I was also next to an empty room that the hospital is remodeling into another patient care room so there was banging and hammering going on during the day when I was trying to nap the first post-op day.
One day I also waited over an hour for my pain medicine. the nurse "forgot". One nurse also gave me insulin when I told her that I didn't believe that my blood sugar had been checked. She checked with her nurses aide who told her she did indeed take my blood sugar. I STILL don't remember them checking it and I KNOW I'd wake up when someone was poking my finger.
Dr Ali is wonderful. He is very soft spoken. Answered all of my and my families questions. The insurance coordinator at his office could be a little better though. I can't say that there was anything I DIDN'T like about Dr Ali. He even called my hospital room PERSONALLY the first post-op day in the afternoon. I would recommend Dr Ali to anyone in the tri-state area to Dr Ali for bariatric surgery. I really can't say anything negative about him personally.
I first met Dr. Ali back in July of 2008. He was so sweet and caring, took his time with me and answered ALL my questions and didn't rush me. He really LISTENS, doesn't write or look away from you, he looks in your eyes and LISTENS! His qualifications are great, his office staff is great, his nurses are wonderful and Sherry the insurance coordinator is so understanding (I have bothered her enough during my approval process, and she was always nice and professional). I give 2 thumbs up to Dr. Ali, I trust him 100% to do my surgery and his bedside manner is more than anyone could ask for!
My first impression of Dr. Ali was that of knowledgable and professional. My impression hasn't changed much but I like to had his sense of caring. The office staff is friendly and kind and always returned by phone calls when I would ask silly questions. Dr. Ali puts great emphasize on aftercare. He wants to see you in his office when you are to come in for an appointment, he wants to see you at support meetings. Dr. Ali addressed the risk of surgery to me in a professional manner and told me that risks are low. He was comforting. On a scale of 1-10. I rate this doctor a 10. rnI feel both surgical competence and a great bedside manner are so important in wls.
I seriously love this man! He has been fantastic from the get go...I haven't had the surgery yet, and I was due to a while ago but with all the personal things that have been going on in my life lately the timing just hasnt been good. Dr. Ali has been a great support, and based on how well my gall bladder surgery with him went, I know I am in capable hands.
I had nothing but nice nurses!!! they were all there to support me and were very conciderate of my needs!! I recommend everyone to go there!
The staff at this hospital were fantastic! I couldn't have asked for better care!!! They went above and beyond!
