I met Dr Ludwig at the pre-sugical informational group meeting at his office. He is a soft spoken man. But passionate about his craft. He covered in detail the surgery, the risks, and I was impressed with the amount of information he covered. Most of the questions I had before I got there were answered during his presentation. I met with him afterward and asked him a few questions. He didnt make me feel rushed or seem like he had to hurry me along to get to another waiting patient. I appreciated that. His office staff is superior to any other doctors office staff I have ever met. They are helpful, caring, warm and sincere.

My first impression of Dr.Ludwig was that he was very quite, but a very knowledgable physician. He took the time during the first meeting to go over the details with a group of us during our initial consult. Then we got a one on one meeting with him in which he went over my risk factors, my co-morbidities, and wether or not I was elligable(and I was!). rn My impression over time changed over time to include that he was not as quite as I thought and was very pleasant. He was more skilled and knowledgable than I thought in the beginning...a very pleasant surprise.rn His office staff are very helpful and pleasant to work with. They take the time to answer all my questions or find someone who could. When I first called to ask about the qualifications for the surgery, they took the time to answer all that they could and made me feel very confortable.rn I have no complaints at all about my physician....ok well only thing that stinks is that it takes him a while to round in the evenings due to his office hours, but other than that he is great! Future patients should know that they are in very skilled capable hands having Dr.Ludwig as their surgeon. He is truely the greatest!rn Dr.Ludwig strongly emphasizes aftercare. I work at the hospital that he has priveledges at and when he sees me he always asks how I am doing on my protien, my water, and how I have been feeling. He wants to make sure that his patients are taking their vitamins and exercizing and is very supportive of his patients.rn He provides his patient's with a packet that explains how much to be taking in (orally) all the way up to the first year after surgery...everything on what vitamins to take and how much...what type of foods you can try and when...what type of exercises you can start and when you can start them....plus many more common questions that we might have.rn He addressed the risks of sugery in a group setting and additional risk that are applicable to the patient in person one on one. rn I would rate him a 10 out of 10.rnHis bedside and surgical competence are both wonderful, he has always been pleasant and been able to answer my questions.

I had a private room, so that was nice. The nurses were attentive and polite; however it took a while for them to answer when I pushed the call button. I ended up having a problem with my IV and screaming like I was in labor when a nurse put my pain medication in too fast. But overall, my stay was good.

Overall
How well equipped was the hospital to handle overweight patients?
How much privacy did you feel the hospital gave you?
How accommodating was the hospital in allowing visitors to see you?
How restfully quiet did you find your experience?
How responsive did you feel the hospital was in give you pain medications?
How responsive do you feel the staff was in helping you with your general needs during your stay?
How sensitive was the staff to the needs of overweight patients?
How would you rate the parking accomodations?
How safe did you feel that the hospital was well equiped enough to handle any medical emergency that might arise during your stay there?

ok Dr. Ludwig, yeah he's great, i am so glad I met him and had him do my WLS, He has made me feel so comfortable, he's down to earth, he mellow he's beautiful and he's a great doctor. i had a problem it was his day off and he still came to my help, how many doctors would really do that anymore. I had my 2 week with him yesterday and he laughs, he smiles and is very honest with you. he really acts like he cares about ya. There are not to many RN's or Doctors that care at all. And even with all his patients he remembers you and that means alot. I would recomend Dr, Ludwid to anyone who is wanting WLS. He's just to sweet and to handsome for his own good. Plus he is a duck lover which so am I so i love his office.

I had read a lot about Dr Deron Ludwig on the internet and was impressed with the comments from prior and current patients of his. I called the office and the staff was just great. Kimberely was just wonderful in explaining the process while I related to her that I was just \"looking\". She was both professional and enjoyable while talking to her on the phone. rnWhen I met Dr. Ludwig for the first time I was immediately put at ease for some reason. He is a younger man than I anticipated but very knowledgable and experienced in WLS so that made me feel very good. His ability to relate well with those of us at this particular consult meeting was something that also impressed me. He took a lot of time explaining the surgery and various aspects of WLS and did a through job of giving us opportunity to ask questions. I left that meeting after a quick physical exam, with the knowledge and confidence I felt I needed to make a responsible and confident decision to proceed with the surgery.

My first impression was \"Wow! He's so young! Are you sure he finished med school?\", but after talking to him I felt relieved. He was polite, friendly, and was able to answer all of my questions. His staff has been great, every time I call they listen to my concerns and get back to me imediately. My only worry is his lack of experience with lap-band surgeries. However, I have been told that the surgical supply company is sending a specialist to assist in the surgeries themselves.

Dr. Ludwig and his staff have been both extremely competent and professional throughout my entire preop and now post op experience! I appreciated all of the nutritional and experiential information that I recieved before my surgery. Successful Solutions support system with pre and post-op nutritional counseling classes and a great support group as well as staff that is available to answer questions at all times, made me believe that I could take this giant step! I am now 3 weeks post-op. I told Dr. Ludwig that I had prepared my mind for this procedure to be hell. It turns out, it's only pergatory :-) he laughed. The great part is, someone is there to guide you when things get too hot. I did a silly thing and swallowed my gum at 10:30 pm one night. I was freaked out about the possiblility of obstructing the outlet of my new \"pouch\". I panicked! Dr. Ludwig was immediately available, supportive, and calming. Dr. Ludwig and his team truly ROCK!

My first impression of Dr Ludwig was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. rnrnOvertihe last few months Dr Ludwig has proven he REALLY cares about his patients. rnrnAftercare is extremely important to the doctor and his staff. Without this, it would be much harder to understand and deal with all the changes occuring to me. The Enloe successful solutions program is so helpful.rnrnI have only good things to say about my experience so far. I appreciate all the knowledge, time, and efforts the entire staff puts in to help obese people regain their physical health.

Dr Ludwig seemed quite genuine when I first met him. He really wanted to help. The first time I arrived at his office I was greeted by some of the nicest staff members that I have encountered. Dr. Ludwig is quite thourough about the procedures that will be done. He goes over every time of operation and what to expect and the possible risks that can be expected. I was quite nervous the day of my surgery, but I was greeted by Dr. Ludwig and also a nurse that works in his office and at the hospital. They talked to me about any last minute questions or fears. After the surgery they were the first people I woke up to. The hospital stay went quite well. I personally had a few minor complications, but Dr. Ludwig was right there to help out in any way. I also know of about 20-25 other people in my company that have had the surgery done by Dr. Ludwig, and have yet to hear of one bad thing about him. If anyone in the Chico area is looking for a good doctor to perform this procedure, look no further!!!

From the very first phone call to Dr. Ludwigs office I felt very comfortable with his staff. The staff was just as kind and concerned and willing to give me any and all information as Dr. Ludwig was. I never felt scared or concerned at anytime. He did explain the risks of the surgery and was always willing to answer any of my questions at any time. Both his surgical competence and his bedside manner are the best I have experienced. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
