El Camino Hospital Hospital
As soon as you meet Dr Foster you know that your life is in great hands. Her calm, confident manner is very reassuring. She answers all questions very clearly and I have never felt that she was trying to "hurry" me out.
The office staff seems to be in a bit of a flux. I have had problems with my medical group and have called the office many times. They have been very patient with my many questions. There is a very structured aftercare program. They don't just cut and forget you.
I had my first appt. w/Dr. Wetter the first week of Dec., 2002. My husband and 4 year old accompanied me to the appt. He was incredible. Well versed on all aspects of the surgery with an extensive resume showing a great deal of expertise in the field of bariatric surgery. He explained in great detail the surgery options, which would work best for me and then asked me a number of questions. He was calm, kind and patient. I'd expected a rushed visit since the delay from my appt. time to seeing him was about an hour, but I was wrong. I don't mind waiting if I receive good service. And he definitely lived up to my expectations. His staff is courteous and kind as well. I think Yvette is incredible and so pleasant. We didn't discuss much beyond the ramifications of the surgery. I had my psych and nutritional consults and attended support groups. I had a follow up appt. in February 2003 and my RNY surgery was approved by Blue Shield HMO Access + within a week of the request and will be covered at 100%. I'm looking forward to hearing more re: aftercare at our next meeting, a couple of weeks before my April 10, 2003 surgery date. The survey asks which is better? Surgical competence, bedside manner or both? Well, I have LOTS of friends and none of them are competent surgeons. I'll take the competent surgeon over good bedside manner any day. But, with Dr. Wetter, it seems you do get both. :)
I FOUND DR. WETTER TO BE VERY HELPFUL IN EXPLAINING THE PROCEDURE AND MOST OF ALL PATIENT. MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. WETTER WAS GOOD AND THAT HAS NOT CHANGED. HIS STAFF IS HELPFUL, BUT THERE ARE TIME THEY ARE HARD TO GET HOLD OF.
THERE WAS NOTHING I FOUND THAT I DID NOT LIKE ABOUT DR. WETTER AND AS FAR AS FUTURE PATIENTS SHOULD KNOW, THEY CAN TRUST AND BELIEVE IN HIM. ONE THING FOR SURE IS HE IS VERY HONEST WITH YOU AND WILL NOT MISLEAD YOU.
SINCE DR. WETTER WANTS EACH OF HIS PATIENTS TO SUCCEED WITH THEIR INDIVIDUAL WEIGHT LOSS, HE PUTS A LOT OF IMPORTANCE ON AFTERCARE PROGRAMS, WHICH ARE CURRENTLY IN PLACE.
DR. WETTER ADDRESSED ALL MY CONCERNS AND OVERALL IS AN EXCELLENT DOCTOR.
First appointment scheduled for March 25th. So far the girls in her office have been wonderful.
DR foster and her staff were fabulous,I feel she really listened to my personal history and was ready with straight forword answers. I felt very comfortable in her office and with her. Dr. Foster is very big on after care compliance and she explained all of the risks and benefits very well i felt postive after my 1st encounter.i give her *****
I went for a Consultation with Dr. Feng at San Francisco Laproscopic on Jan 2, 2003....I found him to be very very knowledgable and very caring with a great bedside manner...I had first contacted Dr. Jossart and found him to be very pleasant also...I really like all the Doctor's at San Francisco Laproscopic as well as the staff, they "listen" to your needs and address them to the best of their ability...I trust them implicitly and feel that I am in the best hands possible. All the surgeons are very upfront with the dangers of the surgery and are very thorough with all the medical testing...they cover every facet of your health to make sure that they have no suprises during surgery. I am very thankful to be in the hands of Dr. Feng, Dr. Jossart and Dr. Cringle. I realize that all people are all different and that one person may really like an individual while another may not...so...this is my personal experience and these are my own feelings at this point in time.
Dr. Wetter was amazing during each step of the journey. He was easy to talk to and was very straight forward with his information. He office staff is friendly, although very bust at times. He values aftercare a great deal scheduling constant Post-Op check-ups and being sure to keep me informed of all support group tyoe events. I would give Dr. Wetter and his staff a 10/10.
The only thing that I can say about the his office that needs improvement is the wait time. No matter the time of appointment you can expect to wait around an hour before being seen. A wait that I can honestly say is worth it if you plan for it, since there are always people in the waiting room to talk to and share experiences with. Just be sure to schedule this extra time in advance.
I just had my first consultation with Dr Wetter on 12/4/02. Both my husband and I felt that Dr Wetter was very approachable, thorough and professional. He was very clear in stating what I could expect in my WLS journey, pre-op, surgery and hospitalization, and post-op, and all associated risks and benefits. He thoroughly explained the surgery and told me he would try the Laparoscopic way but would open me up if the need arises. He required a psychiatric evaluation and nutritional education prior to scheduling surgery, which I completed. Dr Wetter made me feel at ease. His office staff were very nice as well. I enjoyed meeting Yvette and Jocie very much. I am very happy with my decision in choosing Dr Wetter as my surgeon, and I will wait with anticipation the news of my surgery date!
